So far all that Iaana'damu was doing these days was pelt hunting. It was a noble task, something that clearly needed to be done, and yet she hadn't managed to bring in a single pelt big enough to truly cover anyone. Beyond cubs, that is. At first it had been alright. All she wanted to do was help after all, and her effort was showing.

What she truly wanted though was a large pelt - something that even the Queen would take notice of!

If the Queen like what she was doing then surely she would bless the cheetahs Iaana'damu would surely one day reintroduce into her bloodline. Her family could climb back out of the mud and be Nobility once more.

It spurned her to keep looking even when the rest of the pride slept. Foolish, to some degree, but she wasn't tired and her paws were itching to work.

Cles had admittedly been slacking in his duty to collect pelts for the winter that was coming. The stoic leopard knew that he would want to be warm once the winter came but rather spend his time now studying, collecting histoires, and well pretty much anything that wasn't going out into the forest to collect pelts from other animals. But as Neve had been so kind to remind him over and over it didn't look very good that he wasn't out there helping when the Queen had asked everyone to collect pelts.

Neve circled above her master chirping happily, "Are we going out hunting Cles?" she asked him happily, the bird didn't mind spending her days hanging bones up in the library but Neve liked to get out and hunt in the woods every once in awhile, using her sharp eyes to track prey and locate pelts.

"Yes we are going out hunting." Cles answered her quietly, "But first there is someone I have to find." The blue leopard was looking for the female lioness that had gone out hunting with him before. She had proven to be good companion.

Neve clucked her tongue she knew who her master was looking for and she was none to happy about it.

Iaana'damu wasn't terribly surprised to see the Scholar out once again. It had been some time since she had last seen him, but he had been pleasant enough company. His avian, though, was another story all together. She could have lived without seeing that living snowball ever again.

"Master Sophocles, it is a pleasure to see you, as always." Iaana bowed her head to him, and after a moment of subtle eye rolling turned to his avian. "Are the skies pleasant for you today, Mistress?" I hope a strong gust sweeps through and knocks you into mud. It wasn't as if she particularly disliked the bird enough to do her harm, just...a little mischief was all.

"Is there something I can assist you with today, Sir?"

Cles smiled when he saw the green lioness already heading towards the forrest, it suited him not to have to go looking for her and then go out to the forrest, two birds one stone so to speak, he glanced up at Neve when the saying ran through his head, he knew she hated it and he felt slightly guilty over having had it pass through his head. Cles didn't mean to upset Neve most of the time and he certainly would try not to but the damn bird was just so temperamental and worried about the rules. He offered her a kind smile while he gazed up towards her, knowing that she was going to be unhappy that they were going hunting with Iaana again.

"Ah Ianna I am glad that I found you. We are to go hunting again, do our duty for the pride, and all that other good stuff." he said sounding rather bored about doing his duty for the pride, he wouldn't be so caviler about it when he was freezing his tail off in the winter.

Neve eyed the lioness with some suspicion but at least the lioness was showing her the respect she deserved, it was a step. "They are quite good, I believe I will be staying up here." She said cooly, she didn't bother to ask the lioness how she was or anything in fact she turned her head away from the lioness all together as she flapped her wings and lifted herself higher into the sky.

"Come on Cles let's get this hunt done with." she said already gliding her way into the forest trying to scout out some pelts.

"Very good, sir." Iaana'damu nodded sincerely. It was what she was out to do herself, and it warmed her to see others from the colony helping. Even if he didn't particularly sound thrilled about it, the effort did not go amiss.

For the most part she chose to avoid Neve. Of course she could play it off as focus on her work, but it was no secret that Iaana'damu disliked others of her station. To her, that included most familiars, and a particular bird as well. "I fear that is for the best, Mistress. The ground is quite hard, and sharp to the touch with cold...almost like fangs."

Looking to the West, Iaana'damu pointed out a spot of ground that had proven fertile in better seasons. "I've seen others come out of this area with bountiful pelts. Shall we try there first, sir?"

Neve didn't bother to respond to the lioness instead she fluttered a bit higher up into the sky so she would be able to see further into the distance perhaps she would be able to find some big game for them to bring down. Plus from up here she wouldn't even have to pretend to have a reason not to talk to the lioness as they hunted.

Cles smiled, pleased that the lioness was willing to come back out with him, he didn't really want to be doing this and he figured he could likely get her to cary whatever they found back to the collation. He would prefer to keep his paw clean as possible.

"Alright then, lets go that way." Cles said his voice pretty well neutral.

Neve let out a little chirp, she didn't want to call out any words incase she tipped of the beast but right before ahead of the leopard and lioness below her was a full grown male antelope. She hoped that it was Cles that got it instead of the lioness.

Cles was older, and he had't hunted in a lot of years but when he saw that antelope before him he lept into action backing his kill quick. So much for keeping his paws clean.

Raising her head with smug pride, Iaana guided the scholar towards the a fore mentioned area. Truly it was cold enough to turn sneezes to icicles, but the area was ripe for the picking entirely because of the cold. It made creatures desperate; desperate enough to try and outwit their larger predators. Too bad it didn't work out well for them.

Hanging back, Iaana'damu watched keenly as Sophocles took down the beast. If she had taken it for herself surely that wouldn't have couriered any favor. So instead she brought out a smile, "A good strike, sir. Shall I skin it for you?"

"Good job Sir" Neve called down the Cles. Shew knew that the leopard wasn't much of a hunter. In fact in the years that she had known him she was pretty sure she had never seen the blue male hunt, not even once. None the less the white avian was brimming with pride when Cles brought down the antelope that pelt would go a long way in helping keep the members of the pride warm trough the very chilly winter.

Cles took a step back from the antelope and looked up to where Neve was circling above. He gave her a quick smile. He knew that his rule following avian would be pleased. Neve was always concerned about the their appearances in the pride.

"Yes Iaana if you could skin that that would be nice of you." Cles said taking a seat and cleaning the blood from his paws.

Neve circled down a little to watch the skinning process she wanted to make sure that Iaana was going to do an adequate job, while she was coming down she was also looking for their next pelts.

"Very well," Iaana moved closer and set about working. With the bird watching her movements she felt particularly grumpy, though she didn't let it show. Skinning the creature wasn't hard at all, and once she had the work done she set about finding others.

It took a bit of fan-dangling but within time she had a few jackal pelts and one measly scrap of one. The last wasn't really worth her time, but it had been one of the few she hadn't had to hunt down, so at least it came free.

"Should we be making our way back down, sir? The chill is becoming worse. I would not see you ill." Even as she said it she was more concerned with her own paws, and the ache that had risen from them. It was a small price to pay to keep her home warm, but the burning cold...She shivered.

While Iaana worked away skinning the big pelt Cles had found and went about finding her own. Cles went about with the help of Neve to find a couple more pelts. Of course they were no where near as good as the first one they had collected.

"Right there sir." Neve called down every time she saw something that would be of use to keep those in the pride warm in the cold season. She was overly happy that Cles had managed to bag such a large animal skin it would cast a favourable light on him when he returned that to the Queen.

Cles was growing tired and when he heard Iaana suggest that they return back he gave a quiet nod "Ah yes that would be very good. Thank you for your consideration Iaana you are correct it would not be good for me to fall ill." The blue leopard turned and began to trot back to the colony, leave the lioness to carry all the things they had collected.

Neve clicked her tongue when the lioness spoke up she knew the truth she knew that the lioness was just growing weary but the white avian decided not to say anything and instead flew next to Cles' should low to the ground. She wanted to make sure the lioness did attempt any sort of conversation on the way back to the colony's main area.
