Dingergisbar had finally decided to move on from Maestros, to find the life she was longing for. She had joined the pride soon after coming into adulthood and found that she just didn't want that lifestyle forever, even though she loved the pride. It was hard to separate yourself from something you loved. However, she had done just that. In her times of wandering away from the pride she had heard rumors of the Motoujamii-Simo. Now she was heading to the pride but she was admittedly a little nervous. She knew a bit of the pride but that didn't account for much. You could only know what a pride was like when you lived it everyday. Dingergisbar was willing to take the chance.

It didn't take long for the lioness to stumble upon southern post of the pride. Each step she took showed her caution, not wanting to make enemies before she had even tried to enter, but there was a flick in her tail that showed she was just as excited. Dinger took a deep breath in and stopped when she was certain she was in a good place to be seen but hopefully not mistaken for a foe. She could see some lions out and about so it was only a matter of time before one approached. Until then she steadied her breathing and calmed the nerves that were bubbling in her chest. She knew she had to duel her way in. Hopefully she would be good enough. That and having a lot of luck on her side. "There's nothing to be nervous about. You've been through worse." Dinger tried to tell herself quietly.

It seemed more often than not Saoiraed had been near the border lately when rogues had come to call. The bulked up patrol lines had seemed to discourage some newcomers, but one or two always stuck out the desert and the looking, staring lions to make an attempt. And Saoiraed never minded clambering out of the shade the rocky outpost provided to meet someone or lend his paws and claws to a duel. It gave him an excuse to meet incoming rogues personally and get a feel for them before they really integrated. This time it was a shockingly red lioness, from head to toe one solid color. Well, she'd certainly match the pride's color choices in that regard!

She seemed eager to give it a try and after brief words with his fellow guards on duty he climbed up out of the outpost and then down onto the sandy dune to stand across from the female. She certainly looked determined. "Hail, lioness," He beamed as he greeted her - he might have been a literal giant of a lion, but he was nothing if not friendly. "This is the edge of the territory of the Motoujamii-Simo...I assume you've heard of us and come seeking us. Not many others wander so far into the desert...On behalf of the pride I would hear your intentions. Though I think I can guess," Another, slightly lesser smile. "I am Guard Saoiraed. I'll have your name, if you mean to stay, I think."

The lioness was a little surprised when a large male came her way. He had an formidable build but his smile seemed to contrast it nicely. So others came here to win their way into the pride. Of course. If she was here then of course there had been many more before her and there would surely be some after her. How many had actually done it though? No, she would not allow herself to lose. "Your guess is right." Dinger returned the smile and nodded. "I would like to join the Motoujamii-Simo. I know it's not that easy though." Dingergisbar looked over the lions shoulder, towards the outpost. So they were the guards. Somehow they all seemed to be imposing figures, even though they were very far away.

"I am Dingergisbar. You can call me Dinger though, if you like." She told him. "Saoiraed. . . You seem to fit your position well." This time Dinger smiled. Well, this was going to be hard. Dinger wanted to prove herself though. "I've come a long way but as I said, I would like to join." It was hard putting into words what exactly it was she wanted. The lioness knew how to fight but she hadn't gotten to practice in a while, well, at least not how the lions here probably did. Dinger took in a deep breath.

"Dinger, then," He nodded and his smile was genuine. "My thanks for your kind words. It wouldn't do for me to be anything other than ideal, I suppose." He may have felt just the slightest bit keen to show off. Nothing overly full of bravado though - he was simply in a good, confident mood. "Joining is a process. I'm sure you've heard something of it in your travels here. We will fight. A duel, to assess how well you meet our standards. All Motoujamii are trained from childhood to fight, and though we are not all soldiers or warriors, it is an important skill to know. If you do well enough, have enough skill or raw talent, you will pass. Then you will come along with me for a while. A moon's cycle or so, and we will teach you everything you need to know to thrive here." He flicked his tail. "Of course, if you should fail our test, you are welcome to stay near the outpost, train yourself, and try again.

That was more or less what would happen now. They would have to fight, but he didn't like the idea of just leaping at her with no warning. It was more realistic, sure, and some guards might have done it, but he felt it was a little unfair. He instead cocked a brow at her and lowered himself slightly into a stalking pose.

"So then, Dinger, shall we? If you feel you are not ready, we do not need to fight. But it won't hurt to at least try, and see how well you do.
