" It is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but ourselves. "
████████████████████████████████████

It was a late night; fall had came and breathed across the land
creating the first wave of what was to be a cold winter, perhaps. She could
feel the way the breeze moved over her spine, her tail trying to gently brush
it away but with no real luck. It was a fools hope. But, she stood quietly
underneath the open sky of the plains- where she lingered. It hadn't been long
since she had pulled apart from her mother and the herd. A lingering pang of
loneliness hid in her heart but continuously, she repeated, this was for her
own good. Being around others who were completely unsupportive and in
many ways, shallow- she was smart enough to know that it wasn't healthy. It
didn't stop that sickening feeling of being vulnerable. Anyone that she had
known was in that Herd and here she was being stupidly 'brave' to leave.
Was it worth it ?

A soft sigh left her velvet nose as she let her head hang down, the lights of
the stars reflecting off her soft coat. Defeat. She was feeling defeat, her legs
dragging as she continued the small walk. Soft wooden eyes peered down at
the earth, orbs taking in the details of the strips of foliage that surrounded
her. It was beautiful- everything was beautiful. The plains were open, wide
and embracing. This wasn't where she had grown up, no. The mare's vision
was normally cluttered by many trees in her sight- the moon was barely
visible and that in itself made her feel very alone. But here it was, shining
brightly in the night and yet that hollowness still filled her chest. It was
something inside of her- nothing on the outside would fix that, which was
becoming apparent. It wasn't like she had actively sought out other equines
though. A part of her, she was almost shy. Would they know she wasn't from
around here ?

A soft shake of her head, soft white yet tinted green hair shifted over her
face blocking her vision for a moment. Orbs closed gently, feeling the earth
below her and taking a deep breath of the cool air that moved inside of her
lungs. Centering herself, she couldn't help but release yet another sound of
spiritually being exhausted. What was right and what was wrong- there was
no defined law yet in her heart, she knew she was doing what was right. But
could this truly be what was right ? It was something that pondered in her
mind for a moment longer before raising her head up and letting her eyes
shift upwards.

Diamonds littered the sky, glittering brightly despite the darkness in the sky.
Arcadia was sure that even if the moon was gone, the stars would light up
the sky easily. Were those hopes and dreams of others, as well ? She wasn't
sure but for a moment, she liked to think so. As a foal, she had been told
that there were stars that held stories. Wondering if this was true, she
couldn't help but search deeply as her head cocked to the side. Lights
danced in the sky, color lining the night as the small borealis shifted softly as
if it was making an entrance. It was stunning- for a moment, she remained
enticed before a sound caught her attention. Ears snapped back as she
turned her head to look behind her. Was she being hunted ? There had been
stories about creatures, other equines actually, that preyed on their own kind.
This wasn't something she wanted to think about. Arcadia was a pretty small
mare- she wouldn't get far with words of acid to defend.

The chill in the air was almost inviting in a way to him but at the same time it meant winter was fast approaching. He had decided to, rather recently, break away from his family group and give it a go on his own. So far he had been enjoying himself, though he couldn't help but wonder how his mother was doing, or what his siblings were up to. It was just different not seeing them every day and he was sure in time it would feel less and less lonely, but for the time being he was starting to understand what it was like to feel homesick. It was a heavy feeling, and it resonated from his chest, making his stomach feel as though he had eaten a pile of rocks.

It wasn't the best thing he'd ever felt. Though he was sure there were worse.

Taking in a slow, deep breath of the cool air he let out a sigh and cleared his thoughts of negativity. He could do this. He was doing this. It was normal for him to miss his family. Especially since he had never been away from them for more than a day or two at most growing up. This was part of living, moving out and being on your own for a bit. He would come home and see them at some point. He just wasn't clear on when that might be.

Glowing gaze looked towards the sky and he paused his movements to watch the stars twinkling bright against the obsidian black drop. Watching them made him feel better, more at peace with himself. Deciding to finally carry on he looked down and spotted a pale green figure glowing softly in the moonlight. He watched for a moment and realized it was another traveling along. This made his heart soar for a moment because that meant he might have company soon, if they were welcoming. Carrying himself forward he kept a slow and steady pace, he didn't want to come barreling up to whoever it was and frighten them.

