Having just gotten off of her short shift tonight, Alexis ran a hand through her still done up hair for the evening, scowling at the stiff strands from the glitter hairspray she was forced to use to make her dark hair catch the lights of the stage better. She was not a vain creature, but even she knew enough to know this was not a look people normally wore when out and about. But she was not using the tiny shower in the back, no way in hell. "Stupid early night," she grumbled, her husky voice stirring the rodents further down the alley into motion, making her curl her lip. So much for high end, New York was nasty.
Scowling once more, she started down the street toward the bus stop to get a ride home, she could walk, but she wasn't feeling very interested in having to pass the homeless on her way home again, it made her think back to thoughts best left alone.

There was a homeless man that started toward her, swaying on the sidewalk. It wasn't uncommon, but Alexis was on guard all the same. She had lived on the streets before, she knew what to expect of a desperate homeless person, men even more so. But unlike most of them, she wasn't going to instantly offer help to just anybody.
"You lost?" She asked, once he was only a couple feet away, the stench of booze and smoke wafting toward her on the slight breeze. It made her stomach clench, mostly due to the unwashed body that was nearly overpowering a smell she had long since gotten used to.
The man raised his head, bloodshot eyes glaring at her before crooked teeth were revealed with a leering grin. Great, just what she needed, a perv, and considering she was still down up for work on her neck upward, revealed by the tank she was wearing, She decided the best way to handle him without having to call the cops.
Yanking her key chain up from her jeans on the thick chain links, she lifted her mace and sprayed at his face before turning and rushing back to the club, cursing under her breath the entire way around the corner.
Could a girl never catch a break? She had to wonder as she flashed her I.D. and went back inside to the bar. She'd hang around for awhile, give the guy outside time to get far enough away and then head home the way she normally had to, walking.
