Sorry it took so long i was swamped with work.

User Image The young avian had found himself, as he often did, flying around the rogue lands surrounding the boarder of the pride. Outside the heart of the pride it was quiet except for the sounds of crickets as night approached. He needed a night away, even if only for a little while. Thei'ng was born mute and on top of that he had new found powers that the goddess gifted him with. He was a seer but he had no idea how to explain to anyone what was going on with what he saw. It was like a game of charades every time he had a vision. He began to wonder if it was worth it to even try to explain what was happening.

It was with a soft sigh he found himself in a small clearing, and made himself comfortable atop the lowest branch of a tree. He found it much nicer to travel as the sun went down. One it was the way his pride they were nocturnal, so he often was awake at night. Two traveling at night was much cooler, the sun often radiated heat as it beamed down on him and his black feathers.

He was so lost in thought he hadn’t even noticed the sky begin to fill with clouds. He felt one of the first of many droplets of water hit him lightly against his feathers. A storm had rolled him. Oh dang it! Stupid me! How could I be so careless! he thought to himself.

He took off as fast as he could fly but it was to no avail, soon after he he flew he felt the rain clash against him slowly soaking into his feathers. He began to sink lower to the ground as his wings grew heavy; until he could no longer carry himself and he plopped onto the ground. All he could do was sit there for a moment wondering when the rain would clear and if there was somewhere he could hide until it passed.

With a heavy sigh he began to walk in the rain. He couldn’t help but smile at himself. How funny and bird who has to walk.

Sahar was awfully lonely as of the late. It was a storm much more fierce than today that had washed over the grasslands as her and her beloved companions travelled on the long journey from the desert to the pride lands she had only heard of. Inia had spoken highly of it, being a place of sun and grass and peace. It seemed dreamy to the young jackal and Sahar followed her happily.

But then the storm came, and with it chaos.

Dylis, another jackal was the first to leave her sights, followed by the two lions she travelled with as they darted separate ways. Just like that, Sahar was alone, stumbling through rain that pelted against her fur like claws. By the time she had managed to take safety under a bush, flooding began and she needed to run further.

All in all, with a shiver she hastened herself to never think back to that horrid night. Sahar walked alone now, something she hadn't done for a long time. She was used to the reassuring feeling of being accompanied by her group that having to go on her own was an odd thing. She felt the need to talk, yet had nobody to talk to. Nobody to hear as they responded or told her a story, nobody to reassure her that no lions or leopards were going to be able to eat her like they had tried before.

So lonely. So very, very lonely...

It was then that she spotted a bird, with coloring that was similar to her own. It was... Walking? In the rain? How very curious.

Sahar ran to walk alongside the funny creature. He was much smaller than her so she felt alright speaking with him. The jackal always felt nervous or scared speaking to those much taller than her... "Hello." She smiled.

Thei’ng was caught off guard by a female voice that called to him. Who was foolish enough to be out in this storm? Even he wouldn’t be out here if he could’ve avoided it. He looked up to see the jackal walking along side of him. He smiled and waved his right wing eager to see someone as foolish as him. He was both excited and nervous about this encounter. It was very rare for him to meet a new lion or cheetah, well anyone really; especially alone. He had no idea what was going to happen usually Tish, the lion he bonded himself with, would explain that he was mute but right now she wasn’t here and was by himself.

He could feel the water droplets rolling off his beak. It rained so much that there was enough water to penetrate the oil that protected his feathers from the wet substance, he was soaked. He thought about it for a moment; he didn’t really know what to do. He knew he couldn’t fly away; he could probably try and explain his situation. Also he hoped that maybe she would be able to help, if not they could keep each other’s company.

He took in a big breath. Here goes nothing He thought. First he pointed to himself and then his throat and then shook his head side to side. He then proceeded to point to the jackal then pointed at her throat and nod up and down. Thei’ng repeated this a few times in hopes the jackal understood. Then he proceeded to open his wings wide and began to sway slowly side to side. After that he pointed to the sky and used one of his wings and drifted it back and forth in front of him then he slowly lowered it to the ground. Finally he pointed to himself once more and began to walk in a circle. He left out a long sigh satisfied with his explanation.

He looked into the jackals crimson eyes; they were the same color as his own. He wondered if she would understand or of she would think he was just flapping about like some crazy bird.

At first Sahar had looked with a confused gaze as Thei'ng flapped around. She followed his movements and tried to understand what he was doing but all in all the first few minutes she was completely lost. What was he doing? A dance to make the rain go away? No, he looked very serious, as if it was important. But if that was the case why didn't he just- Oh! She realized it. He had to be a mute, or have something wrong with his voice. Maybe he was afraid to speak even. Whatever the case he was trying to tell her something and couldn't use words.

"You..." She muttered as he swayed side to side. "Flying... Falling... Landing! It's that you're landing right?" He continued on and more outburst from Sahar followed. "O-oh.. You... Walking. You can't fly in the storm and now you have to walk?" She asked in hopes that he'd nod and confirm she was correct.

"There's a bush over there." She turned and bobbed her head in the direction of a small shrub. "We can probably wait out the rest of the storm over there without getting wet." She turned back to face the bird. "I'm Sahar, by the way."
