The signs had been hard to miss, especially after seeing so many lionesses with the same symptoms. Cubs had been in Amaranth's future... Had. Now they were here, small, helpless... And like their mother, a Thrall. Nothing could be hidden from the family that ordered her around, what with so many seers in it. Susu had made CERTAIN she knew that most, if not all, would be sent away to others. She'd wanted to put them out for others to come claim as their own as soon as they were born, but Yu, Amaranth's rightful owner since he'd been the one to catch her, had insisted they wait.
And they had. Now the cubs hardly seemed to hold still, as the dark lioness tried to keep them in order. For the most part, they looked like her known family - One even strongly resembled her, and another bore markings from within her family... And the two youngest had very distinct hair. But each of them bore a little bit of their father... She closed her eyes a moment, ears folded back. She didn't want to think of him, not right now. Especially not now. She lay down, pulling her oldest son to her. "Come here, you, let me make you clean again..." The pale lioness looked up at the sky, ears back. Any time now... She looked back at the Thrall, frown on her face. If she'd timed things right in her own life... She could have stolen that pale boy with the as-pale hair and claimed him as her own. As it were, though, not only had nothing gone right and she had no cubs of her own at the moment, but Shetani had been present and assisting when every single one of the cubs was born. She'd KNOW if one of them suddenly 'showed up' as Susu's and rat her out. She let out a huff, hoping somebody took it first. Her eyes, though, were on the pink-haired boys in particular... She knew that family line, she knew it QUITE well... Not that she held any particular opinion about any of them, though. The whole family was a mixed bag, the lot of them, some better than others. Still... She wondered, as she genuinely didn't know, what the future held for the whole lot of the runts.... "Stop looking mopey, be happy I'm letting you keep ONE of them!" OOC: The family Thrall of the Reaver Yu has had cubs! 5, in fact. And Susu's insisted that most of them are booted out to other families to raise and train as their own family Thrall! OOCly, at least two lucky people will get to be the happy owners of these... Probably rather unhappy cubs. Their father is a yet-unknown Reaver(OOC note, his name is Jormungandr), somebody Amaranth isn't keen on talking about, and if Yu sees him... He'll probably be hurting later, because Yu is protective of everybody in his family, even the Thralls.
Who may join: Anybody who owns a Stormborn! This doesn't happen often, but them's the breaks this time. Thralls MAY join to talk to Amaranth - Susu will outright ignore them. How the OOC owner will be determined: A raffle. Every post is a ticket, simple as that! So if Susu's not intially impressed, your lion may keep trying to convince her! And the IC owner: Whoever can convinces Susu that they'll make a good owner for what cub. And who will she consider?: The only ones Susu's truly snubbing her nose at are Freeborn for this - She's personally got nothing against them(As most of her own children are Freeborn, as well as 'siblings'), she just feels that given the mother's spirit, a Reaver, Priestess, Lawspeaker, or higher might be better suited to handle the cubs! Which cubs are OOCly up for grabs: The girl and the white boy with the gold eyes! Which cub(s) are ICly off limits: The only one truly off-limits is the oldest boy, Anundr - He's the one that looks the most like Amaranth! How long this will last: About two weeks, OR we hit 4 pages, whichever happens first! Keep in mind that Amaranth may pick IC owners for the cubs along the way, so she may pick owners long before EITHER goal is reached! If that happens, the new Thrall-owners may talk amid themselves about future plans for their new little slaves! (Just... Please nothing TOS-breaking, or squick. These ARE still cubs, after all!) When are names needed?: Post either at the top or the bottom of your post which cub you'd want and what you'd name it! Something like this:
Quote: Which cub: Girl Name: Nessa Like that! Who are the other three cubs and who owns them?: In order of age, the other three cubs are Anundr(Looks like mom), owned by me, Reinhart(White with pink hair) owned by inglorious D, and Olaf(Other pink-haired boy), owned by me(Custom)

((OOC note: He's been on his Viking, just waiting on the mule to be an official Reaver. For the sake of the RP he is one even though his cert still says Freeborn XD Weird limbo period...)) Phosphor was still fairly new to the Stormborn, but already he was settling in quite nicely. He'd been on his first Viking and had managed to find an old friend from his dissolved pride, and now was the proud owner of a very obedient and productive Thrall. The only thing he really had left to check off on his 'Stormborn to-do' list was fight someone in their challenge, and he'd have done just about everything a Reaver had to do, outside of bring home more booty. Not bad, if he did say so himself! He was on his way to the border of the pride from his den to see if anyone wanted to try to best him in a fight, when a strange sight caught his eye. A litter of cubs and two lioness's, one rather distraught looking, the other a bit grumpy. Deciding to see what was up, he changed his course and padded over to the little cluster of lions. "Well, well...look at this little collection of potential," he rumbled in approval, stopping before the cubs. Phosphor had no drive to hurt cubs as some other males did. He knew each little heartbeat would grow stronger some day and prove the body in which it resided useful in one way or another. He lifted his gaze and flicked his tail, addressing the white lioness who seemed to be in charge. "What's the troubled look for, sister?" [For the raffle: boy cub, his name would be Tjener]

