In order to reach Wikstrom and see what he knows about his cousin, the king of Kalos, Blizzard must first make his way up the ranks of nobility through the Battle Chateau. This will be especially difficult for him as the people of Kalos (especially the nobles) look down on hybrids. Blizzard however was chosen for this as his challenge would have the most effect on the public. A hybrid ascending the ranks of nobility, the lowest of the low rising above the commoners. How will his journey to become the Noble Hybrid turn out?

Blizzard however was chosen for this as his challenge would have the most effect on the public. A hybrid ascending the ranks of nobility, the lowest of the low rising above the commoners. How will his journey to become the Noble Hybrid turn out? With the best team I could assemble, I made my way to Route 7. With the team having to put on a Team Rocket ploy to throw things into disarray between the likes of the Rockets and Team Flare, I had to arrange that a back up plan was good and set. Going on Toren's information, we had to infiltrate the likes of the nobility in this region. The main target was Wikstrom. As far as I could understand, not only he is a close buddy of the king, but for that matter, he was one of the Elites that reside over the Pokemon League of this region, specializing in the likes of Steel types to establish his iron-clad dominance. Figures that it'd be steel types. As if I didn't get enough from Toren as is. It wasn't going to be easy, that much I knew. So many things could go wrong, but if nothing else, I could just as well get information about Lysandre and his plans, regardless of the outcome. That said, the situation is extremely volatile. I'm literally putting myself in a pack of wolves. So much attention was going to get grabbed for sure. Fortunately, this was just another day... I found my way to the mansion and looked up at the massive structure. This regal stone structure stood tall before a large river. A serene look, no matter how one cuts it. Well...here goes something... I made my way to the door of the mansion.

The door to the mansion would open up seemingly on its own, the true culprit behind its opening was a butler, rather stereotypical looking. Upon seeing Blizzard he immediately began to close the door again, not saying a word to him, however making the definition of turning his nose at him.

"Of course you know, this isn't going to be enough to make me leave. You could let me in and battle in peace, or you can leave me out, and drive away your other frequent visitors upon seeing me down the road on their approach. I'm sure you love your money more than your own pride."

I stepped inside and took a look around. Someone really took great care in making this place, that much is for certain. Someone also paid a pretty penny to that someone too, I'd imagine. These marbled halls, decored with various drapes and sashes...rugs majestic...wood doors, finely polished and carved. Statues of various stature. Gold, bronze, marble...all sorts, carefully placed and accented.

A maid would instantly greet Blizzard, as she had done many others before him. That said, her standard greeting was interrupted as she was taken back by the man's appearance, a hybrid. After taking several seconds to regain her composure she began to continue her speech. "You don't seem familiar, is it your first time here noble trainer? Do you require an introduction?" It was painfully obvious that she was nervous standing before a hybrid, her eyes constantly darting towards the butler behind Blizzard.

I was pointed this way to further my training, to be honest. I had a bit of a recommendation from someone back in Jhoto...apparently being an apprentice of the Mahogany gym has its perks." I said, rubbing the back of my head. "That said..." I then looked back at the butler at the door. I was going to make this guy sweat a little. "...the reception has been...pretty luke warm, tops. Apparently no one takes kind to tourists. I could swear that its one of the regions source of income." While I knew the real reason for it, I had to feign naiveness. "Intros would help, so I don't mess anything up."

Let me introduce you to the Battle Chateau. Here trainers from all over the region come together to compete against each other and earn titles of nobility. The Battle Chateau is its own noble house, sanctioned and recognized by his majesty himself. Ordinarily we require new members some sort of invitation from another member of the house in order to be admitted. Do you have any sort of invite...sir?" The maid said the last part in a rather snide, 'gotcha', tone.

"Said that this place might be a good place to look for a bit of experience; help me further with my gym leader studies and such. He saw such a place in a travel brochure and well...the rest is history. Nothing in there said anything about invite only though. Someone might want to go talk to the publishers and set the record straight, I guess."

