Kyda was cold.

It was not long ago that the lioness had sought out and joined the Schnee, so it was not completely unusual, she was sure, for her to still be settling into the constant chill in her bones. Although she had wanted to ask other rogue initiates how long it had taken them, it was difficult too distinguish within the pride who had been born in and who had traveled there. Therefore, Kyda had decided to keep to herself - difficult for such a typically talkative lioness, but she felt it safer. She didn't want to betray the idea that she may be having trouble adjusting. Although everyone was warm (hah) and welcoming, the overall climate of the pride she had no quite figured out just yet.

And so, she remained contented to quietly exist within the centerpoint of the pride - another curse of her existence as a new rogue initiate. She needed to find herself a companion hare - and quick. The urge to go exploring was itching at her heels, and yet she knew she would look (and, of course, be) stupid for going out on her own. The area was quiet most times, but it could be quite dangerous - avalanches never gave any indication of their oncoming, and when they did, it was oftentimes too late. Kyda decided to switch thoughts rather rapidly from that depressing train, this time thinking about the positive impact making a friend could have. Perhaps that was the solution to her companion problem - a friend could easily escort her around as well or better than a hare! At the idea, Kyda glanced around coyly, attempting to spot any potential candidates.

Anyu had been born into the pride, he knew nothing else but the cold kiss of snow. Sure, he thought about how warmer area's would be but decided that they'd probably be too warm for him. He was curious about it, but never had the guts to actually leave the pride for a small period to figure out the world around him. Even if Lehnah was there to accompany him.

With that thought, he peered down at his hare companion. He was lucky to have him, but could hardly remember how he got him. Anyu was young when the hare decided they were friends. It was shocking at first, that they looked so close to each other. It was meant to be. Many of the pride's members had gotten hares that looked similar to them, they all decided it was a gift from the goddess herself.

Finally, he looked ahead of him to notice a lioness in the close distance. He didn't remember seeing her before, but her really didn't pay attention to too much. His mother had often told him to pay attention more, and now that he was an adult, he actually had to listen to that. He had his own responsibilities now "Hey, Lehnah, I think we have company"

Lehnah shook his head, he had seen the lioness for quite some time. Of course, that really didn't surprise him. Anyu had the mind of a carefree creature. Something Lehnah didn't have himself. It was strange how different they were in mind, but alike in look. "She's been there longer than you know" He spoke with a chuckle.

"Hello, there" Lehnah called out to her.

It wasn't long before Kyda heard someone calling after her. Whirling around, Kyda at first only spied the large blue-and-tan lion standing just a bit away. However, her mind recognized that the voice she had heard was not nearly big enough to fit the lion - which is when she saw the hare standing by his side. She grinned instinctively, shaking her head slightly. It was so strange how those born into this pride seemed to always have a hare that was their miniature twin. It didn't make much sense, and yet here it was, in front of her eyes once again.

Maintaining the smile, Kyda padded forward, ever-conscious of her paws sinking in the shallow snow. She wondered if those native to the pride ever noticed that, or if the sense went away after a while. Reaching the pair, Kyda paused before them. "Hello," she responded warmly, as warmth was all she knew. "Would you two happen to be adventuring?" The lioness was sure it sounded childish, but figured it was worth a shot. She tilted her head in inquiry, taking the moment to admire the thick fur covering the two of them. She'd heard from someone that hers would thicken with the more harsh winters she faced, but she wasn't quite sure when. Hopefully soon.

Anyu flicked his tail and smiled back at her. He couldn't really say they were adventuring, a walk around the place wasn't much of an adventure. "No, Not really adventuring." He said with a chuckle. Lehnah and him could go on an adventure, but again he was afraid to step out of the pride lands. He'd never actually admit that to anyone. He'd probably make some sort of excuse not to go.

"I can't say I've left the pride lands." He Nodded stupidly. " Do you adventure much?" He peek around as if looking for a companion. Though She didn't look like she was born into the pride. "Are you new?" He asked trying not to be rude or anything. He had met some new lions, but they come and go sometimes. As this place was a sanctuary for those who needed it. Once they felt they didn't, they were free to go. A lot stayed, he had to admit, but a lot had left once they felt they needed to.

Lehnah smiled but kept silent as they started to talk. He looked between one lion to the other, there wasn't much he could say without saying more than he needed. He could blurt out why they hadn't adventured, but Lehnah was sure that Anyu wouldn't like that at all. It'd be a good laugh for him and the lioness though.

Finally, he decided it was good time to introduce them, since their words hadn't gotten to that part yet. "This knuckle head is Anyu, and I'm Lehnah" He said with a nod.

At the male's response, Kyda found herself cocking her head. Because she had lived most of her life as a rogue, she couldn't imagine not adventuring. Even the lands of her newfound home here in the Schnee felt vast and unending - but maybe that was just an illusion formed by the snow. At his first inquiry, Kyda laughed. "No, I-" she paused to nod, indicating her recent induction into the pride. "Yeah, I'm relatively new here. My whole life has been spent adventuring, and then I come here and it seems as if I am at a distinct disadvantage." She looked pointedly at the hare by his side, still smiling.

When the hare spoke, Kyda jolted. "Oh, dear! I'm so rude, how could I have forgotten? I'm Kyda," she burst out, inclining her head respectfully. "It really is wonderful to meet you both. I haven't seemed to have much luck making friends just yet..." Her eyes wandered, settling once more on those of the lion standing before her. "Say, why is it you don't adventure much? If I had a companion by my side, you'd never catch me standing still." The lioness grinned once more, innocent to any fears held by those before her.

It took Anyu a few seconds before he realized what she was speaking about. He had completely forgotten one couldn't leave without a hare. He followed her eyes to Lehnah. "Oh! Oh, I'm sure you will find someone like this little fluff ball." He said with a smile. Of course, sometimes it wasn't that easy to get appointed a hare. Especially older lions, the cubs came first, after all.

A good chunk of the pride was still without a hare, but he supposed there was a reason for that. Nothing happened that wasn't suppose to. He smiled at her, but didn't want to say any of that. It might make her feel bad. "You're not rude." He said With a nod. "It can be hard to fit in at first," he started. "Just watch out for Sachin, he's a grump" He said with a chuckle.

"Most everyone else is pretty nice and won't be too hard to make friends." His smile almost vanished with her question. "Well.... I've...." He hesitated. He didn't want to come off as a coward. "I've just never had the need to." He said. It was only half a lie. "I was born here, and know nothing else."

Lehnah chuckled, not saying much else while the two talked. "This lump would rather stay near, except when hunting for food." He jumped in when he thought the time was good and ready for him to. "I'd say he was afraid of what might be out there." Lehnah forgot sometimes not to say what his mind was telling him.

He gave her a smile and chuckled. "I kid, we don't venture off far because it's not completely save around this time." He said with a nod. The weather was getting warmer, though one wouldn't notice that unless had been there a while. "With things warming up, the chance of avalanches are high. Even with a hare, it's dangerous." He was saving his friend's butt. At least for the moment. She could wonder why they hadn't any other time. But, this oaf had just become an adult recently, he was a fairly young lad.