Eldahildr had a lot on her mind lately. She had more choice in her future than ever before, which both excited and scared her. Should she take a chance and talk to a captain about going on a viking? Or did she risk getting swatted over the ears and told to go back to her den like a misbehaving cub? She regretted not taking the time to get to know and know of the captains around the pride.
That wasn't the only dilemma on her mind, however. New developments with her thrall had made her consider his future, too. He was the family thrall, it was true, but more so, he was her friend. And an equally restless soul...
She was so distracted that she almost walked by two lionesses with a bundle of cubs. If it hadn't been Phosphor wandering in her path on his way towards them, she may not have noticed them at all. She followed him from some distance.
Tiny things, cubs. Eldahildr thought of her niece, then briefly shuddered. Were they all as annoying as her? Still, she approached, saying nothing but mustering up a politely curious look towards Susu.

It was good to have new cubs in the pride. Bousvor thought there had been quite a bit of that in fact lately. He smiled to himself as he went to greet the mother. The male wondered what Yu thought of the new additions. Bousvor quietly approached and paused to watch. It seemed the process was being overseen by a priestess. Good, it would keep things orderly. He let two others approach before him.
Slowly he made his way up to the two lionesses. Bousvor dipped his head gracefully to Susu then to Amaranth. "I proffer my congrats on your fine litter." Now that he was closer he took a moment to look over the young cubs. They were indeed healthy and robust. His master was going to go out, but he wasn't out of the pride yet! Ashta trotted faithfully behind the dark lion. If Phosphor didn't want him here the lion would surely order him back to the den. When the dark lion approached a littler of cubs he hung back a moment, seeing all the dark colored lions in that vicinity. So much dark pelt still sent an instinctual shiver up his spine. Slowly he creeped closer keeping his head low. Very low. Ashta rested his belly on the ground so he could peer discreetly at the cubs. There were a couple dark ones and a few white ones. He smiled to himself.Which cub: Girl Name: Therese

A few more lions made their way to the cubs, and Phosphor found himself surrounded by curious adults. He didn't mind sharing the space and backed up a little so they could all get a better look. A familiar smell caught his nose and he glanced behind him, spotting Ashta on the ground, peering between legs and paws for a better look. He gave a little chuckle and stepped back, motioning for his Thrall to come see. He liked that Thralls were treated better here, not quite as equals, but certainly more than good-for-nothings that were as useless as a rock. "Look, this little one looks a bit like you," he said, motioning with his paw to the nearly all-white male. There was a nice variety of cubs here as far as coloration went, and he could only guess as to what the father might have looked like. The mother was quite a combination, both darks and lights on her pelt. She would have been a confusing female to have back in his old pride, but here color didn't matter so much as birthright.

He blinked gratefully at his master for a chance to see the cubs. Gingerly he moved up among the dark lions. He knew Phosphor wouldn't let anyone harm him, but it was wise not to anger anyone unduly either. Ashta gave a shy smile to the mother of the cubs then quickly dropped his eyes. His attention went to the white male cub.
"Indeed he does master." Ashta examined the others of the litter from a better angle this time. They all looked healthy. Why was it that the cubs were being shown this way? The white male glanced around at the lionesses and other adults gathered for an answer.

Ensis was making his way through the pride when a gathering crowd caught his attention. Intrigued despite himself - it could hardly have anything to do with combat skills, not in this part of the pride - the whtie male wandered over to investigate. Once he had positioned himself to be able to see, his eye fell on the small pile of wriggling bodies that was apparently the focus of everyone's attention. Cubs. Well. They were cute and all, the way all small things were, but he wasn't entirely certain what was going on here. "They look as if they'll grow well," he observed aloud, hoping to figure it out without anyone telling him. He'd been here more than a year, and there were still things that made him feel the former rogue he was. This was one of them. ((Girl: Vurts - Estonian, spice))

The priestess took a seat, admiring some of the lions coming to inspect the cubs. Clearly she'd chosen a good spot. She gave Phosphor a nod. "Our Thrall here got pregnant. These are the result..." She motioned with a paw. "Care for one?" Or two, or all... Admittedly, Susu HAD wanted the Thrall to have cubs... But not so many. Life seemed to work out funny that way. She felt it a hard choice which one to let her keep around, and the lioness planned to make sure the cub was well-trained by the time he grew up. He'd be proud to be a Thrall when she was done. She glanced at Bousvor, a friend of Yu's, as well as Ensis. "They'll make good Thralls one day, I'm sure of it."
Amaranth shifted where she lay, not making eye contact with any of the Reavers. She did, however, glance at Ashta when Phosphor mentioned how one of the cubs looked like him. Yes, admittedly, her palest son DID look like this other Thrall. Part of her did wish... Though that'd make things more complicated, wouldn't it? She spread her paws, letting him have a better look as she offered him something she rarely gave - A smile. "Do you want a better look...?"

