Seaki Today, the wind was biting cold. Maybe not for others, but Jito could feel the cold down to her bones. They ached voilently where they had shattered when she was a cub. She could feel it most sharply in her shoulder, and she just new today she might snap at someone who did not deserve it, but she held as tight as she could to her anger.
Of course, she still had things to do today, so she left her bed and wandered out into the pride's lands. She took a deep, calming breath and ignored the pain that pulsed through her. She was determined, but that could only do so much.

DragonsRage Karm walked quietly alongside Fen'li. There was a sense and understanding between the two females now that the reasoning had been brought out into the opening for the unknown visitor from several nights ago. Karm had told him, before ha had left. That if Fen's spirit ever faded, shattered, so would his face. Karm would protect her like a sister even if they were not. They were close enough, and that was good enough for her.
Fen'li looked to Karm and smile, as they were both silent. The clouds overhead rolled into one another, enveloping one into a larger form. There was a threat of rain today, it smelled like it. Fen had begun being able to differentiate the different smells in the air for the weather. But today, it was awfully chilly, cold to the bone, and it made the smaller female shiver. "Perhaps we should find someone who needs us, and they might provide a warmer place for the night?" Fen suggested. Though both females held their own den, they were still thralls. Neither been claimed, but still had duties to the pride. "What do you think?" Karm nodded to Fen as they continued on, searching.

Seaki Jito gave a small wince, landing too much weight on her shoulder. She wandered into the pack. Perhaps the ocean would be warmer on her shoulder - she often laid in the shallows to let it soothe the pain. However, upon hearing voices, she turned her head. She hated listening in on conversations, but sometimes they caught her attention. She stepped towards the voice, crying out a bit at the pain her shoulder caused. She took a deep breath, shaking slightly. Now was not the time for her to lose mobility!

DragonsRage Karm stopped and listened as something cried out in the dismal setting. What was that? Moreos, who. "We should see who it is," Karm said lokoing to Fen, "see, if they need help<" or to see if there was an intruder, and Karm could proove her worth. Though the cry sounded painful, hurt, and there better not be another who was causing that pain. Truth be told, though Karm did not like teh fact she was a thrall, this was still her pride, and matter of factly, making it her family. She would protect her family. "Lets go, quickly," Karm said breaking out into a run and she watched for Fen to follow. Fen had nodded at Karm's statement and took off after her. Though, she was not as swift on her paws as Karm was. Karm knew how to run with efficiently, Fen'li looked like something was hcasing her and she was unstable on her paws. She would have to work on that. As they covered some ground, an unfamiliar site came into view, a female they had not met, and by the look of the grimace on her face, she was either unhappy, in pain, or both. As the two females skid to a halt before the unknown lioness, they stopped caught their breath, and Fen'li was the first to pipe up, "Are you all right? We heard your voice carried by the wind."

Jito could only admit that she was startled by the sudden appearance of the other. She sucked in a sharp breath and clenched her teeth not to shout or flinch once more in pain.
The lioness closed her eyes, breathing a few times to press back the sharp pain in her shoulder, gulping back another cry as she took her weight off her shoulder. Once the pain lessened a bit, she refocused her gaze on the thralls.
"My apologies. Just an old injury..." She murmured, rather embarrassed. Of course she would draw attention to herself! "I didn't mean to startle you," she tried to place them - she didn't recognize them as freeborns or reavers, but she also didn't know everyone in the pride. So much changed when she kept to herself...

Karm took a look at the female, and whatever was paining her was not subsiding. It could be the weather, the cold, her father had said once that barometric pressure changes could effect those that were already plagued by a weakness. Not that Karm would think a pride member weak!
"I'm sorry for the pain you feel, the cold probably doesn't help, you need to have heat on it," Karm said with a nod, "Heat will sooth the area, perhaps not completely, from whatever the injury was, but at least temporarily until this pressure storm passes. Fen'li," Karm said looking to the light colored and striped female, "assist her if she needs it, let her lean on you. Do you need me to do anything? I am Karm."
Fen'li saw how Karm took charge and was in awe, wow. Fen'li quickly scuttled to the female side, "I am Fen'li, who are you? Where do you wish to go to be warm? I, we can help, it is what we do," she said with a smile ear to ear. Fen did not mind being a thrall, nope. She had a satisfaction knowing she was of assistance.
"PLease, lean on me if you need to, I do not mind."

