It was a usual, typical, bland day for the lone horseman. He was returning back to the territory of his remaining kin, from his daily workout in the woods near Amityville. Tanned skin held a light sheen of sweat that glistened under the caressing gaze of the sun, his dark crimson wings sagging a little at his sides as he strode through the territory of the remaining horsemans home. Vibrant gold coins for eyes would flicker about at the random going-ons of mares and stallions, seeing their happy, smiling faces... their chatter among one another, the camaraderie found in each other.

He could admit it; he was jealous.

His usual Halloween companion hadn't been there today, again, something he was starting to get unpleasantly used to. Thus his trips were cut shorter and shorter each time, his chosen area for keeping fit starting to wane in interest. It was quiet, a nice solitude for training both body and mind. But it also held the sense of hope each time he got there, only to be let down. It was getting dull.

Stopping before the looming tower that was now his home, his lids half drooped over his sharp eyes, the stallion mulled over his options. Normally he'd just sulk for the rest of the day in his nest near the top of the structure. But maybe that Famine mare and stallion needed help with their work. Then again... they'd said they'd find him, not vice versa.

So there he stood, demeanor more than drab and unenthusiastic, yet a far cry from what it had been when he'd first came here.

Eitri himself had had quite a pleasant day. He'd managed to finish the sword he'd been working on - for quite some time, mind you - and it now hung proudly in his workshop awaiting a buyer. The rest of his day had been spent wandering; he'd found a new cave with a few ore deposits that he'd mined and refined. When that was done, he tidied up his workshop, donating a few old, blunter weapons to the training grounds. He sharpened his own personal collection and polished his armor.

Indeed, it had been a busy day and as he did after every busy day - really, it was after every day - it was time for a drink. He was returning to the tower when he noticed the other horseman mulling outside. Eitri was about to walk past when his steps slowed and he came to a halt just in front of the other. He turned back around and swung an arm around the man's shoulders.

"Come friend," Eitri said with a grin, squeezing. "You look like you could do with a drink and I have just the stuff," His tone and the way he pulled the stallion forward gave the implication that declining wasn't much of an option. If there was one thing Eitri understood it was when someone needed cheering up - and nothing made him happier than a nice mug of mead or a glass of honey wine.

At first he didn't even acknowledge the sound of someone approaching. Quite used to horseman and halloweeners alike just passing him by, he'd gotten used to becoming just a part of the backdrop with others. So it was to his surprise when he heard the footsteps give pause, making his intense gaze shift over to see just who the individual was now in his company. Faster than he was able to register though, a large arm took to hooking around his shoulders, naturally making him tense, and his wings elevate with surprise.

Head turning to full on face the opposing force, his muscles prepped to resist, wings starting to splay in aid to the cause... only to slowly recede as he listened and watched this stranger... speak to him. And in such a friendly tone. Instantly he began to try and figure out if he knew this stallion, eyes scanning over him thoroughly, a brow even crooking rather high with his perplexed expression. Legs moving with the flow of the others insistent guidance, he finally managed to find his voice, eyes squinting a little as he continued to stare,

"do... I know you...?" he asked slowly, almost carefully as if hesitant if he even trusted his own judgement. It had been so long, though... and there were constantly horsemen coming and going around here, surely it was possible for a familiar face to have changed over the course of time... right?
