As much as Maysa enjoyed the attention she always got from males and even females of a certain persuasion, she couldn't help but feel lonely at the moment. She was in need of a great conversation where she didn't always have to be on guard, caution of what she said or how she said it. Males in the past had misunderstood her whether on purpse or not it was nice to have a conversation with someone not looking for anything beyond a companion. Another woman of some sort to exchange stories. A reminder that it wasn't only her beautiful coat that attracted such attention. That she wasn't alone in this.

Sometimes, other females were just better company and that's what Maysa wanted at the moment. No flirting. No teasing. No attempt to take it further.

Gathering a few coconuts, Maysa walked to a shaded tree to bunk down under during the highest point of the sun as was her habit. The coconuts would keep her hydrated during the heat of midday. And the flesh was one of her favorite treats. One that wasn't always available unless she was close to the sea, which she was today. Rare, but appreciated. The sparkling blue sea crashed rhythmically against the shore. Lulling and relaxing. Not exactly what Maysa wanted, but it would do.

The unexpected sounds had confused the dark brown lioness and attracted her. It was a deep sound. A continuous sound that she felt in her bones more than heard, she'd say. Curiosity lead her toward it. She simply must find out the cause of it. Kynthia stopped at the top of a rise. Her jaw hanging open. So much water and it kept moving in. Like the little waves she'd seen on river or pond edges, but so much bigger.

This was what was causing the sound. The lioness stayed where she was as she studied the vast expanse of water. It didn't sound dangerous, or look dangerous, but she knew absolutely nothing about it. Her ears perked forward and then back. A low noise, but it fulled her ears and made it hard for her to hear other things. Like a lion sneaking up on her. She glanced around but didn't see anyone immediately. Her attention turned back to the water and she studied it some more.

The salt water crashing against the shore always relaxed Maysa. Even though she knew that the human animals weren't that far from salt waters, this was a spot she had traveled to before on many occasions. She had scoped it out and knew the furless and fur-envious weren't anywhere nearby.

Maysa sank down to lay facing the ocean and stabbed her claw into the coconut. With one good jab down, the coconut fell into two halves with some of its milk spilling out on either side.

The sweet smell of the milk had Maysa grinning and closing her eyes in bliss. When Maysa opened her eyes, she saw the dark chocolate brown lioness staring at the sea, mystified. Maysa smiled as she watched the lioness. She knew exactly how she felt. It was actually rather close to her own reaction that first time.

"Hey there. You alright?"

Shaking off her dead-fish look, the lioness took stock of her surroundings. She was not alone here as she first thought. A voice rising above the noise of the waves drew her eyes to the gloriously sunset colored lioness. Kynthia nodded her head slowly.

"Aye, just a bit startled that water could make so much noise." Never mind the amount of water before her now. She examined the female carefully. The other lioness appeared calm and even relaxed. That could only mean she had experience with this noisy water that gave her confidence. "Do you come here often?"
