Gaia's new sister site is up. It is flooded over with porn, there are no age restrictions to signing up, it is funded with our money here from Gaia Online, it is of course fully tied to Gaia Online through their fully Gaia Online staff, Gaia Online forums and Gaia Online NPCs everywhere.

I decided to check out their site because I was checking to see what type of site it was, because I had my suspicions it might be porn-related. When I noticed I could just go on and look, no form of blocking whatsoever, I thought, maybe it's only as people had said before, that it was just aimed for more mature audiences/ conversations/ etc. I let my guard down.

Then I saw their forum pages.

The porn in and of itself wasn't bad enough. It is unrestricted, unchecked, no limitations that I can detect, and I don't even care if there were limitations in their ToS. It's still completely wrong. One person even posted an animated gif (real video, not pixel/ paint/ whatever) of a violent rape against what looked to be a teenage girl.

The name of the website itself is even a reference to violent rape scenes in anime. It is being used as a pun, as a joke.

That is it. I want nothing more to do with Gaia Interactive, because that site is an open picture of what they believe is permissible, what they like, what they even think is FUNNY!

I am going to message all my friends and exchange contact information as quickly as I can, and wrap up a few loose ends, say goodbye in all my guilds, and I am done. I'm sorry that it has to end in this way, I'm sorry it is so abrupt.

My prayer request? That God deals with this issue and eliminates it swiftly.

I have been looking around the forums, and searching on Google and what not to see if their sister site is up, and from what I gather it is not. No announcements as far as I know have been made of any grand opening. You are right that the content will be 18+ and this is why I will no longer buy anything with cash from Gaia, because it will be used funding the sister site. There is several problems With an 18+ site since they started of as a pg 13 site. How will they be able to enforce 18+ requirement to join? I think a lot of users here might get exposed to 18+ material they otherwise would not see.

It *is* indeed up, it's just tricky to find it. I've been there. The staff is all the same, they do not hide anything about it, and that is also confirmed by some of Gaia staff here talking about it in at least one thread in the forums (I believe that thread was moved to the Recycle Bin, however; the OP of that particular thread was protesting his/ her first thread being moved to the RB).

I don't know what you've seen that said it is not up, but it is most DEFINITELY active.

Also, because of the PG 13 nature of Gaia Online, there is no reason for me to believe they will ever announce it here, but it is likely that anyone who received an email about it back when they first announced their intentions to make it (as I did) has received another email announcing its opening.

It is repugnant, and I hope it sinks. Like people are no exposed enough to pornography as it is, even on so-called pornography free sites like Gaia.

Edit;
I see that you are right. My mistake. I recognize some of the moderators there.
I advice anyone reading this against visiting or looking for the site, and against spending real money on Gaia if this is what it is going towards.

I'm very sorry I even had to break it to you in the first place. :/

I know that I could technically stay, but... Honestly, after seeing it, my life on Gaia could never be the same. I can't see myself remaining here, knowing who my authorities here are, knowing who will hold me to one set of morals here which don't apply in the OTHER place that they are authorities in. For instance, if I report an NSFW image in a thread somewhere, all I'll be able to think is that whoever reads my filing ticket is going to punish the person here, but that person will be more than welcome at the other site with no questions.

But on top of that, I feel like I can't face the people I talk to regularly on Gaia who have decided to join there too. I mean, I'm pretty sure some of my friends that I've given my contact info to already have, although most of them have stated they don't look at the NSFW forum... But at the very least I won't ever have to be even indirectly exposed to it, like seeing the forum threads about it, in-guild conversations about who their favorite artist is, or what they do or don't like about the site, an so on.

Once again, I'm sorry it had to go this way.

I'm *really* sorry that it had to happen a day or two after being promoted in one guild and then allowed to join this guild. That was just too short. I barely had a chance to get to know this guild that much, and I'm especially going to miss the people in all my guilds.

I am staying. If everyone who's a Christian left due to the decisions of the owner then there would be a very one sided user-base on this site, and little chance of someone coming across the Gospel or Christ spoken of in positive terms (Matthew 5:14-15), or the chance to influence Gaia in a positive direction. I am sorry to see you leave so soon, but I understand your decision and I wish you the best out there in the real world! God bless you!

John 17:14-19
I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

I agree with you completely, and I understand. Gaia still needs a few Christians around, and nobody can ever make the claim that they "never heard". I'm not asking other people to quit (I hope I never came across that way; if so I'm very sorry). I just personally can't stay. I also have a personal reason that the other site affected me the way it did, but I'll leave that out of the conversation today. (No, it wasn't that I was ever addicted to porn or anything like that... let's just say there have been a few other people in my life who were, and it left its damage.)

Well, God's blessings to you and everyone on this guild. Thank you so much for welcoming me in, and for your understanding. *Hugs.* I'll miss being able to join discussions in these guilds. Perhaps I will join one or two more while I'm on the way out the door.

Briefly.

Okay. As of today I will no longer continue in discussions in any of my guilds. I will instead be starting and continuing such discussions on my new website, http://brothersandsistersinjesus.freeforums.org/. Please feel free to join, as I am in need of new members to have discussions with.

Thank you for the short amount of time I have spent in these discussions with you all, and please don't be shy about joining my new place. 3nodding Love and God's blessings to all of you.

~Kitti.