Phosphor glanced at the pale female as she spoke, his brows raising in interest. Thralls, hm? He turned to look at the cubs once again as she offered them up for the taking. He could see why having five cubs might be an issue, since cubs took up a lot of time and effort for the Thralls that she already had, but one? One that he could raise to carry his ideals and help him, once it was hold enough, to assist Ashta with his duties? Surely his Thrall and friend would like some company.
"I wouldn't mind, in all honesty," he said, lowering his head as he moved forward to sniff them in turn. "If you truly are simply giving them away," he added, lifting his head to face the pale female again. "There's no requirements?" He'd gladly take any of them off her paws, and he could assure her a safe and happy life...so long as they listened, of course. But being able to raise a cub along side an already perfect Thrall made it something he wasn't concerned about at all.
"What do you say, Ashta? Think you could teach one of these cubs the ins and outs of being a Thrall?" The duties would fall to the pale lion beside him, mostly. There would be time for Phosphor to leave his mark, but for hunting and sleeping and playing purposes, it would be Ashta who did the brunt.

There seemed to be a gathering, a grouping, of sorts, but his two companions knew not the origins. K'Anatak walked beside them, one on either side, though hidden beneath the guise of a mortal. Though he came to these lands by some sort of pull, which brought him to his lighter companion, Fen'li, he did not wish to disturb the peace with his presence.
Though it did not stifle his intrigue either.
"Care to see what causes the commotion?" he proposed, Fen'li seemed excited and nodded, while the darker of the two, like a shadow, huffed.
"What for? I care not to delve into a situation where I must lower myself, again," Karm would strive one day to raise herself up. Or, though she hated to admit it to herself, find a companion of her own that would treat her with respect, and she might, might, tolerate the rank of thrall.
"Why not walk on?"
"Why not inquire, Karm? So doubtful of the world, let us see other light beyond your eyes," Fen'li said with a smile, "can we?" she posed to K'Anatak, and he nodded. "Will you come though, closer?" and he shook his head. He would watch from a close distance, so that if there was any sort of scuffle, he would be near.
"I understand." Karm huffed at it, and the two females left their stark white companion near a stone several strides away.
As they got closer, Karm stopped when she saw a very, very familiar face, a reaver whom they had spoken with several times before. Bousvor. She kept her eyes down and away. best not start anything. Especially when, Karm noticed, the grouping was directed as an even smaller group of pride members. Small storms, early into the world. Cubs.
Her heart reached out to them, he tail flicked as she looked onwards at whom she spotted as the mother. The markings were distinct. The situation, here, Karm wondered, would she and Fen'li come to the same fate? She looked to Fen.
Fen'li peered over to K'A, and he nodded at her again, she crouched, slightly, as to be lower in front of the others present, the males, respect, though Karm did not as much. She wished to speak, but waited so that she might be motioned to. Respect, honor - or engage a storm. Quote: Which cub: Boy Name: Amarog - wolf in Inuit

BousvorAn adult white lion trying to peer between the legs of the others brought a faint smile to his lips. The male looked like a cub trying to get a peek. He glanced at strikingly patterned lion that allowed the white male a better look. The pair seemed to know each other and was soon confirmed that the white lion was a thrall. Bousvor approved how the other looked after the white one.
Not wanting to crowd, the tawny male stepped back to allow others a closer view. Bousvor settled himself where he could watch but wouldn't interfere. His ear twitched at the priestess' odd turn of phrase, but said nothing. He smiled at the priestess when she looked at him. "As am I." Oh he'd be tempted to have a little ball of fuzz around except for one problem. One big lioness problem. Bousvor couldn't be sure the influence his new thrall would have on a small cub. Best to get her settled before he accepted any impressionable cubs.
Voices approaching drew his attention momentarily away from the cubs. Two thrall lionesses that he knew came nearer with another lion that Bousvor did not recognize. He bobbed his head in greeting to the trio. AshtaHe was nearly startled when the dark mother smiled at him then asked if he wanted to see the cubs. Shyly he nodded and said softly, "thank you." Phosphor had said something about cubs when he'd found Ashta. Now that he was seeing cubs he realized that they were adorable. He would probably have never considered cubs in his old pride unless his masters ordered it. "You must be proud." It was a fine litter, and while the priestess didn't appear happy about it, Ashta thought they both might be.
The pale male glanced from mother to priestess to Phosphor. Would his master accept a cub? Who would care for it while it grew? Ashta knew that answer. He would probably. And he knew nothing of cub raising. Sure enough his master inquired his thoughts and Ashta hid a smile. Carefully he considered the question because he knew he'd have to hold up to whatever he said. "Master. While I have no doubts as to my skills in teaching, these are yet young cubs. I wouldn't mind having one to care for, but I'm afraid I do not know much about young cubs. I would need help." He quirked a smile at the younger lion, remembering all the time he'd spent with a particular cub after saving him from drowning.

