It was done, finally. She had collected a variety of trinkets (really, some of them were quite pretty. Why did the smelly men get all the pretty things in this pride?) that she had gifted to the Captain, all with a sweet smile and internal curses on his entire family. Still, he had bought it, and he seemed content. She just had to make sure that Bousvor was happy with her behaviour. Then she would bug him until he told her what he had meant.

Despite her actions which led to her being captured, and some of her subsequent behaviours, Kisukari was not stupid. She was simply...opinionated and her opinions were occasionally wrong. She knew that he had been hinting at something, something that would get her out of the hell that she had, stupidly, signed herself up for.

"Bousvor!" She called out, searching the pride of smelly men for one particular smelly male. Ugh. She understood they were rugged and everything, but some of them smelt rather...awful. She crinkled her nose and side-stepped a few burly men in hopes of spotting her 'master'.

She was sure that he had spoken to the captain already, she just needed to make sure he was happy with the Captain's report on her trinkets.

He had been expecting this for some time today. It seemed his thrall had completed her mission. Bousvor raised his head from his favorite spot outside his den. The sun warmed the rocks and made it a perfect spot to watch. He had been watching his thrall closely during this time and he was pleased with what he saw.

She had done as told, and she had been polite. Maybe she didn't mean it, but she had done it. Bousvor was proud of her. Not that he'd show it openly. She'd probably be horrified if she knew. His ears as he heard Kisu's voice ringing out over the pride. Amused and shaking his head he figured he'd better put a stop to this before other started complaining she was disturbing the peace.

"My den!" He pitched his deep voice so it'd reach her. Then he waited for her to make her way to him. He glance behind him for he also had another surprise for her than just what he was going to tell her.

She turned towards his den as soon as she heard his voice, recognizing it quickly. Ugh, that was disturbing - she was getting used to him. That wouldn't do. She rolled her eyes but kept them down as she ducked through the pride towards his den. She didn't want to annoy another captain and get into this whole mess again! One was enough, thank you very much.

She spotted him easily and stormed up to him, her pace was one of determination but she stopped a while from him. She reached around, grabbing a piece of a buffalo hide from her back, and throwing it towards him. It landed at the base of the rocks, and she motioned to it. "For your den." She hadn't taken down the buffalo herself, heavens no, but she had traded someone for it.

She was no ones slave, but sweetening him up before she asked him about his comments couldn't hurt, could it? Also, she had rubbed some flowers on the hide, giving it a nice fresh scent. Much better than the pride's general odor. Her ego took a blow giving him anything, but to be fair, he hadn't been a complete jerk to her. Maybe rewarding him wasn't the worst thing ever... It was still pretty bad though.

She stared at him expectantly, waiting on feedbackor a snarky comment or something.

Though he only raised his eyebrow as the buffalo hide landed, he was more than mildly surprised. He had said nothing about getting him a gift, but she must have taken the initiative in case she'd offended him. Or it was for another reason totally. Bousvor smiled and nodded his head in acceptance.

"I thank you, it will make a lovely addition. Come sit on the rocks with me." He gestured for her to find a spot comfortable to her. The sun made him relaxed and just want to sleep, but now was not the time. Other than making sure her gifts weren't rubbish and would offend the captain, he'd mostly kept his nose out of it.

"How did it go?" Bousvor stretched and made a bit of idle talk. He hoped the captain was satisfied now.

Good. He had taken the bait. He was letting his guard down around her, she cackled inwardly. Her devious plan was working! Her bribery had worked! She still moved cautiously to sit on the rocks next to him. She doubted that he would hurt her - if he had planned to do so, he would have done it a lot sooner than this.

She frowned a little, settling on the warmth. "...Ok, I guess. He seemed happy," she said with a shrug. "I don't know if that was because I gave him nice trinkets, or because I also brought him food." Food was a good bribery tool, didn't matter where you were raised.

She hesitated to bring up her topic, but there was no use beating around the bush. "You said I might not always be like this," she said, refusing to call herself a thrall. "What did you mean?"

Bousvor watched as she made her way up. Once she'd settled he reached behind him and brought out two young rabbits. Silently he passed one to her and kept the other for himself. Beginning his snack he thought about what she said. It wasn't bribery what she was doing, but compensation for hurt honor. He wanted to be sure the captain wouldn't come back unless she offended him again. Something he doubted likely to happen.

"If you have paid your price in full, then good. All is well." He ate a bit more then looked at her. "A slim chance for you to gain your honor," Bousvor said simply. How would she react to that bit of information? He rather thought she'd be impatient for it and demand it be done right now. Honestly he had no idea when the occurrence would happen again. So far he had only seen it happen once since he'd joined.

She tucked into the rabbit with no hint of modesty. She didn't need to pretend to be a lady around Bousvor she decided, her feminine wiles wouldn't work on him. Maybe he wasn't interested in ladies? That would explain a lot - it couldn't simply be that he wasn't interested in her, she assured herself.

She bristled a little at the comment of honour though. "I may not be in the best position now, but my honour has not faded," she announced loftily. "There is nothing that you can do that will take my honour from me." To her, her honour was her entire fibre of being. It was not something that could be seperated from her.

