Kaya, taking the advice of Sub, leader of Team Snagem, has packed his suitcase with a few changes of clothes and left all of his Pokeballs at the base except for those belonging to his Togetic, Marill, Sylveon and Klefki. The Fairy-type Pokemon would likely be the only ones allowed into Sucellos' realm if he was able to find the entrance in Laverre City, with the help of Valerie.
Climbing atop his hoverboard with Josephine at his feet and Sora tucked under his shirt, the hybrid took off from Lumiose City, thankful that Laverre City wasn't far off. He intended to take this challenge with only his ingenuity and his own Pokemon to help him, refusing to accept the Team Claydol's offer to take him where he wanted to go.
Besides that, he was debating whether or not he should attempt to capture a certain Pokemon somewhere in the swamp. A Pokemon weak to his team, perhaps but also an asset against some of their weaknesses, he hoped. It was also quite cute. Regardless, his mind was made up and so he zoomed through the streets of Lumiose at ground level, appearing to be riding a skateboard for now. Once he left the confines of the city, he'd get more distance between him and anything that might create an obstacle.
"Sylveeee? Veon syl sylvee." Josephine said from his ankles, stretching out a bit and letting her ribbons whip about in the wind. "It shouldn't take us too long, Josie. I think we'll get there pretty quickly, to be honest. I'll worry about catching a Goomy later on. Finding out if Valerie knows a way to reach Sucellus is more important right now." The young man replied with a small laugh to Josephine's frown. She was enjoying the ride.

Kaya found his way north, along North Boulevard until finding the gatehouse leading out to Route 14, where he climbed down from his hoverboard and walked in, Josephine walking along beside him quietly. The two passed through without incident, offering a small wave of greeting in passing to attendant at the information desk, and stopped off at the park for a few minutes, Kaya enjoying the bright sunshine. "I love this weather. It's certainly starting to feel like spring again." He voiced to his small partner. Josephine nodded in agreement. "Sylviii!"
After a short break, clouds began to roll in, thick and ominous in appearance. "Looks like it's going to start raining..... We should hurry." Climbing back onto Kaya's hoverboard, the hybrid and his Pokemon both shuddered as a bright light flashed in the sky, turning the world into leaping shapes lit by bright blue-white and contrasted with deep black shadows. "I'm not liking the idea of being a lightning rod....." Kaya muttered, swallowing hard as he started off towards Laverre City once again.
Thunder rolled overhead as the duo zoomed through the swamp, Kaya managing to avoid the various trainers, for the most part. He did come too close to a creepy little girl dressed like a Barbie doll but when he threw a handful of Cheri powder into her face, she screamed, clawed at her eyes and threw herself face first into the swamp water. "Sorry, kid but I'm not playing dollies with creepy things Sabrina creates in her spare time." He commented as he sped off.
"Veon sylvi?" Josephine asked after a moment or two.
"Of course it was harsh but when mutant, living dolls are trying to rape your soul without cuteness and other unspeakable things, what else can you do?" The hybrid asked in response.
"Veon....." Josephine covered her face with a paw, unsure how she should react to this statement. Regardless, the storm brewing overhead was getting to the point where lightning could begin striking at any second and they weren't far from their destination by now. Looking up from the water, where she watched Stunfisk splash about and play games of "Paralyze the Poliwag", Josephine spotted rooftops up ahead, though her vision was cut short when she was nearly thrown from Kaya's board, the hybrid coming to an abrupt stop with someone blocking his path forward.
"A Hex Maniac? I thought you guys were only in the Hoenn region?" Kaya asked as the girl blocked his path, releasing from a jet black Pokeball hidden in her shirt sleeve, a Pokemon he hadn't expected. A Gengar.
"You attacked my sweet baby sister. Now your soul joins the others in this swamp in eternal unrest!" The unkempt woman croaked out, a heavily bedazzled hand hovering over the black Pokeball occupying her other one. "I foresee this for you. The spirits call for your soul, Fairy Boy!"
