Khepri hadn't really known how she had gotten here, though what mattered was she was there. Perhaps she had chosen to forget, or she had hit her head much harder than she had thought. It was a interesting place, a place she didn't feel as if she fit. But it didn't really matter what she thought, she was here and stuck there. Or at least, that was the impression she had gotten.
She found herself humming to herself, not really sure what to do. She felt lost, and out of place. Always in the way, she had been pushed a few times since she had been up and moving about. She kicked a small rock and found that it was quite fun doing so, and kicked another. Giving a giggle, she looked around to make sure no one had been watching her.

VERSIERSELThe nice thing about having a twin was that if you and your sister made sure to stay far enough away from each other that your mother and the thralls couldn't keep you both in sight, it took them a while to notice if one of you was missing. And 'Siersel was perfectly happy to take advantage of that. So she was sneaking around the pride, looking for something fun to do. A giggle made the cub c**k her head in curiosity. What was so funny? She wanted to know! The giggling resolved itself into a grownup lioness whose markings were similar, in some ways, to 'Siersel's mom's, kicking a rock around. "My turn, my turn!" the little lioness called out, pouncing on the still bouncing rock.

Khepri had jumped, not expecting the cub to show up at all. She could feel her heart pound against her chest for a few moments, then she smiled down at the cub. "Of course, little one." She said with a smile. "Just careful not to kick too hard." she said. She didn't want to get yelled at, not that this was something anyone might yell at her for. But one could never be too careful.
"Wouldn't want to hit someone with a rock." She giggled at the cub's enthusiasm in rock play. Maybe she could make a game out of it for the young ones? That seemed like a good enough idea, maybe.

Versiersel frowned up at the grown up. Why would she say something like that? They were Stormborn! They were strong and proud and proud of their strength! So it was weird that this lioness would want her to not kick too hard.
"Why not?" she pouted. "If I don't kick it as hard as I can, how can I grow up right?" Her mom wanted all her cubs to be true Stormborn, and kept encouraging the boys to be Reavers when they were older. 'Siersel knew that mom would do the same for herself and her twin except that girls couldn't be Reavers. Well, they used to, and there were still female reavers in the pride, but they were all oooooooold.

She hadn't thought of that before. Out witted by a cub! Oh man, she wasn't making a good footing here. "Well, I mean, you shouldn't hit someone with it. Kick as hard as you like." Smooth save, Khepri. "You want to make sure you only fight with your claws and teeth when you go up against someone else." She said. At least, that's what she had seen from afar when watching challenges from time to time.
Crazy place, she thought. She wasn't one for fighting. In fact, she didn't like it at all. Her opinion wasn't important, or at least some others had made that clear... She mumbled to her self for a moment then smiled at the cub. "Try to..... aim for that huge rock over there." She pointed to a small boulder in front of them a few feet away.

The white and gold cub continued to frown up at the adult. She sure didn't seem to know a lot. Versiersel might be little, but she knew what claws and teeth were for! And she knew that she could hurt her siblings with more than just those! So the grownup was making no sense.
"Why should I listen to you?" the little lioness whined. She didn't want to listen to a grownup who made no sense. Not that she really thought she could escape in the long run, but it was worth a try! Really, it was more fun to kick the rock without any instructions at all, and she didn't see why this grownup was trying to tell her what to do.

Khepri shrugged not really sure. She sighed and smiled. "I suppose I wouldn't listen to me either." She giggled. She really wasn't good with cubs, she noticed. Or maybe she was just going about this all wrong? Khepri was confusing herself more and more. She shook her head and shrugged it off for a moment.
"Well, it's to see how far you can kick." She said thinking of a good reason on why she'd pick a spot to kick at. It was a good distance away, and perhaps it was good practice. "If you're really strong, you can kick the rock far." She was really just trying to wing it. Strange place, this was. It didn't make sense to her at all. She had wondered in and became trapped.

Wait...the grownup wouldn't listen to herself? Now that made no sense at all and was super confusing. 'Siersel was quickly losing whatever respect she might have accorded the adult based on the older lioness' age. Grownups weren't supposed to be as silly as cubs, they were supposed to be big and smart and know things!
"Maybe I don't want to kick the rock after all," she informed the white lioness primly, suspicion touching her pale eyes. The cub felt no need to prove her strength to this weirdo grownup.
"Why don't you make me?" Versiersel continued challengingly.

Khepri was taken aback. Not only were the adults rather strong-willed and feisty, so were the cubs. "Oh! You have quite the spark in you!" She said with taking a small step back from the cub, which in doing so, she ended up tripping over herself and falling to her butt.
She laughed nervously. This wasn't a good first day doing..... whatever it was she was suppose to be doing. Mostly being told what to do, she thought. "I... Can't make you do anything." She needed direction, something... She was a follower, not a leader. She felt like crying, but the tears wouldn't come... yet.

Versiersel watched the grownup act even clumsier than her brothers. Of course she had a spark, her mom told her and her siblings that a lot. Proudly. Because it meant that they were good Stormborn and would grow up to be strong.
And now the white lioness was saying she couldn't make 'Siersel do anything? Well, it was obvious, of course, that she couldn't, but to admit it was an even bigger weakness. The cub's expression morphed into a sneer as she eyed the lioness who was now much closer to her own level.
"Well then," was all the younger lion said before turning her tail and heading back home. This was booooooring. She might as well go pick a fight with one of her brothers instead. At least that would be interesting.

Khepri wasn't exactly sure what had just happened. She sat there just staring at the cub. It seemed that this was going to be quite the hell to Khepri's new life. She wasn't sure how to take it all in. What was she doing her? She watched the cub leave, and as she got far enough away, Khepri broke in tears. Finally. Alone. It was too overwhelming for her...
