[PRP] Morning Adventure! (Levigis/Potewa)

Levigis eagerly made her way out of her den. She stretched her body when she was outside the den. The morning sun shone bright above. She had already slept way to late. Originally she wanted to wake up extra early to go on her little adventure, but last night she was so excited to go on the adventure she had a hard time sleeping.

She looked around at the land she would soon be exploring. Despite waking up late, she knew she would have a fun adventure. The savannah seemed to go on for ages. She carefully climbed down from the entrance of her den. 'Now where to start?' She thought, looking around. Her eyes locked on a watering hole that was not too far in the distance.

'That looks like the perfect place to start todays adventure.' She grinned widely before starting over toward the watering hole.

Potewa had been on his own for too long, he felt, but he did not really mind it. He found that he was more built for taking care of himself than other people, though his instincts would always be to tend to someone else. He was only slowly learning what it was to be by himself, and responsible for himself.

He was out and about early today, and had been padding along too long already. He was feeling pretty tired, and his body was heavy, but he supposed that was what came when one traveled along day after day. Without a goal.

It surprised him to see another lion, or rather a lioness, nearby, and he paused. Was he in some sort of pride without knowing it, or did she simply live out in the rogue lands? He did not really live anywhere, when it came down to it, and that thought was a little sad.

"Good morning," he said, padding toward her and trying to pretend he was just walking toward the watering hole as well, though he had only just spotted it half way toward her. He was just a little lonely, he supposed, and company would suit him.

As she walked, she looked at the lion and gave him a big grin. Things were already turning around. “Good morning!” Levigis said enthusiastic. Morning could be so dull some times. Having someone near by to talk to would be a perfect start to her day.

The waterhole was quiet with a couple creatures getting drinks.

“Are you from around here?” Levigis asked curiously. She had left her family behind in search of adventure. So far her adventure was pretty tame, especially compared to that of her fathers. However she was determined to have her fair of fun before she settled down. She wanted to have story after story to tell her cubs at night before bed, about her daring escape from danger and treasures that she found.

She snapped out of that thought and looked at her companion. “By the way, my name is Levigis.”

"I'm not," he said, with a shake of his head. "If I'm not supposed to be here, I can leave. I was just wandering through, I suppose. I have not had a home in... well. Longer than I can remember, so I tend to just go where ever my paws take me."

"My name is Potewa. It's nice to meet you, Levigis."

He smiled at her, and it was pleasant enough. Yes, he could be a bit of a jerk sometimes, when the mood took him, and he tended to think he was better than most of the lions around him. But at the moment he was being pleasant, and he was doing his best not to burn bridges before they were built. He knew all too well what happened when he let his arrogance get in the way, and the cost was often not worth what he got in return.

He had to walk a fine line between being alone, like he felt he deserved to be, and wanting friendship, which he did not think he could do without. It was very difficult for him.

"What about you, are you from around here? Is this a pride?"

“Nah, you can be here. I mean, I'm not going tell you that you can't be here. I'm a traveler as well. The locals didn't seem bothered by me being here, so we can just assume they won't mind you hanging around.” Levigis said with a grin. She rarely got in trouble with locals when she traveled. The only time she every upset someone was when she over stayed her welcome. Since then she was good about leaving before she became a nuisance.

“It is nice to meet you as well Potewa.” It was nice being in the company of another lion. Her tail flicked with excitement.

“I've been traveling for some time. I'm an adventurer, searching the lands for excitement and treasure,” she explained. “I'm just in this area for a little while, to rest up before I continue my adventure.”

At the watering hole she dipped her head down and took a sip of water. She looked around trying to determine what direction she would head toward once she was ready to go. “I've been told about some amazing places to the north, near the mountains,” She said, looking toward it. The mountains were just out of view and would be take a while to travel.

Potewa nodded his head. He would rather be welcomed or just unnoticed over anything else. He did not really want to be a problem, as that led to complications, and he wanted to live a relatively easy life. Even if he was not settled anywhere yet, he wanted to avoid any unnecessary trouble.

"Adventurer?"

Though he wandered, he did not consider himself particularly adventurous. After all, he was a bit too prissy for that kind of thing, and he did not really enjoy, as previously mentioned, getting into trouble. Of course, that was usually limited to doing so on accident. He had never really gone out looking for it before. Maybe sometimes he did get a little bored, but...

"I've never been to the mountains," he said. He had been near them, but not up them. It would probably be a very difficult journey, and he had never had a reason to try it.

"Is that where your adventure is taking you, then? To the mountains? What do you hope to find there?"

“Not sure what I'll find there.” Levigis stated bluntly, but with a grin. Truthfully she had no plans for her adventure. She went where she thought she would find something interesting. “I guess I hope I will find something spectacular once I climb up it. It must have an amazing view. Even if I find nothing up there, at least I can say that I climbed it.”

She imagined telling her siblings about the adventures she had. But she knew that she could not return back to them with tales of only a couple of the adventures she had gone on. She wanted to share with them tale after tale.

Her eyes were fixed on the mountains, eagerly waiting to climb up it. “What's even more exciting is wondering what is on the other side you know? For me that's what being an adventurer is all about, exploring the unknown.” She said in a blissful tone.

“Has your travels led you to anything interesting?” She asked curiously.

Potewa nodded his head. It sounded like as good a plan as any, really. Wanting to see the view was a reasonable desire, for a creature that could wander where ever they wanted to go. He had no real reason for wandering, after all.

He just happened upon areas and ended up exploring them.

"I haven't done anything too exciting so far. I suppose I've just been looking for something to do. Would you mind terribly if I asked to escort you up the mountain? I could help protect you and hunt with you, and offer some small manner of protection..."

Of course, she did not know him and had no reason to trust anything he said, but the way she spoke about her adventure had his interested piqued. He could not help but want to see the other side of the mountain now.

Levigis' eyes lite up. “I would love it if you escorted me. Traveling alone can be such a bore.” She said, unable to hide the excitement from her voice. On her journey so far she had little company on the way. This would be a delightful change.

She looked over at the mountain and wondered what was in store for them on the other side. Soon she would get to explore the land at the top of the mountain and maybe check out some caves. Exploring caves was one of her favorite things to do when seeing a new area.

“I'm ready to head up whenever you are ready.” She said eagerly, her tail flicking back and forth. From this adventure, she knew she would gain stories to tell.

Potewa nodded his head, smiling a bit in relief when she said she would not mind him keeping her company. He felt much better when he was taking care of someone, and looking out for them, rather than having to focus on himself.

"I'm ready."

He stood up straighter and puffed up his fur a bit, looking regal and ready. He would be a damn good guard dog, for a lion, that was for sure. He wanted to take care of her now that he had promised he would.

And the adventure, too. He was looking forward to that, as well. He had the feeling that she was really going to help him open up a bit. Which would be good for him, at the end of the day.

"Let's get going."
