Balancing herself in the higher branches of a tree Lalika looked about her new home thoughtfully. It was strange to be here surrounded by barriers of trees when once she ran freely through the open savannahs of the rogue lands. This though is much better. The lilac leopard smiled before moving through the trees some more. At first the thought of going around through the trees rather than on the solid ground had scared her, but now she found it fun to go back and forth.

If only her cubs could have seen her now.

Smiling she just shook her head, “Chui would be dancing on these trees.” The thought of her blood made her nearly falter on the branch, but the leopardess quickly caught her balance. She had managed to raise them until they were old enough then when the wander lust had caught her again Lalika had chosen to move on. They had been old enough then and she loved each dearly, but keeping them in a pride like the Shrine Keepers had been for the best. Considering they weren’t even meant for her then that was the best choice that she had.

Still odd to think how much of her life had changed because of one leopard, “Have cubs for this poor couple, he said.” She snorted softly, “Just kidding, you get to have cubs with a father who won’t ever look at you again!” No wonder she was still single and happy of it. No male was truly worth trusting in that regard it seemed. Picking up her gaze Lalika managed to make her way across another branch before sliding down the tree to a more open area.

A lonely speaker in a conversation
Her words were swimming through his ears again
There's nothing wrong with just a taste of what you've paid for

Mchezaji's voice was lilting and loud, heralding his approach even before he danced through the undergrowth. The smaller numbers of cubs and new recruits that needed his services meant that he had more time to devout to his passion; music. He danced in tune to the beat, paws spinning with precious over roots and stones.

Say what you mean
Tell me I'm right
And let the sun rain down on me
Give me a sign
I want to believe

Some of the few leopards he had managed to pass by gave him amused looks. He bowed for them, danced around and moved on. His entire life had been a sort of show until settling in the Elimisha'sombea. Here...he was able to flourish. There was a large support group that gave him as much love and care as he could show them. It was freeing.

The females that caught his gave never seemed to stay long. He was forever dreaming of his Princess that was always in the pride across the way. Although he was a father he still didn't view himself as having family. They were his family and yet they weren't. He had been deceived and in turn had deceived their mother. It was strange and yet, he had come to terms with it long ago.

Quietly ever so quietly Lalika found herself approaching a strange melody. It was oddly beautiful and strangely enchanting. Honestly she never even realized that she had started to desperately follow it until she passed across the path she had been aiming for. Where am I going? Pausing she flushed as she realized that she had been following that voice. How silly of her to be following after someone being so loud and bold in the forest. If he wasn’t in the pride he would have surely been mauled.

She bit her bottom lip thoughtfully despite her silent chastising; it was nice to hear that someone could express things so beautifully. It made her heart hurt in memory. That memory however was long ago shattered and Lalika had long told herself to back away from it. He had left her, left her with cubs not even meant for either one of them. Cubs that at first she couldn’t stand to look at without remembering him and his goofy smile…just thinking about him made her stumble. Perhaps she really was day dreaming now?

AS she came out of the brush Lalika halted in surprise. That….was not just in her mind right? But how could he be here right before her? Silently the lilac leopardess stared at Mchezaji in pure shock. No, no, no, no….he couldn’t be. Not here in her new sanctuary!

Singing to the moon and sun itself seemed to be a hobby of his. Even now that his hare friend, Mingmei, had joined the pride she found herself in a Council position, so his voice found no cause. It simply was; an echo in the trees like a strong wind. Every once in a while he would break it off with a laugh, or a little huff as his energy stores slowly ebbed away.

His sleek cream fur rolled around as he moved to his shoulders to his beat. Bright eyes took in his paws as he moved, closing after a time so that he could just feel the dance. There was nothing in the world that could break him from his reverie now.

At first she was enraptured in his song and dance so Lalika didn’t even think to move out of his sight or to run. Instead the leopardess found herself watching him still in surprise at the fact that he was here before her. After all this time….and he still seemed the same.

Perhaps it was that realization which prompted her to not hide like her old self would have. Instead Lalika took a deep breath and decided that if nothing else she would at least give him an equal shock. A tiny portion of her whispered just leave him to his amusement, but a louder part, the one that was still hurting after so long pushed her forward. Rolling on her paws the leopardess leapt forward and landed before the dancer, “You.” She spoke loudly and clearly as her tail brushed against his face as she circled back away from him and sat waiting.

Maybe if she was lucky that wasn’t enough to break him out of his dance…then she could just run.

No, no it was better if she greeted him now. Especially if he was here…in the same pride as her. Oh gods...could her heart take this?

There was very little in this world that could take the bounce from Mchezaji's step. The music of life seemed to vibrate within his very cells to the point that he was music itself.

That being said having the leopardess from ones past suddenly leap out before him scared him into a scream. He jumped back, his song ripped from his throat and a look of confused horror on his face. Was this some kind of trick? She didn't seem exactly thrilled to see him again, and the tail swipe was met with stiff acknowledgement. Why was she here, invading his sanctuary?

"What are you doing here, Lalika?"

No, no, no, no.He had settled everything from his past, right? What was done had been done and couldn't be changed, so why did she have to come here?

His scream made her nearly jump back. Was she that scary a sight to him? No…hopefully it was just because she had startled him. A bit of regret for making him so startled flickered across her features before she stubbornly pushed it off. She had already allowed her temper to jump into action and so now here she was staring down the male who had made such an impact on her life.

At his question her gaze widened in shock, “I was about to ask you the same thing.” Her heart was going crazy from hearing her name again and the leopardess had to brace herself from running. No, no! She was determined to remember why she was here and what he had done to her. Not who he had been to her, not anything like that. He was a random rogue who had misled her. Wasn’t she just bitter that he had made her feel something then just left her?

Nope, nope, nope…

She didn’t like him that was all. (Right?) He was just too carefree and now it looked like she could teach him a lesson, “I live here though.” Lalika added on, “Are you just visiting through this place as well?” The question was direct and bold with a hint of accusation towards him. As it was just doing such a thing made her paws itch to run.
