It had been a few days since he had returned with his new thrall. He had got her settled into a small den right beside his own, both so he could keep an eye on her and to keep her safe from over-ambitious reavers. He had shown her were the general pride food store was, and explained her general day to day duties, which included fetching food if he asked, keeping both her own and his den tidy and to generally mind him when they were about the pride together. He also made sure she understood that she answered to him and him alone. No other lion, from the lowest thrall to the Warlord himself, could command her. Though it was probably best to obey the Warlord if he did speak to her. Not that Ragnvard thought Ruzski would bother. The dark lion had an entire pride to control after all.
Stretched out on a sun-warmed rock, the rust-coloured Captain waited for his newest acquisition. He had given her a couple of hours to herself, but she was due back any moment and he wanted to take her to where she would hunt fresh meat. Now that she had started to settle in, he felt it was right to start giving her actual chores to do. Otherwise she would simply become bored, and hunting would keep her skills up and keep her fit. As she would soon be joining him on his next Viking.

Rieseln was having a grand ol' time in her new pride. The lions here were a lot rougher and tougher than her old pride and she had to watch what she said to certain lions, but that's what made it exciting! She had spoken to lots of new faces and even made a friend in a fellow Thrall in the short time she had been here. It was refreshing, she had to admit, to be around others so constantly. This was what she was missing. Now she had a job to do, though. Ragnvard wanted to show her how to perform her duties. She had no trouble going out to hunt or keeping dens tidy as both were something she enjoyed doing already. It seemed, to her at least, to be a deal made more in her favor than his. She got to do things she enjoyed and was allowed to join the Captain on his Vikings. Not all Thralls got that privilege, she had come to find. Feeling quite light on her toes, she spotted the large lion sunning on a rock and trotted over to meet him. "Afternoon," she called out cheerfully as she got closer. "Nice day to catch some rays."

Her cheerful greeting made the war hardened Captain grin, amused. She certainly was a cheerful girl, and he was rather surprised to find her lighthearted attitude and complete lack of fear around him to be refreshing. Standing he jumped lightly off the rock, waiting for her to come up to him. "Indeed... Though that is not a very productive way to spend the day." Chuckling to show her he was teasing (something the rest of the pride would not think him capable of) he turned and started walking lazily along, motioning for her to join him, "How have you been finding your new home?" He asked as they walked.

Rieseln laughed and shrugged a bit as she came up beside the larger lion. "You're the boss, right? The boss gets days to relax." At least, that was a good rule that she considered important. He had to oversee her, his Reavers, and himself. That was a lot to do! As they walked she bobbed her head in a slight nod. "Great so far. I met another Thrall that was very nice, we talked for a while, and I'm starting to get to know the lay of the land. Oh, and I got to go see the sea again! It's so wonderful," she said with a dreamy sigh. "My visions don't really convey just how...how awesome some things are!" Indeed, to see the ocean was one thing, but to experience it was completely another. Sand between her toes, a bit of the spray on her fur, salt in her nose, the sounds of the gulls and the waves crashing on the beach...it really was so much more than she could have hoped for.

Glancing down at her he smiled. She really was quite adorable. He would have to try and keep her that way, it was a nice change from the often overly serious and frequently belligerent tempers of his reavers. Listening as she chattered away, he would occasionally glance over at her as they walked. "I am glad to hear you are finding your paws. You can go to the beach any time you wish. It is not restricted." He made a mental note to take her there himself after their hunting trip. If she liked it so much it was an easy enough reward to give her. "Are there other places you wish to visit? Other than the ocean?" He asked, curious. Maybe she would give him new ideas for places to go Viking.

"Hmmmm...." Ries trailed off and furrowed her brows, trying to think of other places she'd like to go. She had heard stories of mountains, but she had no idea if any were close enough to venture to. "There were some rogues I met that came from mountainous land," she said after a few minutes of silence. "And they spoke of something called snow. It's like sand, only cold, I think," she said, tilting her head to grin at the idea. "I have no idea where mountains or snow are in relation to here, but I've never seen any nor have I had any visions of any. Perhaps one day seeing that would be nice, but it's not something I'm really set on.'

Letting her think as they walked, they were growing close to the hunting area when she finally gave an answer. "The mountains hu?" The Captain replied, arching a brow with amusement. For a rogue she really had lived a very sheltered life. It was not a difficult request however so he was happy to grant it. "Very well, I'll take you there sometime. It's been a while since I took the band that way anyhow." Their homeland was pretty mountain-like, with its jagged rocks and sharp winds. But snow was not a common sight and certainly not like the high peeks of the mountaintops. "Have you been to the jungle?" That was an unusual place, especially for a lion more used to the open plains. But he was sure she would find it just as fascinating, and if they were lucky they may get to capture one of the ghost-like leopards who lived there. Tipping his head he indicated the forest just up ahead. "This is where the best hunting is. The forest goes a long way and there is plenty of prey. But try to avoid hunting directly after someone else... " He knew she would already possess such common sense, but it never hurt to remind a new thrall when everything else was so very different, it was easy to forget that some things remained the same. Like hunting skills.

"Jungles? No, I've never been to any of those, either," Rieseln said, trying to contain her excitement. She had been to the deserts once and that wasn't a place she was looking to return to. It had been far too hot, even for her and her pale pelt. "We can add that to the list of places, then!" As they approached the forest in which she would hunt, she took in her surroundings and made a mental note of which way they had gone to reach it. She could hear all kinds of animals inside, screeching and hooting and hollering back and forth to one another. It obviously provided protection from predators on a general scale, but they probably knew to watch out for lions from this pride. "Yes, sir," she said as she stood up a bit straighter, like a soldier. "What's your preferred meat?" She might be small, but she had lived on her own for well over a year now, and had raised five cubs to boot! She wasn't shabby at hunting, not by a long shot.

He grinned at her obvious excitement. He hadn't intended on taking her to such places but now, with her bright smile and confident temper, he found that he was willing to include her in more things. She was less of a thrall and more like a freeborn, and he enjoyed the novelty of it. "Indeed we shall." He chuckled, letting her move in front as they neared the edge of the tree line. Her question made him pause, as he had not considered what he felt like as this had been for her benefit more than his own. Pausing he considered the shadowy interior. "Surprise me." Turning back to look at her he gave her a broad, amused grin. It could be seen as a challenge, if she wished.

Rieseln watched Ravngard walk off before turning to look at the forest before her. Surprise him, huh? She grinned, a determined look on her face as she walked forward into the trees. Oh, she'd surprise him all right. She'd find the craziest animal he'd ever eaten and serve it up on a silver platter. She had to earn her keep to stay here and, while she knew he really liked that she was a seer, she knew that that alone wouldn't keep her around. She had to show she could pull her own weight. Shoulders squared, she pushed through the foliage quietly, her ears and nose in tune to pick out the best prey for her first hunt.
