User ImageNalo was a little bit pass his pride's borders in the rogue lands. He had scampered off due to the overwhelming winter festivities that were going on at this time of year. While Nalo loved festivities, just like any other pride member, the winter months were by far his least favorite time of the year. The temperature was much cooler than it was during any other season, it rained, it was cloudy, the plants were dormant as were many of the animals that lived in the rogue lands, and it was all around boring, cold, and uneventful to him.

So, instead of being around everyone else, Nalo thought that he should be practicing for spring when it came. He absently hoped that he didn't run into any trouble, as he was not much of a fighter and knew that he likely wouldn't fair well in one. However, he was confident that he had chosen a safe place near the border of the Sikukuu.

Shari was making sure she got the hell out of Dodge, that was certain. She'd been following the scent of food and had mistakenly crossed over a pride border. It hadn't been her fault, really. The scent markers where she'd crossed over were so faint she hadn't noticed them over the smell of food. It wasn't until she caught wind of a huge group of felines and canines alike that the wild dog had realized her mistake. Not that she'd been caught, of course. It was like the entire pride was distracted by something. She had been lucky, all things considered.
The pride didn't seem like one that was too terribly violent. Shari was confident she could have hunted here and still not be discovered. But out in the roguelands, one needed to calculate risks very seriously. A single mistake could mean a slow and painful death. The one risk Shari was usually never willing to take was getting messed up in prides or packs. Despite her fighting ability, the female could only take on so many opponents at a time before the numbers simply overwhelmed her. With prides or packs, one was almost assured that back-up was nearby.
So the female was headed back out, leaving the smells and sounds of some sort of celebration behind her. Shari looked back once more to make sure that no one was following her. It seemed clear. Stupid pride. Whatever nonsense they were engaged in had left them nearly defenseless.

Looking around, he noticed another wild not to far from where he was.

Nalo didn't recognize them, but his friendly personality and life unaccustomed to danger lead him to yell out, "Hello there!"

He hoped that they were friendly, friendly was what Nalo was used to and what he unconsciously expected. What would anyone have to be sad about in this wonderful world?