Bright blue curls bounced against his chest and neck as he pranced forward and his ears twitched as a twig snapped beneath his hooves. Looking down for a second he returned his gaze forward to see that the mare had stopped and had turned to look back towards him. While he was certain she hadn't known he was back here, she clearly did now. Feeling slightly embarrassed because he hadn't wanted to startle her he moved closer and gave her a shy smile. "I didn't mean to startle you miss." He started off, hoping she wasn't cross with him by any means. "I saw you from across the way and thought I would come say hello." Did he sound like a fool? Why was he suddenly a little nervous? "Would you mind if I joined you? It's kind of lonely out here." He wasn't exactly sure why he said the last part but there was no taking it back.

" It is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but ourselves. "

The figure finally was in her sight and slowly, she let dark eyes examine over
their features. Colors danced upon a dark coat, the bright shapes catching
her attention as well as the stars that danced on his rear leg and neck. In
appearance, he was stunning. The blue hair was soft curls that danced
around his features, the colors all bright and almost standing out under the
lights of the wave of almost a pastel rainbow above their head. Granted, she
hadn't expected to see another out here- at all. The plains were huge and not
many seemed to linger around these parts- especially at night but Arcadia
had no where to go so she had chosen to brave the night though she was
sticking close to the thick trees. But, it seemed he was either dumb or in the
same situation as she- which was interesting it itself. The idea of another
going through something similar to her was almost comforting, in a sad way.
You would never wish your own misfortune for someone but if someone
could understand- she was almost eager to ask about why he was out on the
plains but she knew it was better to read him more before diving into
questions.

An annoyed look flashed across her face for a moment at his word 'miss' but
it was softer than normal for the shyness that encased his features. If he
hadn't seemed actually sorry for his act, her silver tongue would have lashed
out in response quite quickly. Orbs focused on him for a moment before with
a flick of her tail, she sighed in almost annoyance. If he was sorry, would he
have not spoke out to alert her of his approach ? Of course not. He had only
his thoughts in mind and not of hers. It seemed too much to expect another
to see her as someone equal. These sour thoughts were not really from his
actions but those her 'family' she had just departed, and it seemed she was
feeling the need to push them on him- which wasn't fair either. The thought
alone made her sigh once more, more quietly this time. Her own thoughts
were a flurry in the presence of another- how embarrassing.

You saw me from afar but yet did not speak to let me
know you had ? A little cruel.
She mused, a soft huff leaving her
but it held a slightly playful edge to it as once more her silken tail shifted.
Turning her eyes to him, she listened to the last part as her head cocked to
the side for a moment. Lonely ? Had it been lonely ... ? Yes, it had but it
made her feel closer to the other once more. Was he experiencing what she
was ? Did he leave his herd as well ? Pursing her velvet lips together for a
moment, she observed him some before she shifted forward, facing the male
as the wind pulled at some of the soft white hairs around her face.

It can be lonely . . . She mused softly, her
tone somewhat somber as she looked away from his form back up at the
sky. But, in my own situation, I chose to be lonely. I've
never been grouped with what would be considered 'wise'.
Muscles
moved in her face making her almost hold her brows upwards some before
once more the dark orbs were shifting to look at the male. What was his
reasoning for being out here so late ? What if he was crazy or one of those
cannibals ? Shifting her hooves somewhat nervously at the thought, she
peered at him from the corner of her eye.If he was to be vicious, what could
she do ? Run ? Being a somewhat small mare, she wasn't sure how far she
would get. It was best to keep an eye on him, she decided. Not turn her back
on him or look too long away from him.

Well, wasn't she a feisty one. While he wasn't suave or anything he had always thought he was at least admiral in some ways. "I would have thought yelling at you from a distance would have been rather rude." Though he supposed he could have at least cleared his throat or something. He had honestly figured she would have heard him approaching if anything, guess that was the wrong way to think.

He liked how her white hair danced about her pale green frame, she was a vision to look at, though looks weren't ever really something that was important to him. Nor was he really looking right now either. "Is there something unwise about being alone?" He inquired at her general statement of being unwise for being lonely. "I mean, I'm sure there are those that would argue it's always better in numbers. But some like to travel alone."

He was alone as well, so that's probably why he brought it up.
