LOST CLAN CREATION FORM

The Horseman
Name: Sindri (a very common, if old fashioned name)
Nicknames:
Gender: Female
Age: appearance is late teens/early 20s

Original Clan: Death

Job Role: Jewel Crafter

Personality:

neutral: Straight-faced, wanderer, dreamer, understated irreverence
positive: Intuitive, faithful, sincere, creator, calm
negative: Liar, lazy, unreliable, prone to whimsy, casually rude

The story so far:

As someone drawn to the Jewel Crafting profession from a very young age, Sindri has always felt most at home among forges and in mines, but a wandering nature and willingness to follow where fate seems to lead, means she had not been to the islands in well over a decade when they were destroyed.

An ancient map alongside various signs led her over, under, and through mountains of both Halloween and the Human World, seeking out a legendary trove of jewels and metals, precious for not simply their beauty, for their special properties in holding power.

Unfortunately she never quite found it and instead got magnificently lost for years.

Spiritual matters:

Her family was always very spiritual, even amongst those of the Death Clan, and Sindri has continued the tradition by collecting and referring to even the most archaic and unusual of rituals, portents, and philosophies. She is both extremely serious about these and also very full of straightfaced bullshit. Referring to signs and omens over even the most mundane of activities, there's a chance that she believes what she says, she's making up s**t as an excuse or just because it's funny, or she's making up bullshit but she sincerely believes in said bullshit with all her heart.

Heeding signs and omens and waiting for the correct phase of the moon and astral alignments appears most often in her work. Sindri has never once met a deadline, a fact she openly prides herself in. How thoughtless it would be, to adhere to a set amount of time without considering the most propitious day to heat the forge. How careless to set hammer to steel when you dropped a comb mere hours earlier. In short: the longer it takes to finish a task, the more responsible the Crafter. It does lend a certain mystique to her work to those willing to humor her.

If there is a priestess at hand, she feels no qualms in approaching them for questions ranging from requesting deeply meaningful guidance to what seems pointlessly trivial and obscure. This was a troublesome habit before she left, though possibly not in this new version of her clan.

At the end of the day, despite her particular sense of humor, Sindri's faith in Death is bone deep and unwavering.

Homecoming:

She overheard of its destruction from strangers, mages huddled in a small mountain inn who didn't recognize Sindri for what she was. Shocked that such a thing could happen without sign or warning, without a sense of impending dread or even a nightmare, she began the long pilgrimage to what was once home.

The questions of how and why circled her constantly for nearly every step of the journey, causing the normally very calm horsewoman to go through long bouts of rage and melancholy and even a sort of giddy, manic hilarity provoked by the utter nonsense of such an occurrence being possible. All along the way, Sindri performed the small rituals of Death and all that touched Death; rituals passed down through family, observed in the temples, ferreted from crumbling tomes with lewd drawings that must be some sort of delightful joke. Perhaps to try and settle her heart, perhaps to somehow find a way to make it not so, perhaps to simply do something, anything, to feel purposeful in the face of such loss.

What came in the end was, of course, acceptance through faith and a strengthening of that faith through acceptance. It was such a massive event that loomed well above one such as she. Any such signs foretelling the tragedy were likely too large her to even perceive. But Death was also a momentous being-existence-concept-god who loomed on high, anywhere and everywhere, and he would have seen. He would have known and if he allowed such events to pass, then he had a reason for it.

And no matter what her losses may be, they were not a consideration in the face of that reason.

Having found a sort of resolution, Sindri began the journey to the new home of the surviving clan members and quickly became very, very lost. A years later, she found the Tower through a series of twisted paths and maze-like directions that she'd very reasonably claim were entirely on purpose.

Upon arriving at the Tower and learning of recent events, Sindri's previous resolution remains true: Death has a reason.

Hobbies:
These often serve as a form of relaxation, spiritual meditation/seeking signs, and also inspiration for her work.

Cloud gazing (this sometimes leads to another hobby: napping)
Tea drinking (doesn't care for the taste, just drinks it for the leaves left over in the cup)
Pipe smoking (preferring the fragrant variety, not unlike incense, she is very good at smoke rings)
Collecting old books, scrolls, and manuscripts (not for the admiration of craftsmanship or out of true scholarship, but for the endless amount of outdated trivia)
Crafting small, simple bells and chimes (she likes the way they sound, and when a breeze swings by, it's like they're talking, like they're little friends and gossips)
Cursed Jewelry (she finds the cursed gems of the Human World to be fascinating and almost romantic in the strings of death and misfortune that follow them, it's a bit like keeping track of your favourite celebrities)
Getting lost (she has all the time in the world)

Mount Form: A fat little white pony, mostly used as a glorified step stool to reach high places.

Weapon Form: A short, slim scimitar with a shape similar to this shameless reference.

FEAR ATTACK:

Astra inclinant, non necessitant: The stars and signs are in agreement that now is the time to strike. Putting her faith in this, Sindri's energy and drive to strike increases. There is a distinct possibility Sindri will land a heavy blow, but also maybe not. (uses: Y2 Battle Cry) (uses: Y1 Swift Strikes) <-- same flavour different rolls.

Ad astra per aspera: Sindri focuses her fear in quiet prayer to aid her through current hardships. (uses: Y2 Chill)

Physical Description:

exclaim Please refer to this outfit guide for horsemen! exclaim

Eye Colour: whited eyes ~ ! no pupil or iris!
Hair Colour/Style: pale blonde, Lagertha's hair in Vikings is a general style inspiration ~
Skin Colour: dark olive
Clothing Style/Colours: not too heavy, usually with some form of smith's apron or belt. Her style ranges from practical to whimsical, but for her daily work, travels, and life in general, keeps to the more practical end of the spectrum, though there's usually an odd touch here and there regardless.
Outside she very nearly always wears a scarf or mask to cover her lower face, which combined with her eyes can make her expressions hard to read. OTHER FASHIONS ALSO
Extra:
she has a variety of piercings in her ears (which sometimes have small charms or stones added depending what the day's signs seem to be) and two studs above her left eyebrow
her build is 5' even with a wiry, muscular build

References:

THIS RIGHT HERE BITTI IS THE BEST ~ pretty much all this right here, Tier 1 clothes would be the jumper on the left!

Backstory stuff for personal reference ~

Jora: older half sister. While their family was extremely devout, Jora had a bit stricter upbringing than the younger Sindri, resulting in a fair number of differences in the way each approaches spiritual matters and their own existence. Despite their differences, Sindri loves and looks up to her sister greatly, considering her an anchor and guiding point.
Lala: botherbotherbotherin her former priestess all the time
Ollie: I bet she told him so much bullshit
Ylaria: teacher, Sindri probably still owes homework
Lurks: met on travels, probably got him lost, SO MUCH BULLSHIT
Nergui: family friend
Asia: had a quiet century long crush on the Heir

IF ANYONE WANTS TO BACKSTORY THINGS WITH THIS b***h YAAY A+ YES PLZ