Phosphor's ears twitched a bit as a few more lions arrived on the scene, but he kept his attention on his Thrall. He gave a little snort and a wave of his paw at the mild concern. "They will grow quickly, Ashta, and you know they won't stay young long." He himself was a prime example of how the white lion had seen a cub grow up, from when he fished him out of the watering hole to when he had approached him not too long ago in the rouge lands as an adult.
"Besides, I'll be sure to have a paw in the cub's early stages. What kind of Reaver would I be to leave such important tasks on your shoulders?" he asked. While it was true he trusted Ashta with his life, there were certain things he couldn't pass off onto the other lion. Raising and teaching a cub would be one of them. Once he - or she, he reminded himself - grew a bit more he'd leave more of the training to Ashta, but while the cub was still small? He'd be around much more often. He didn't have a female or cubs of his own, so this would be a good way to see how he dealt with a tiny cub.

Kisukari had heard, on the grape-vine that was the thrall community, that a thrall had birthed a litter. She hadn't realised, for a while, what that meant. The cubs, like the mother, would be thralls. She couldn't imagine being born into this life - she hated it already, and she had not been in the pride that long. She had plans though, and plans that would come to fruition some day. She wouldn't be a low-thrall for long.
By the time she arrived, a crowd had formed around the new mother, and she slunk forward, trying to keep herself unnoticed, until she spotted a familiar figure. Ugh, she rolled her eyes. Of course he was here.
"Hello master," she said sweetly to Bousvor as she flicked her tail at him in greeting.
She didn't stand near him though, and slunk closer to peer at the cubs. Her heart sank. Oh. They were beautiful, sweet cubs and this was what was waiting for them as they aged.
"Congratulations," she whispered to the mother, her eyes not meeting those of higher ranks around her, staring instead at the cubs before her and the mother that cared for them. "They are beautiful."
Diya had also heard of the birth, and found himself curious. He was not necessarily a fan of cubs - he hadn't been a fan of cubs even when he himself had been a cub. They were all rather noisy and not that interesting to talk to, but a thrall might be interesting, he mused to himself.
He saw the male he had challenged for entry to the pride but he ignored him. He didn't really want to remember his attempts to gain entry into the pride, rather he was focused on the fact that he was already in the pride. That's all that mattered now, he simply had to prove himself as worthy and then all would be well.
He glanced at the cubs, unimpressed by their small stature. Were all cubs this small, or were these just particularly unimpressive?

BousvorAs if his thoughts had summoned her, Kisukari approached the gathering. His lips quirked at her polite manners to him as he tried to hide a smile. Ah it was amusing times. "Greetings Kisukari." He should have known she'd show up. It seemed everyone wanted a peek at the new cubs. He noted the dark blue lion that also joined the growing group. So the male had gotten in after all. That was good. Patience was a virtue well known to Bousvor. He watched to see if Kisu would come back and join him or go off on her own once she'd seen the cubs. Ashta"That they do master. They always grow so fast." His eyes showed the grin behind his muzzle as he teased. Ashta nodded pleased, "then I have no arguments master. You know I would gladly bare any task you set me." Ashta gave a respective bob of his head. His ears were perked with curiosity. Which cub would his master choose? His master would make the choice of which cub he wanted to accept after all. A lioness was trying to wiggle her way closer and Ashta politely backed up to give her room to see as well.

Fen'li nudged Karm and looked to Bousvor and smiled, though Karm looked at a glance. Fen quirked a brow and ducked her head a little at him, "Hello, nice to see you again," though Fen heard Karm huff at that statement.
What is she to do with her dark friend?
She flicked her tail and looked the cubs over, so small, so full of potential, greater than her own. She looked back to K'A, she bet he could teach the cubs much.
She looked towards the mother, and the other female at her side, and smiled.
Strong little storms just starting, she thought, but she waited to be motioned to to speak.
Karm went to speak, something sly, to Bousvor but held her tongue, nor the time or place. Though when another female came close and called him master, she could not help but have her nose scrunch up, master? Would she ever have to call a male that?
Not even Fen said that to K'A.
Yyeick.
K'Anatak watched the group intently. He knew not if others knew of his presence here though he wished to see the Warlord in kind, he enjoyed the pridelands here. It made him think of his father, and the area, with Fen, somehow made his mind calm.
As the male nodded towards him, K'A mimicked the gesture, and then kept a close eye on Fen.