"I may have fallen, but this is not where I shall remain." She glanced at him, her gaze determined. "How do I rise?"

"Reward for work well done." He smiled nodding to the rabbit she was eating. Bousvor nodded but held up his paw. "So your honor may be seen by others," he corrected gently. "I know you are spirited Kisu. The rules of the pride say otherwise." How had he managed to get this feisty female into the pride? Oh right, she walked in.

He could only hope he was making this distinction clear enough to her to avoid another incident. Now he leaned forward intently. Green eyes staring commandingly into hers and his voice low yet firm. "Occasionally there is a time that one may traditionally challenge one of the rank above yours." He wanted to help her, but not if she was going to be foolish about it.

She peered down at the rabbit, not sure how she felt about being 'rewarded' for this all. After all, he had commanded her to do it in the first place. Why should she get rewarded for obeying him? ...oh, because she was his thrall. She sighed, and pushed the rabbit away a bit, stopping her eating.

"What kind of challenge?" She asked, frowning. For the first time in a while, she seemed serious. "I can't fight." She felt defeated as she said that but her father had never allowed her to fight. She was a princess, spoilt through and through, and now she was in a pride of warriors.

How was she supposed to get her freedom, especially if she was expected to fight her way to freedom. That wouldn't happen, not now.

Bousvor neatly ate his rabbit. Focused solely on that it wasn't long before all that remained was a few bones. He settled back. It wouldn't hold him for the rest of the day, but it was sufficient for now.

"Oh, well if you're going to give up that easily I guess I don't need to explain anything further." He replied as if he didn't care either way. Bousvor knew how lively she was. It almost seemed odd for her to be worried about something like that. He also anticipated his words would set her off.

His words had the desired effect on her, much like he had predicted that they would. She bristled instantly, her eyes narrowing at him. She knew, in her heart of hearts, that he was only doing it to irritate her, but she couldn't stop herself from reacting to it anyway. Damn it, he knew she wouldn't just give up!

"When have I ever given up?" She demanded viciously, her voice a hiss. "I am, as you like to point it out, practically a slave, I have been threatened with death and yet here I am, looking for a way out and here you are making it difficult."

She rose to her paws and stared down at him. "I thought you would help, but perhaps you are nothing more than the other smelly males in this pride."

Life was never dull with Kisukari around. What would he do for entertainment if she ever got past this? He was pleased to see that her spirit was still there.

"I donno, but it looked like you were thinking about it just now." Which was why he'd goaded her. Satisfied that she wasn't just going to give up because she didn't know how to fight, he was now will to tell her the details. "Yes it involves winning a fight. As a Thrall," he knew she was sensitive to that word and used it to help her accept it, or at least desensitize her, "you can challenge a Freeborn. If you win, you'll gain the rank of freeborn."

"Maybe I will help, and maybe I won't. I am making it difficult because it wouldn't help you if I just handed it to you. Perhaps I am just a smelly male." Bousvor leered at her in a way she tell he didn't really mean it in that sense. "Though, have you seen any other willing to provide insider information? I doubt if you went and claimed another master he'd be as free with his information as I am."

She frowned, focusing instead on his words, rather than his tone. "A freeborn? That's your usual rank isn't it? Not the reavers, who are the fighters?" She was not used to this whole pride structure. When she was a princess she didn't care what the other ranks were, just that she didn't have to do anything, and they all had to listen to her. How things had changed.

She scoffed as he leered. "You would be so lucky to keep me as a thrall," she retorted. She doubted he would follow through with the leer, he was smelly but he wasn't like all the others. She appreciate that. She had to admit though, he had been very useful. "What happens if I was to lose?" She was afraid to ask, but she couldn't stand not knowing.

So doing some reading just to get an idea and Kisu is not going to be happy! I misspoke in the last post. She'll need to challenge a reaver and it has to be her master, which happens to be Bousvor. Dun dun dun~! Link if you wanna read into it. XD

He gave a nod. "Freeborn is a general rank, nothing specialized like a Priestess or Lawspeaker or Reaver." Bousvor thought of them as the "unclassed" really. A broad grouping that didn't have one set role. He felt as long as she wasn't counted as a slave anymore, that any rank would do.

"Must of been pretty lucky so far," he drawled to tease her. Since it had been her choosing him instead of the proper way of him picking her. He shook his mane out. "You'll remain as you are." Bousvor had settled into his best sphinx pose to watch her.

She didn't know what to think anymore. She was a thrall, but there was a chance she could escape. She could be...one of the stinking pride members. She wasn't sure how she felt about that, actually. She stared at her paws. It would be better than thralldome though.

She glanced up at his comment, and winked. "You know you've been lucky, your life would be so dull without me!" She was pretty certain that it was the only reason he hadn't killed her yet.

She would stay a thrall, if she lost. She didn't even dare ask if she could challenge again. If she lost her challenge, she wasn't sure what she would do. She stared at her paws. Oh god. Was she really going to do this? Risk it all...on a fight?

magnadearel
Oh gosh XD Next RP will be him revealing that to her? Or maybe it could be a mystery until it happens, and she suddenly has to fight him instead XDD
