[PRP] On the Edge (Drury x Luljeta)

Drury had made his way out and away from the mountains today. He was in a mood and wanted to get away. In fact he was pretty sure he had moved far enough now that he wasn't actually in his pride at all anymore. He glanced back over his shoulder and saw the mountains raising up to the sky. He had to admit that the mountains were rather striking. He missed the swamps though, and his mom.

The blue lion with his bright red mane headed towards the river he knew ran down the mountain side. Slowly he moved his feet into the water. It was cold water which he knew it would be as it came from the mountains top. He loved the feeling of the cool water rushing over his body.

She found herself in odd places a lot. She was near a mountain but not. It was the brink of it, really, where the rocks were just starting to form with it. The air was clean, cold, and made the pale lioness shiver when she breathed deep. It was a lot better than the stench of the swamps she'd bypassed in the last few days of her aimless wandering.

That was the thing about having no pride; you wandered. You spent your entire life on the move, staying in temporary dens, avoiding prides that you've heard about, or that you know are there. Oh, she'd tried the pride life once, and it wasn't for her. She preferred to not be watched by that many eyes. Apparently a lioness with her gray and white coloration was a rare thing to some because she got stared at quite a lot. It made her uncomfortable, made her squirm or want to act and lash out. Luljeta wasn't the best role model because she did have a little temper and tended to scream and stamp her feet, throw a tantrum like a cub.

So, she never stayed in one place too long. Her mouth was getting sticky and dry from going hours without a drop in it, so she moved towards the first water source she smelled. Mountain water always seemed to taste better. Sauntering up to the river, however, she found a very bright red maned lion there, very much in the water.

She was going to just observe him for a while.

Having thoroughly enjoyed his dip in the river. Drury pulled himself up out of the water and gave himself a good shake. He climbed up on the rocks in the area and looked up at the mountain that he now called home. It didn't feel like home though.

Drury sighed things had been a mess ever since he lost his mom in the swamps, he was still in a daze when he and the rest of the pride made the move to the mountains. Now he was here and mostly alone it just didn't feel right.

With a sigh the lion laid his head on his paws. He was at a lost he didn't know what to do.

The male came out of the river and her head tilted to the side as she watched him. He didn't seem happy in the slightest bit. She rubbed a paw over her face to get rid of an itch, smearing dirt on her face unknowingly before she moved over to the blue lion. Her brows knit lightly and she stopped just in front of him.

"Lost?" She asked, hoping she didn't startle him too much. A little startling only hurt the sick.

Drury looked up when he heard the voice. It had startled him a little but not too badly. He smiled when he saw the lioness a swipe of mud across her face, he found the sight slightly comical.

"Lost?" Drury looked over his should back towards the pride, "No I am not lost, I live back that way. I just don't know if I want to go back there."

Drury was pretty sure the female wasn't from his homelands, he had never seen her before now. "My name is Drury." he told her with a nod.
