It's the Halloween Day! Everyone's cheery! Everyone's throwing candies to another!

-except Mahlan. She was still upset that tonight's schedule of sneaking into the Pumpkin Patch and listening the promises of love in form of sweet nothings whispered into one another's ears using the special Golden Ear candy, was utterly decimated.

BUT HALLOWEEN DAY WAS THE DAY WITH HIGHEST PUMPKIN PATCH VISITS ON A YEAAAAAAAAAR!!! THINK ABOUT ALL THOSE GOSSIPS AND NEWBORN BOILS!

"No, this can't do. I will raise a protest to the profs- they can't expect me to miss that-"

Two students passed the burning-by-emotion Mahlan while dragging a bucketload of candies. CANDIES!? CANDIES!

After a little interrogation, the students said that the candies was given out by the professors in an actual trick-or-treat event. Hey, two birds with one arrow! Mahlan quickly invoked the insta-costume spell and took one plastic bag from Creepiteria, hoping to appeal for her cause AS WELL as getting candies!

The first office she dropped in was the one with most relation with her predicament. Yes, it was professor Winter's. The demoness in question was...in strange, purple costume. That she managed to see after a lot of knocking and shouting Trick or THREAT at the door. she protested a bit about getting sent into the Human world when she can just snoop around-

Well, the rant lasted for some minutes until the professor said that if she doesn't have business here and continued to waste her time, she will have a detention.

Mahlan doesn't want that, so she quickly switched to pretending that she was there for the Trick-or-Treating. Professor Winter smiled for a bit, and asked her to roar.

Uh, roar? She is a plant spirit, how can she even know how to roar-but the professor doesn't want excuses so...

"Um, like this? "
RAAAAAAR!

She managed to strain her non-exist vocal chords to let out a strange sound. Was that enough?

She did get two candies for her effort...so yes.

It's like a museum in here...kinda? With the bones and all...the lamp is kinda stylish, in Mahlan's standard. The professor was busy admiring...or rather making something outta the various bones. He said to just take the candy, but...which candy?

There's some candy that she never seen before...what's whiskey bourbon? Also Nougat? Thinking that it was better to taste something that she never had before, Mahlan took one of those fancily-wrapped Bourbons from beneath a pair of Treasure Treats, which hissed angrily afterwards. Okay, into the candy bag it goes!

The next professor...was the Modern Scaring Teacher, also known for her fondness of humans not losing to professor Selene. In fact...she was wearing a human costume. In order to get a candy from her and the vulture, she mus guess which cup has a small ghost token inside of it. Why ghost, by the way?

The professor offhandedly replied that everyone loves ghost! While adding a faint "-especially Casper."

Eeeeeh...that's not reasonable enough, thought her while lifting one cup without much thinking. The token inside was a reaper: how fitting. She got one candy for trying still.

Welp, here comes nothing. "Trick or Treeeeeeeewhuh?"

Another time slip? "What's with yer clothing, teach....?" Mahlan braved herself to ask, since the professors are wearing...something really outdated. Also, why're professor Argyle here too?

After a quick exchange, she learned that both of them dressed in 'retro' style as a theme for the Halloween costume, and will test her Human Studies about-what happened in 1920?

Crap. She didn't remember anything...can she make something up? Think, Mahlan, think-the professors are wearing something from that era-

"OH! Did you know that in the human world, the first movie about Vampire was played on their cinemas in 1920? That's probably when some of the oldest Vampire here comes to be!"

She peeked up to Argyle...which is now clutching his face. Crap. The snakish professor quickly slipped one candy into her hand and pushed Mahlan away before the vamp can lecture her about racial offense.

The next office...was the Theatrical Act teacher. As expected from a play-related teaching officer's; the decoration is perfectly on mark, there's no excess decor anywhere, the atmosphere is set...

Well, excluding the fact that the artificial cobweb was sticking on his horns. Since Rengath was an acting-act teacher, he demands Mahlan to 'play' into the costume she's wearing---how was Peter Fang supposed to act, anyway?

"*ehem* MWAHHAHAHAHAH! I'll take good children who sleep on time to WANDERLAND! You will age into adults and have responsibilitieesss!!!"

While Rengath critizes her accent, it was a quite good show; two candies found their way into Mahlan's bag!

The Creatures professor was sitting on the rickety chair as usual, the room was not any different from usual...aside from a small cauldron on the table and a chimera-cat guarding said pot, filled with small candy cats.

Pyre said that in order to get the candies, she must get pass the caticore...wasn't it?

