[PRP] Taking the Children Out (Man'Tah/Nuriess/Idunn)

The sun was warm and bright and Man'Tah felt it the best time to take two of her daughters outside to see the world.

It was bright and sunny, one of the last warm days before winter, and her cubs were old enough for Man'Tah to teach to be safe outside a cavern, and so she'd gathered Idunn and Nuriess and stepped out, leading her daughters along, ever alert for other dwarves. She was safe... But she wasn't sure how they'd take fatherless cubs.

Idunn was excited to see where her mother took them. The cub bounced, almost dancing as she followed, laughing and giggling and juimping as she walked, beaming.

"Mama, mama!" The cub crooned. "Will we see others?"

Man'Tah smiled.

"Maybe."

Nuriess was excited to go outside the cavern. She wanted to see everything. Her head twisted every which way that she could as she did her best to keep up with Man'Tah. She felt like mama was taking them out for a reason but she couldn't guess what. "What are we gonna do mama?"

A pebble got stuck in her paw as she didn't pay attention to where she was stepping. She hobbled along while trying to shake it out and accidentally bumped into Idunn. "Watch out Idunn, I gots a rock stuck in my paw." She frowned at her paw until she managed to nudge it out with her nose.

"Today?" Man'Tah smiled, giving both cubs a lick. "We are going outside to see new things and learn about them. I came from the rogue lands before joining the pride and you should learn some dangers."

She smiled, nuzzling Nuriess asnd inspecting her paw a moment, licked it to help kiss away the soreness.

"Including rocks. Keep close now, little ones."

The other two had remained sound asleep inside, but Man'Tah could take them out later. Four cubs to one mother was a lot.

Idunn squeaked at being bumped and inspected her sister before nodding, following her a bit curiously. Danger?

"There won't be scariues, right, Mama?"

Nuriess beamed up at her mama after having her paw licked. She felt special that her and Idunn got picked first to go outside. At mama's words, she immediately moved closer and stuck to her side as well as she could without getting in the way. She also made sure to keep an eye on her sister. If there were dangers, she didn't want Idunn to get hurt. Mama must be a strong lion, she came from the rogue lands. Nuriess wasn't entirely sure what that meant but she was sure it wasn't as safe as in the pride.

She nuzzled her sister lovingly, "Don't worry Idunn, I'll protect you from any scaries." She wasn't scared of nothing, at least, that was how she felt.

"Don't get too incautious, Nuriess." Man'Tah reminded gently. She smiled as Idunn moved closer to her sister, eyes looking about as Man'Tah paused on an overlook.

"Here, this outcropping here. You can see a lot of animals both of you will hunt one day."

Man'Tah indicated herds with a paw - Zebra and Antelope, Wildebeest and others, all as calm as ever. Idunn gasped, pausing.

Nuriess pouted a little but nodded. "Alright mama." She didn't quite understand why she needed to be more cautious but if mama wanted her to be that way, then she would.

When they got to the outcropping, she gasped right along with her sister. She'd never seen so much animals gathered all like that. In a very low voice, she said, "Look all the prey. How do you pick one to hunt mama?" They were so big looking too. She looked at Idunn, they were much too small to take one of those creatures down. Many were bigger than mama. It made her look up at Man'Tah with a look of awe.

Man'Tah smiled, peering at ne stray gazelle limping.

"You see the straggler there?" She crooned. "You aim for them, first. And if you can hunt with others, do so - it's good for you to bond and it keeps more lions safe. But..."

And then Man'Tah was serious. "Itf you're ever alone, the small, sick, old, and weak are easiest alone." She said gently.

Idunn blinked, looking up to her mother as she blinked, head tilting a bit before looking to Nuriess.

"I'll hunt with you one day!" She offered gently.
