User ImageAMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Quinn Tremaine/ QTver2.7
Nicknames: QT (cutie), Quinn, Q, Buffering, Reboot
Gender: Female
Age: 16

Faction: Reaper
Race: Mechromancer.
A race known for its mastery over machines, QT has replaced quite a bit of her biological body with mechanical parts to fully utilize and stabilize her relationship with her mechanical cohorts.

Natural Ability:
Energy manipulation.
QT is able, because of her natural reaping ability and newfound mechanical parts, is able to effect energy fields and electricity around her. In fact, she frequently absorbs and releases excess energy from the unit on her torso which opens up when drawing in or dispelling energy matter. Don't let her near fragile electric equipment when she's too revved up, or the discharge can magnetize and ruin it. As an added effect, her energy discharges are also rather hot, and while not as deadly as an actual laser or electricity, they CAN leave burns should you happen to get in the way accidentally though she tries not to let herself get backed up THAT much.**

**very RARELY will her energy discharge or intake be used offensively or on purpose against someone else unless in a very dire situation/preapproved and agreed upon circumstance. Mostly it's there for IC purposes and roleplay shenanigans. You can expect to see the mechanical minipets in her room frequently scrubbing the walls and floors clean of scorch marks for instance. Or perhaps someone can complain she's got too much buildup since the usually unnoticeable air from her multiple 'vents' installed let off hotter and hotter heat the more pent up she is. When she uses magic, as Reapers are wont to do, it reacts the same way as too much energy and she cannot use much at any one time due to the issue.

Personality:
Mile a Minute.
Quinn was already rather smart though her bubbly demanor may not always make you think so. Now that she has a processor (it's in her headphones, which transmit signals to a chip in her brain) backing up all her knowledge to dataspace, she can process things even FASTER than she used to. While it makes her incredibly smart and a rather good asset with numerical and factual data input, the more into a conversation she gets, the more animatedly and laughably fast she SPEAKS.

Often losing her patience at having to repeat herself, QT can't understand why none of her friends can keep up with the way she talks, and makes it very painfully clear how much she disdains slowing down for you to the point of talking. like. this...just. to. make. sure. you. are. hearing. her. you. last...season... hardware.

Gargoogled It.
Also due to her microprocessor, if QT's eyes go particularly blank, she is most likely on the InterWEBs either playing games, chatting, Gargoogling, or YouTombing. She's always up on the up and up news, and is quick to call you on your BS if you are blatantly lying about something.

Humans can withstand temperatures of 800 degrees Celcius? Wrong. You would not have heard them screaming at that point silly dragon, they would have melted and burnt away at a much lower temperature. DID YOU KNOW THE VELOCITY OF AN UNENCUMBERED AFRICAN PIXIE IS SIGNIFICANTLY GREATER THAN A CORNISH PIXIE CARRYING A COCONUT!?! She often gives herself away when she's online, by gasping or reacting to something as if it were on an actual screen instead the back of her eye lenses.

Cute baby hellhound learning how to howl? It'll most likely get a girlish squeal of adorable delight. Jump scare video? She'll probably fall out of her chair while screaming 'FOR THE LOVE OF JACK!'

0982344 ERROR
Occasionally her hardware interacts in funny ways with her biological functions and emotions. While trying to turn emotions such as being smitten or embarassed into actual data, her eyes will occasionally go blank, and she'll blurt out random error codes. Occasionally said error codes will actually effect her body.

Ever feel weak in the knees when your crush walks by? QT does too, only literally. Some of her error codes effect the boosting hydrolics in her new system, including motor functions. The faster her heart beats from fear or happy endorphins, the more likely she is to 'reboot' and turn off for a second into sleeper mode, only to boot up again as if nothing's happened after discharging a large amount of heat during the process. Her elder brother and minipets affectionately call her Reboot for just this purpose.

She also uses error codes in conversation when she's feeling particularly sassy. If she ever tells you 404Error, that's her way of saying 'I don't give a flying gargoyle's tail about what you're talking about, please stop or I will go on the InterWEB and ignore you.'

Dramatize me, Cap'n.
The type of girl that's so naturally plugged in to social media as she is, obviously is highly connected to information. And my, does she abuse it.

Her ScareBook is constantly updated, her InstaGhoul and SpookChat bombarded with pictures of her food, day to day life, friends, and the occasional duckfaced selfie. She religiously checks her friends and classmates pages, always looking for the newest dish. A terrible gossip, don't post anything online you don't want everyone knowing around her, telling her directly is even worse. She's a good source of information if you want to know the Who's Who of the school, or pertinent information about the goings on in Amityville in general.