Any way can be done...huh. So let's do this the old-fashioned way-

"TORYA!" Mahlan stabbed at the cauldron with knife-hand pose, but it was countered with a stinging bite from the caticore- erp, she failed to get any candy. What's more she can sense something...poisonous injected when the creature bites. Quickly she halted the sap circulation near the bitten spot and purged it out, making Pyre whistle for the trick.

The Master on Unlocking's room is as empty as usual, given all things that are locked has no meaning being here. The professor, different from usual, was wearing a toga and laurel leaf crown...was he trying to portray a kind of a human god or something? Maybe that so-called athlete of old?

The professor devilishly smiled after saying that if she want a candy, she must search for it-all those candies has been hidden inside the office room. Hmm...where should she search-hey, the distribution of the light inside the room was strange. Was something wrong with the lamp...

Oh. That's because a candy was hidden inside the fixture; a little dusty but it's a win!

The room was blanketed...no, strangely filled with darkness. This is not the usual darkness, as Mahlan can see something like wispy tendrils of black fog swirling at the ground even before entering; it must be something enchanted...or worse, alive. Fortunately as she opened the room, the professor can be seen doing something on the desk...paperwork? But why do you still have paperwork on holiday---ah heck, she's not related to that anyway. Also there's a large...very large bowl filled with candy to the brim inside the room.

So she only needs to walk into the room and grab the candies, right?

First step is always the most dangerous---

*squish* "KYA!" What the heck did she stepped on? It's squishy, kinda round and---she kinda lost balance, but thanks for her tail she managed to propel her body straight. Fwuh.

That slip-up made the professor threw two candies for her to have, and shooed Mahlan away since she's kinda dangerous-for some things in the rooms, anyway.

The next office...nah, it's not really an office, but rather the prep-room of the Creepateria. Ms. Caroline the cook was famous for making all kinds of menus that satisfied so many stomach of the students, be it of the past or the future.

Maybe it's the time to give her a nice treat for a change. "Wreckonomics, yer gonna be wrecked!"

And so Mahlan decided to bake something for the good cook. Some Sinnamon-infused cupcakes maybe? She puts extra amount of the powder to make it extra bitter.

Maaaybe a little too much.

Next on the list...was Professor Red. Err, she has seen some kind of strange things during this Trick-or-Treat.

Can it be any stranger? Mahlan sighed and opened the door...well at least the room looked normal...except the large door in the middle the room. Why there's a door inside a room anyway?

She beckoned Mahlan inside the room, and said that she can get some candies inside the door. Don't tell me, it's another portal-like object? She was reminded to wear her costume properly...

As she entered the open door, the space around her twisted and warped into what looks like kaleidoscope, the air was too sugary to breathe in-

Also, her tail disappeared, the back-wings became real wings...don't tell me-

Mahlan grabbed one turtleshell candy and used it as a mirror; what.

"Why my face! Heck, my voice too?" Not to mention her breast, but yes.

She became...Peter Fang.

Also, a shadowy...cross that, a being made from black licorice candy in Peter Fang's form appeared, made a gesture of salute, and attacked Mahlan. "Tch!" As (s)he parried the attack, Peter Fang quickly took off using the stolen fairy wing on his back. "You again, Dark Fang. I told you already, I don't wanna be a kid again!" (s)he lunged with full speed, kicking the shadow into a cake.

The battle between the two Fangs unfolded, a massive amount of icing, sugar and topping has been desecrated from their respective place. It was so exciting that Mahlan forgot this was supposed to be another of those danged AU portals that may trap anyone eternally should they remain inside for a prolonged time.

Mahlan took a step back from living her role as Peter Fang and skipped re-enacting the fight, rather just skipped to the ending part. Closing her eyes and concentrating, she can hear a rhythm-y cluck coming from one of the poached egg- "THERE YA ARE! CLUCKDILE!" The half-hen, half-crocodile creature was the one that held the shadow's heart!

With a flourish Mahlan dashed, spinning the blades as she three-sected the creature, finishing the doppelganger with it. As soon as she did, the dimension crumbled, an exit opened---

-but she doesn't forget to grab some candy beforehand!

Last teacher on the round was Mr. X. She has seen this strange fellow few times when visiting the Weeping Woods for...inspiration. What else, actually. Huh, there's now a bucketful of ties. What's the occasion? She did took one and wore it on her arm. The substitute teacher he needs something to be taken from inside the Woods, but he has his hands full with...things.

Ah well, how bad it is to go into the woods? She can just trace the position of the object using her control over plants so it should not be a problem.

-hopefully so.

But few minutes into the woods proven how wrong she is. The Woods is a living things that continuously moving, shifting. Precisely because of that she needs to constantly monitor the subtle movement of everything.

This' gonna suck.
