The Hunter
Name: Kimberly Whitmore
Nicknames: Psycho, Spazz (Foster home nicknames)

The Weapon

Name: Chinthliss
Nicknames: Boss, Pest
Type of Weapon: Whip
Former species of weapon: manticore
Gender: .Male


Personalities:

Kimberly is the regular tough as nails type girl. She hates being told she can't do something and as such will go out of her way to prove the person that told her wrong. Unfortunately that also means that she is prone to taking insane risks and dares to the limit.

Attitude: She tends to be a bit of a Spazz, reacting strangely or getting mad and agitated for the weirdest reasons.

Team player? :When working as a group Kimberly tends to be pretty good, she will follow almost all the rules given to her, though if she feels she can do something better she tends to .. warp the rules to fit what she wants. (she knows she will be punished but is too compulsive to actually care)

Friends: She wants to make them, really she does, it is just hard for her to understand others at times. Likely she will only make one or two close friends and even then, be wary.

Flashbacks: They are her bane, she tends to remember what happened as a child and it freezes her from time to time, making her break out in a cold sweat, or get sick.

Music: Kimberly is always listening to some kind of music, even when talking or listening to others, she calls it the sound track to her life. One can often judge what kind of mood she will have by catching the strands of the songs coming from her headphones.

Down time: To relax she likes to play video games, assassins creed, rpgs it doesn't matter, she likes to chill by killing things in game. "If I can't do it for real.. I'll kick a** virtually." She has a hand held console usually tucked somewhere in her jacket.

Chinthliss: He is more of a mental and emotional support to Kimberly, reminding her of how to behave and to focus on what is important. Without him, she would likely be running around attacking shadows thinking she is in danger.

Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?

Nothing you see is fake... EVERYTHING is real... Even if it shouldn't be.

Having lost her family at a young age, and being fostered out often, she lacked stability, and started to see things that she was sure were not really there. A glimpse from the corner of the eye at first, then more.. She was seeing monsters but felt she was just going insane. This started twitches in her, as she tried to explain what should not be there. The others kids thought she was making things up, and adults felt she just wanted attention. She KNEW that things were there though...

"I can help you.. if you let me." The voice called to her, and when she found the source, she found her calling.

A loud whip snap intended to jolt and disturb the opposition into losing concentration.

The Barrier
By concentrating their Fear, disciples of this technique can materialize their Fear into a physical shield or Barrier. In combat, damage is subtracted first from the Barrier then the protected's HP. This effect can be used to protect yourself OR another character.

The Bite
While it doesn't appear impressive at first, the Bite enables the user to steal Fear from their opponent when attacking. Hunters will discover that they are unable to charge their Weapon while this effect is active as their weapon is too busy converting the fear they stole into their own fear shields.

Note #2 - DEFENDING: You will NOT absorb HP while defending with this active! Defending with the Bite active WILL USE UP A TURN!
Note #3: If you have this ability and you use a Fear or Defend, IT WILL COUNT AS A TURN USED.
Note #4: If used with the Eye, the duration of the effect will be extended. The maximum duration this Fear attack can have is four turns.
Note #5: This ability CANNOT be cast on someone else! This can only target and heal the user!

The Chill
Your basic heal with no fuss and no muss. Can be used to heal the user or a target, but cannot be used to restore Barrier HP.

Amount Healed: Add up the remaining dice.

Note #1: You cannot go over your maximum HP.
Note #2: You cannot restore Barrier HP.

The Eye
The Eye is a technique used to boost a target's damage output AND accuracy, making them more dangerous to their opponent. This type of Fear is best used in one-on-one fights.

Tier One:EY1

First Dice: represents your Accuracy.
xxxxx 1: You move worked, but it backfired! Change YOUR OPPONENT'S modifier from -6 to -5.
xxxxx 2-3: Miss
xxxxx 4: Success!
Second Dice: represents how many turns the effect lasts.
xxxxx 1-2: One Turn
xxxxx 3-4: Two Turns
Effect: Target subtracts -5 instead of -6 to determine damage. If used and the ally uses a Fear, add +1 to the ACCURACY result/dice. If the Fear does not have an accuracy, add it to the total. Be sure to note this in your post and double-check any attacks made against you!

Example:
Sue is a Y3 creature. She activates T2 Eye on herself and rolls 4, 3. For the next two turns, she subtracts -4 instead of -6.
Opponent attacks!
Sue attacks. She uses 2d8-4 to find her damage.
Opponent attacks!
Sue activates a T3 Barrier on herself, rolling a 4. As T2 Eye adds +2 to a Fear and the Barrier doesn't have an accuracy, this would add onto the Barrier's duration. However, as indicated in Note #3 of the Barrier, the maximum number of turns the Barrier can last is 4. Therefore, for the next four turns Sue has a shield of 15/15 HP.
In addition, Sue's Eye effect ends.

Note #1: The Eye effects a Fear's accuracy. If the Fear doesn't have an accuracy, it will effect the duration.
Note #2: The Eye cannot affect Fears used after the fact. For example, if someone has a Barrier up you cannot use the Eye on them to extend the duration. The only way to extend a duration is to first cast the Eye on them, then the target activates their Barrier.
Note #3: Going off of Note #2, if someone has the Eye cast on them then someone else casts the Barrier on them, the effect of the Barrier is NOT extended.

Just a quick note about the nicknames you have listed for her, they seem a little intense and harsh for a new hunter; does she have a history of being called those?

Personality > If she doesn't like being told not to do something, how does she handle authority figures, such as the Deus leaders? The same with her taking insane risks and daring the limit, all of which are fine, but just know that there will be consequences for hunters who don't follow orders and such! If you're cool with that, then it's all good!

It does seem to conflict a little bit with the "team player" trait, since you said she's reckless, daring, and hates to be told not to do something, just as a note!

History > This is unfortunately a little too out of line with general shop canon. Monsters wouldn't have killed her family, and neither would the shadows. Hunters are able to see what normal humans aren't, like the shadows, but the idea that her entire family was slaughtered by them is highly unlikely. You can still have her have a tragic background (perhaps she experienced some severe trauma as a child and grew up in a foster home or something), but as of right now it just needs a bit of tweaking to fall in line with shop guidelines! <:

FEAR > I think it would help if it was just tweaked a little! It doesn't quite seem to fit with her weapon. Maybe she cracks the whip and that creates a certain sound that disorients her opponent? That way you could still have The Mind as the mechanic! Or something similar, you don't have to use that suggestion exactly!


You have a great start, she just needs a bit of tweaking! biggrin

Yup, she does. I added that to her past (when I changed it up)

I'm not sure yet how she will handle the leaders but I am sure being punished a few times will let us all know. I am cool with it all.

Yeah I added the ? just for that reason. I am not sure she will be a good one or not. I will let her see if she will fall in line.

Good point. I will change that all up... actually I have. I think starting to see monsters when one already has very little in the way of something to cling to is good trauma anyway. ^_^ Let me know if I should tweak it more.

Also good advice. I was going to try to play on the whip being a manticore but if poison can't work well (as I was thinking an extending barb in the end of the whip) the noise will work.