As she grows, this will change and she'll learn the value of keeping your friends secrets close and your enemies secrets closer to use later as blackmail, but for now, she's got the loudest and most publicly connected mouth in school most likely.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
Her entire family has attended, and it is the hope of her parents that the school help to reign in her obsession with the family specialty, and stop augmenting herself before she's more machine than reaper.

They'd also like her to find a balance between her natural reaping abilities/energy and her mechanical energy, as the two seem to feed off each other, causing overheats and discharges that QT can't always control. Energy management classes are most certainly in her future.

FEAR Ability:
Clockwork -- Charge Type Fear
QT transfers energy to a variety of small, mechanical creatures. Usually a hodgepodge of parts and small piercing objects such as sharp metal, needles, or knives, and sends them out at a distance. A ranged attack, though if she becomes too far away (30ft MAXIMUM) she cannot transfer threads of energy to the machines in a steady enough flow to keep them operating. Very similar to a horde of bees. Small, mostly ineffectual alone, but able to attack multiple targets and distract nicely.

Physical Description:

Eye Colour: Pink, with medium blue sclera. In all actuality, these are lenses installed over her eyes. Her natural eyecolor is a paler pink, almost white while her sclera remain the same.
Hair Colour/Style: Dark blue/raven. natural.
Skin Colour: Pale, almost white. Can hardly tell the difference between skin and mechanical additions.
Clothing Style/Colours: Cold colors. Blues, blacks, silvers, and small sprinklings of hot pink/red.
Extra: Various wires connecting enhanced hydrollics, vents installed in both skin and mechanical parts/clothes to prevent overheating.

While adorable, I am not sure this concept is right for the shop canon. I'm sorry to say it since you definitely have strength in your writing and characterization and clearly put a lot of work into this profile!

- For the most part she seems much too sci-fi for the accepted standard. The level of mechanization in her body leans much more towards a robot or a construct of some kind, but also the high level of technology is a bit TOO high for Halloween, especially to be a year 1 student. The only comparable technology in our setting would be the runic tech of hunters and that just isn't in the grasp of a y1 halloween teenager. In the past even steampunk style constructs were turned down as concepts. There's a definite line between sci-fi and horror in our setting!

- There's nothing in particular that says 'Reaper'. In general the Reapers look the most human of all the races. Their defining feature is their familiar or their weapon. Your girl here, while humanoid, is more machine than human and lacks a weapon or a familiar of any kind. See our Reaper guide for more details!

- While well thought out, almost every aspect of her personality is intertwined with her high level of technology. What would she be without it?

Suggestions:

I think you can still work with your concept but may need to step back quite a ways. You could still make her a reaper, one with an affinity for inventing perhaps, with either a useful weapon/tool or perhaps a familiar that she created or put together. We have some inventors in the mix of students already but the most they have created are small rudimentary mechanical bots and simple systems to ease their dorm life. The sleek super advanced appearance of the technology you have here would probably still be too advanced.

Take her back to 'level 1'! She can be smart without having a chip in her head. She can be a know it all, internet addict without having it built into herself. She can get stuttery and faint when dealing with odd emotions without it being a 'hardware issue'! Perhaps because of her addiction to the internet she has an emotional disconnect.. and relates everything in her world to things like memes and blog references? Take the tech (literally) out of the girl and let us know who she is!

The idea that she's replaced her own parts with tech is just a bit too advanced, especially for a first year student in the school. Consider the students all to be itty bitty babies when it comes to experience and abilities! For the most part, she would (if you wanted her to remain a reaper) look human.

It may also be helpful for you, if you want to continue with the concept of a mechromancer, to really detail what that subspecies IS. Do they simply invent? Do they infuse mechanisms with FEAR in some way? It may help you flesh out how she fits in with her own society and with those outside of it.

If you are feeling lost and unsure what level of inventing/technology would be acceptable for your reaper, feel free to ask a GM in the Q&A thread. I would also do this if you in some way want to make her a construct (like a golem or living armor), in which case she would be the creation of someone else, but also would be necessary for you to really pin down the level of acceptable technology with a GM. Remember that Halloween is a bit of a parallel to our real world so the most 'space-age' looking everyday tech for a normal resident or student would be an iPod or iPhone (eyePod & eyePhone ;D ).

Thanks so much for getting back to me!
Hmm. May have to shelf QT and come out with another concept I think would fit more naturally here.

Thank you either way, I'll either rework her, or move onto a different concept and keep her tucked away for something else!