Jito took a deep breath, calming herself. The throbbing pain wouldn't fade, however. She often heard of old War Wounds feeling the same, but she had never been to war. She felt a great relief when Fen'li offered to allow her to lean onto the other female. "Thank you," she murmured, allowing herself to sag a little. The weight was now completely off her shoulder, but she could still feel the radiating pain.
"I'm Nawiri Jito," she informed them. She still couldn't completely place them, but that was okay. They were very kind, and that's all she cared about. "My shoulder," she glanced towards the offending area. "It's an old injury, but it aches often..."
She gave a small sigh, closing her eyes. "Thank you both for helping me. I'm very grateful." She took a moment to commit their names to memory - Karm and Fen'li... Yes, she'd remember their names. "Are you new...? I've not seen you around before I don't think..." she asked after a moment, a bit embarrassed. Her pain addled mind might be to blame, but she'd rather ask than assume.

Karm watched Fen'li move and waved her paw a little, Fen got the motion and leaned back against Nawiri Jito a little more to take more of the weight off, but not press too hard against the shoulder. "I can understand, my father used to tell me stories, ages ago, that my grandfather would get many wounds, but try to shrug them off. However, my grandfather would, now and then, feel the pressure of wounds. It is more difficult, I think, when the wound is deeper, in a muscle or tendon or bone, than on the surface, much harder to have heal and not bother later during cold days."
At her question as they began to walk slowly, hopefully in the direction Jito wanted them to go, Karm shook her head. "We've actually been here a while. We watch from a distance , usually, unless asked to do something. We're...thralls," Karm said with a little disdain.
"Karm wishes to be above it, Fen'li does not mind," Fen said happily, leaning on Jito hopefully making it easier to walk. "I like helping, but Karm wants more, I think, but that is okay, I like helping, doing what others request. It has others do the thinking for me I suppose<" Fen said with a laugh.
"Is your den this way Nawiri Jito? Are we far?"

The blue lioness struggled a little, taking a deep breath to steady herself against the other. "Oh, I see," she murmured. Thralls! They were very kind and helpful. "Do you belong to anyone?" she asked. She would have to talk to their master if they did and give them a high praise.
"We're actually not far. I hadn't left too long ago, and I don't think I should have attempted on a day like this," she sighed regretfully.

When Karm heard Jito inquire, she held her tongue for a moment, trying to find the best way to word how she felt. "No," she said simply then, "we, don't" her voice trailed off. Karm didn't know how that worked, but to be owned by someone, Karm didn't like the thought, She knew Fen'li didn't care one way or the other, but, Karm did.
She wanted to be free.
"Let me know how much further, we shall take you there, Fen'li shall help," she said with a smile, bright eyes watching the ground carefully as to not slip as she didn't want to cause Jito anymore pain than she already was feeling. "None call us their own, very strange thought, very strange. Fen does not mind the idea, no, don't know how it works either since we were brought here together. not sure," she said with a smile and slight shrug as they strode together.
To Fen, the idea just made her think someone would want her.

Jito gave the white lioness a soft smile. She'd never encountered such a chipper thrall. "It's just over there," she nodded her head. They weren't very far. Just the effort made her tired. She was glad both thralls were quite kind. Either of them could have challenged her to rise above her slave hood in her injured state and she had no means of fighting back or proving to be worthy.
She would probably be better in a thrall position if she was completely honest. "You've both been a great help," she told them upon reaching the mouth of her den. It was roomy, and very lonely. "You two are welcome to stay, if you like."

Karm looked to where the den was, went to the mouth and peered inside, it didn't appear anyone else was lurking, for which Karm wanted to make sure. Jito would be in a vulnerable state until she felt better enough to move, and Karm didn't want t=anyone to take advantage of that.
"I am glad we were able to help<"Fen'li said with a smile walking Jito to the entrance of the den, "I hope you rest easy," she said with a nod. At Jito's question, Fen'li looked to Karm to answer. Fen'li would not make the decisions between the two of them.
It appeared Fen'li wanted to stay, and indeed, Karm would feel guilty leaving Jito here...and she and Fen'li's den was a bit far off now. "If it would not intrude, we could stay."
Fen'li smiled, and looked to Jito.

"No intrusion at all," Jito assured. She stumbled a bit away from Fen and towards some of the furs that lay in her den to keep her warm. She gave a sign as she sank into them. There were more furs in her den than just the ones she rested on, despite living alone. She collected them in hopes of wooing a certain someone into her den, but that would be a while yet.
She gave a small nod of her head, gesturing them in.

Fen'li was the first to walk in. She let Jito get settled and then Fen'li pushed some other fur around and on top of the shoulder that was aching the female so. "There, you'll be all nice and warm," she said with a smile. Fen'li almost considered snuggling up to Jito then, but hesitated, and settled for resting her head on a fur next to Jito.
If she needed anything during the night, Fen would be there to help.
Karm watched the two get settled and looked to the sky. It flashed with heat lighting, but the cold was still bitter. She shook herself and made her way inside but settled closest to the den's entry. If anyone came here, she'd be the first line of defense.
Tonight, this was her home. She only hoped Jito's shoulder felt better tomorrow.
