For the third time, Kitwana stood at the border of the Stormborn and the rouge lands. His body was healed and his determination was as solid as ever, but there was a lingering doubt in the back of his mind now. Could he beat Phosphor? What if he didn't show up? He didn't want to win against anyone else, it had to be Phosphor. There was something maddening about the lion, how he fought with such ease and grace...he had to lose some time, right? Another roar sounded out, and he sat down to wait. Last time it had taken a few minutes for Phosphor to show up. Perhaps this time he'd be closer, waiting for Kitwana to challenge again.

This time Phosphor didn't take too long to respond to the call. He had been waiting for the other lion, a promise made that he wouldn't be far from the rouge lands in a few days. The lion's determination was more than enough to warrent his Stormborn title, but his fighting...it needed help. Hopefully he had learned from the past two fights. He really wanted to let the other male in, but he knew he had rules to follow. As he approached Kitwana he gave the other male a grin. "Back again...they say bad things happen in threes, did you know? But they also say third time is the charm...let's see which it will be for you, hm?" He stepped forward, ready to take the challenge. He did hope it would work in Kitwana's favor this time, though. He improved greatly the last time they'd faced off.

(Turn 1, 4)
Kitwana snorted softly at Phosphor's words. It could certainly go one way or the other, but this time he had a feeling he'd come out on top, impressing the other lion with his fighting. He'd made sure to practice this time, not only his actual moves but also his patience. That had been his downfall before. He waited for a solid minute before suddenly bursting into movement. He made a few changes in direction on his way forward but finally charged head on, lowering his head at the last moment to ram into the other lion with his shoulder.
(Turn 1, 3)
Phosphor laughed as Kitwana's body language spoke for him. He was ready to go, and it showed. He waited for the other lion to move, and the explosive attack was a nice change from the rather sloppy ones from before. He wasn't expecting the type of attack Kitwana made, and he didn't have time to defend himself. He was pushed back and knocked aside, which got a delighted laugh from the other lion. "Wow! Very good," he said as he backed away, claws coming out. "Now let's get to work!"
(Turn 2, 1)
The sudden movement from Phosphor knocked Kitwana off balance and he stumbled, He tried to catch himself but he tripped over his own paws, sending him hard to the ground. Great, he thought as he tried to get back up before Phosphor could pounce on his mistake. Good luck with that train of thought.
(Turn 2, 1)
It was, indeed, a perfect opportunity to attack, but Phosphor held his paws. This wasn't a battle after all, it was a test of Kitwana's prowess and determination. He was getting to his feet and not letting himself stay down, and that was enough for him. "Very good, don't give up," he encouraged, lowering his head, ready for a fight. This time, he knew, would be a good one.
(Turn 3, 2)
Phosphor didn't attack, which surprised Kitwana, and it threw him for a loop. Why hadn't he attacked? Was he taking it easy on him? With a snarl of frustration he threw himself forward again, remembering just a bit too late not to let things like this get to his head. He continued with the hit, though, striking out with his claws out to try to score a hit on the other lion.
(Turn 3, 3)
Phosphor gave a little growl as Kitwana returned to his old tactics and reprimanded him for it with a quick swat to his face after ducking the attack. "Focus, Kitwana, don't let your emotions get the better of you! You're a Stormborn, I can tell, but you have to focus!" He hoped those words would get through to the other lion. He really wanted to see him succeed this time, but now it was in the other lion's paws.
(Turn 4, 3)
Kitwana shook his head after the smack, trying to regain his composure. He had to focus, Phosphor was right. He took a moment to calm himself and, in that time, listened to where the other lion stood. He waited until he was off-guard to turn and pounce, aiming to return the bite to his back he'd gotten a few weeks prior. He felt his teeth sink into flesh and he gave a shake, but let go quickly so as not to do any real damage. This wasn't' a fight to the death, just to impress Phosphor.
(Turn 4, 1)
The attack took Phosphor completely by surprise, and he was stunned when the attack he'd used to finish their first fight was used on him. He wasn't tossed around, but Kitwana had definitely landed a solid hit, a killing one in a real fight. He laughed as he backed up, his face all smiles. "Well done! Well done, I didn't see that one coming at all!"
(Turn 5, 1)
Kitwana paused in his attack, surprised at how happy Phosphor sounded. "So...did I do it?" he asked hesitantly, unsure if he should celebrate or not.
(Turn 5, 1)
"I'd say you did. Using my own move against me, and having me be completely blindsided by it!" Phosphor said with a laugh. "Yes, I'd say you'd make a fine Stormborn. Welcome, Kitwana! Welcome!"
Kitwana couldn't believe it. He'd finally done it! Apparently the third time was the charm for him...he'd have to remember that.
Phosphor turned and let the new Stormborn into the pride, chatting away about all the things he'd have to learn to do before becoming a Reaver himself. Then he'd be free to roam and collect as he saw fit.
