Jozi'Kasei lazed about in the sun. She had been seeing things lately, she thought. Something strange and golden darting place to place. Looked like a lioness, but more like a dream. One like she never saw before, one much larger than she ever saw of the non-typical Firekin color-scheme anyway.
She was beginning to wonder if something was wrong with her vision, if she was spending too much time in the sun.
What would her mother think?
She shook her head, trying to think of what she should do. As a huntress, she felt...bland, like she had more to offer. But what? At a loss, alone, she felt incomplete. A lonely spec upon a dune.

No Jozi would ever be a lonely spec upon a dune. For, wherever there was one, there would always be another. Though Jozi'Kenna never said such poetic words, her mind was often on her sister. They had grown up an inseparable duo, perhaps because of Kenna's insistence. Whether they would have drifted apart naturally, or because Moto'Seide had encouraged their independence whether possible, the twins were capable of functioning as singular units now.
This singularity included that of thought, and Jozi'Kenna had found purpose as a hunter that many would not find even if they had become the Magistrate himself.
Like the Uncle she had apprenticed under, Jozi'Kenna slept outside at night. It was an obscure practice Moto'Seide had frowned upon when she was young, but it had been the first thing that Kenna had chased of her own volition. Despite the shivering fur on cold nights, the young lioness often fell asleep with the quirk of a smile on her lips.
There was a gentle smile now, as she plodded her way over the slowly shifting sands to the shape of her sister. To every other Firekin, they were difficult to distinguish. To her, Jozi'Kasei was the only other lion on this planet to look like she did. Kenna did not spend much time gazing into puddles after her own reflection.
"Any idea why it's so quiet today?" Jozi'Kenna asked her sister as she approached the lazing black Firekin.