The owner of the voice was a rather large man with enough body fat to keep him warm in the bitterest of cold. He had a thick winter coat on yet instead of wearing it as intended he wore it like a cape. The white mustached man would approach the maid and hybrid pair, arms folded as he arrived at their center of conversation. "I couldn't help but hearing, stranger, that you studied under the legendary Pryce! The Teacher of Winter's Harshness! I've never met the man but I've heard so many things about him, he and I are a lot alike you know. Well, except I think I got a few pounds over him! Hoho!" The man said with a hearty laugh. "You! How can we deny a student of a foreign gym leader the privilege of showing us a thing or two how they battle outside of Kalos? I'm inviting the strange one to join!" He shouted at the maid, yet even his shouting seemed kind and well intended, and yet oh so scary. The maid would bow profusely and scurry off, promising to return shortly. In the mean time, the large man decided to talk to Blizzard some more. "Name's Wulfric, who are you, stranger?" He asked, extending a hand to be shaken.

Everyone here was apparently dressed in suits tighter than their egos and yet this guy...is real laid back. And I thought I was the only one out of place here. Still though, this plays right into my favor...I couldn't have asked for a better coincidence. "Friends call me Blizzard." I said. "Apprentice of the Mahogany Gym." I took his hand and gave it a shake. "I wouldn't have imagined anyone out this way to know about teacher - seems like no one else know all that much, though...I can only assume you, yourself, are a gym leader, yourself? Either that or you're quite knowledgeable in world affairs one. Regardless, I'll try not to disappoint. I've got a reputation to establish, apparently..."

Yes, I am a gym leader, the leader of the Snowbelle City gym. Being an Ice type specialist myself, I tend to keep tabs on other masters of the type, you see. Especially Brycen! Have you seen the Brycen-Man series? I can't help but cry at the newest movie..." The hefty man put a fist up to his mouth, choking back what sounded like a cry yet was deep like a growl. "Any who, I hope you'll do your teacher proud. It was a pleasure to meet you, Blizzard. Tell your teacher that Wulfric of Snowbelle sends his regards. Maybe one day we can sit down to a nice big meal together! Hoho! See you later, strange one." Wulfric would wave goodbye as he walked off into a nearby hallway, his loud booming voice could still be heard as he happily greeted each and every person along the way. Man that would be a hard voice to get used to. "Forgive my tardiness, sir." The maid said to Blizzard as she came back and bowed deeply before him, the lingering tone of resentment towards him was still there. "Smile for the camera." A bright flash would go off after her request for a smile, the maid having used what looked like an old time camera to take Blizzard's picture, whether or not he was ready. "I will get you in our records right away. If I overheard right you are called Blizzard, yes? Baron Blizzard, we welcome you to the nobility of the Battle Chateau. Baron is the rank or title you currently hold, at the very bottom (where you'll hopefully stay). Right now only other Barons or Baronesses will be willing to fight you. You see, members of different classes ordinarily do not mingle. You can raise your rank by winning battles and fighting higher ranked nobles, should they prove willing to lower their standards." She said fighting back a laugh. "Regardless, Baron Blizzard, welcome to the Battle Chateau. You may roam the halls at your leisure. If you need anything, anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask. Enjoy yourself." Each word seemed harder and harder for her to force out.

I then said, taking out a Pokeball.

A group of three nicely dressed young women were gathered in the middle of a hallway to Blizzard's left, it was hard not to hear their blabber from here. "So now daddy is paying the best breeder in the region to breed me a shiny Fennekin, because daddy gets me whatever I want." The girl continued. "Well like, so what? You're still a Baroness, having a shiny Pokemon won't change that. Besides, my daddy is going to buy me a Cherish Ball!" Another girl spoke up. The third didn't say much it seemed, she just listened to them while stroking her Furret fur stole.
