The admins had to rerelease donation items to trick people into donating real money to them so they can stay online, cuz they know that anime isn't popular anymore. In 2004 you could name over a dozen companies that released anime on DVD, now as of 2014, you can probably barely name 3-4. I only know of FUNimation, VIZ Media, Sentai Filmworks, and Disney who releases studio ghibli stuff.
Like for example, Sailor Moon got a remake, and the original anime was also set to be remastered and released everywhere. It was sad that we could only think of either FUNimation or VIZ getting the license to it for the US. So apparently VIz got it cuz Naoko Teguichi felt she liked them more. And FUNi has too many cheesy voice actors, so viz would be better, so there you have it. Before in 2004-2005 it could've been licensed by up to over 6 or more different companies, but now me and my bros knew it would either be FUNI or viz. So they chose viz. Soo sad.
