Apprenticeship positions are applicable to Drummers, Dancers, Singers, Guards, Ambassadors, and Hunters/Huntresses. While in many other prides the term suggests someone yet to master their craft, in the Nchi it is just the opposite; those with 'apprentice' before their title are the best of their lot, and among the pool of candidates ready to be voted into a leadership rule when their mentor steps down or dies.

There are usually 3-5 of these ranks total, and out of those numbers, there are usually only 1-2 apprentices. It has no perks other than lots more work and potential leadership in the future. Think of it as internship.

Things to note:

• The Lead Dancer does NOT decide who is a Dancer, only who his or her apprentices are. Regular Dancers, Singers, etc. are approached by the Malenga. The same is true for every rank except Guard. The Captain has the right and the authority to choose who follows him and dismiss members he sees as unfit for service if he can reasonably prove it's for their safety and/or the safety of others.

• Most apprentices will be accepted, however it's simply unrealistic (not to mention boring!) to assume IC favoritism will never play a factor in who apprentices are. For example:

Bob is the Lead Dancer. Joe is a Dancer, and would make a great Apprentice, but Bob personally dislikes Joe because they frequently argue. Bob is also kind of a jerk, despite being good at his job, so he refuses to promote Joe. Joe has the option of dealing with it or, if he's ballsy enough, going to the Malenga with an official complaint.

• The more active your character, the more likely they'll not only gain apprenticeship, but eventual leadership positions. Please don't apply characters you never plan to RP or who are not a good fit IC just for the rank.

Yeah, yeah. So what's the process and how do I apply?

Step 1: Fill out the form below and post.
Step 2: Wait a week. Hopefolly will send a notice to the person playing the authority figure relevant to your character for their acceptance or denial. If a week goes by with no response, characters are automatically accepted.
Step 3: You're accepted! Carry on.
or
Your character was rejected. You'll be given a proper explanation as to why and if applicable your character may then proceed to complain IC.
