They had come a long way. Jokull Sigvarðr stood at the border of the pride he had found for he and his mate, his stance one of firm challenge. He had to win his way in. For the sake of he and his mate. While he could do...well enough in the rogue lands, Gaëlle was suited only for short jaunts into it. And both of them rather missed being around others on a regular basis. Gaëlle's aide was good enough company...but not another lion.
Once he was sure he was ready, and another living scent nearby, he roared. "I am Jokull Sigvarðr, and I come to prove my strength!"

Phosphor was strolling around the edge of the pride today, rather bored, but not looking to go out on a Viking. He was waiting for...well. He supposed the best word for her was a friend. She had decided to join the Stormborn, but he hadn't seen her since their meeting in the rogue lands. He hoped to catch her at the edge of the pride and give her her test, as some Reavers were much too harsh in their judgement. His ears perked up when he heard a roar of challenge, but sighed when he realized it wasn't her. He trotted over anyway to see who it was, smiling at the lion when he came into view. "Hello," he said cheerfully, pausing a few strides away from the lion. "Welcome, Jokull Sigvarðr. I'm Phosphor. I'll be happy to take your challenge. Should you prove yourself you may enter, but if I think you need some time to hone yourself, I'll have to turn you away."

Jokull looked the other lion over before nodding, determination in his eyes. The other held himself like a warrior, and would be a good test of how out-of-practice he was. Hopefully not too much so. "So be it, Phosphor. Your terms are accepted." The pale lion shifted and moved, his movements those of a warrior assessing his opponent.
Let the battle begin.

The dark lion smiled as the pale challenger agreed. "Great! Let's begin," he said, lowering his head and adopting a fighting stance. Usually he let the other lion make the first move, but today he was feeling particularly spunky. He darted forward with teeth bared and claws extended. It was a bluff, only meant to see how Jokull would react to a blatant, head on attack. Phosphor was always very careful not to use his claws or teeth in these battles unless the challenger used them first. It was merely a spar, after all, not a battle of life and death. There didn't need to be any useless wounds from these tests.

Jokull let the other come, waiting until the last moment to dodge to one side. The other was shaping out to be a good warrior. Perfect! If he had to earn his way in, then he would earn it! With a smirk, he shifted to push against the other's flank, seeking to knock him off balance. He wouldn't use claws and teeth if he could avoid them, but he wouldn't hold back otherwise. It would just be disrespectful to his opponent!

The dodge left Phosphor grinning. Ah, he was a smart one, wasn't he? That was good. He needed a challenge. The little bump knocked him off balance enough to make him pause in his movement, getting his feet back under him before launching another attack. He turned and pounced instantly, aiming to land on on Jokull's rear end. He wanted to knock him off balance? He'd do the same. He kept his claws in though, not wanting to hurt the other male. This was just a test of his fighting prowess after all, if he wanted a fight once he made it in he'd be glad to do so.

The pale male was moving as the other was, looking to take advantage of the stumble. He didn't quite manage it, instead taking a strike to his rear. Other lions might have bared their fangs and struck out with claws, but he kept his temper reigned in and he whirled to strike out with an open paw. Where he was going to hit, he wasn't sure, but he knew he was [most likely] going to hit.

Phosphor had to admit that the lion had guts. He kept on coming, even if his movements weren't very refined. That was something he could learn in time, though. The attack was swift and caught Phosphor off guard, letting the blue lion land a hit on his shoulder. Rather than shying away, however, Phosphor moved into the hit, charging his shoulder into Jokull's chest and thrusting up with his hind legs, hoping to toss the other male to the ground.
