Kayitz believed today was going to be a normal day. Yesterday was the antithesis, including a strange entanglement with a god and this morning a strange tingling in her tummy. But she was sure it was nothing. Therefore, today had to normal. She was padding along the grass, head held high, smiling goofily. It was always strange to see a random, solitary lion smiling to themselves. But for Kayitz, it wasn't strange. It was normal.
The sun was shining and there were birds circling lazily overhead. The happy-go-lucky lioness had no reason whatsoever to believe that her life was any less than perfect. Of course, this was before she had any idea that yesterday's dalliance would result in two cubs in just a handful of months. Nor did she have any clue of the monster she was fated to encounter.
