[･･･] He swayed back gently, black robes rippling, paused, and leaned forward again, as though pulled by the words as gravity pulled out the viscous fluid in his eye sockets to glide down tanned skin, mix, churn themselves amber, dip down a neck or drop down to the ground, leaving a decoration of splattered patterns upon the stonework. Sometimes mixing with the spilled-forth ooze of the pod behind him, othertimes creating a thick firework of sap-coloured secreation. "The Daimyo says I can't," He speaks softly, regret and shame tinting the tone as thick as the fluids leaking from his body. "... then I can't. This village is his property. I am his property." His head began to tilt up, away from you, but again an unseen blow pummels it - its chest concaves slightly - a sickening crunch, like dead branches breaking but filled with the thick, juicy bodies of grubs now mangled and burst. "But Jack said I could do this..." He gazes at you, unblinking, seeping. "Do you..." And the material of the black robe covering the chest clings inwards, heavy and wet. "See me?" It stumbles forward a step, and its arms move for the first time.
"Take it, quickly. Take them." It says - but the voice is different, as though coming from a fog previously, Inka speaks clearly now. "Just let me," The hands lay themselves on his chest, grip deep, wet bark breaking. "Keep protecting you?" The knees buckle - legs splintering open and becoming roots digging deep into the stone. "Even from myself." Crumbling down and inward like a tree felled from the inside by termites, his hips hit the ground as the robes spill down and melt, the black taking an oil-like quality as a prism of colours refracted off its melted surface. "Quickly." With the fabric having melted away, it revealed the sight of the tanned skin - and a smashed-in breast bone. A small, sad smile, and the fingers push aside the dissolving flesh to grip the sternum with a squelch. Prying apart the brittle bone revealed it to be more akin to paper mache - and a strange sight within. A heart that seemed to slow with every pulse, veined and tinted green, was held aloft a strange, metal object, its sheen and hue lost while in the depth of the moist, slime-dripping cavern.
Without any further aid, his body continues to split open, revealing how the innards more resemble a dissected stem; from the colour to the lack of most neccesary organs - or perhaps they had already been repurposed as the robe has been, now amber and blooming as petals florishing from the central pad of the melting upper torso. The heart, ready to be taken, has near stopped by the time the ribs fold open on their own. They splinter, replicate, and become fillaments, holding aloft the pollen-releasing nub of the amber flower - by which point the chest cavity, and all the contents withing, is gone, abosorbed into the base anchoring the petals to a central point.
What was once appearing human is now a glowing lotus nestled neatly down on the stonework - sheens of honey and blood refract over the silk petals - like forever dusk and dawn incarnate. You find it to be a gentle lightsource, with its thick, green roots travelling over the stone to dip deep into the chakra-rich waters of the village lake.

She had taken only a few steps to the entrance of the Sero when the vines started to ensnare their first prey. The panicked murmur, for a brief minute, turned into screams of fear, and then all was silenced, as quiet as that day of nightmares. Once again, only a select few were chosen to proceed to a solution. The select being those given pods to direct them. Kagerou, meanwhile, was frozen, unsure in which direction to go. Rush towards those who had just been captured and undergoing who knows what danger? Rush back to the Inkas who now had taken center stage as the most likely keys, a promotion from possible keys, to this situation? she couldn't decide out of shock. Then again, such a shock... wasn't new to her. She was not useless for long.
Adjusting her plans, Kagerou looked behind her at the Inkas she had just barely left. The ones who spoke, as twins, that all should forget them. That it'd be safer. The words had tugged Kagerou's heartstrings especially, cutting through even the screams of the ensnared innocents. It had been their voices, both apathetic and angry, that had held Kagerou to her spot when she would have otherwise been running forward to examine the pods, and continuing with that feeling, she had turned to walk back to them instead of continuing her steps to her original destination. Maybe that was all because she was still so wary of the possible enemies they could become. Otherwise, it was her instinct, telling her something that the brash logical thinking of before had missed the point of. It could also have been purely on emotion, the need to soothe those in trouble. It could have been that, except there was a whole sea of trouble around Kagerou now.
Ultimately, though, it was also the only option open to Kagerou after receiving the results. As much as her directions had taken into account each individual, they had also set up three separate scenarios: talk, leave, and advance. The results were showing now. While Takeda's Inka had bloomed into a flower, maturing into the next stage of life instead of dying, the untended two of the girls were doing just that. They were dying. Perhaps they were already dead, and sometimes, the dead were the most dangerous.
Kagerou retraced her steps back towards the wilting Inkas. "Miyuki," she called out, not shouting but still in a voice that carried, "Please wait... I think I was wrong." Staring into the red eye of her Inka and then the white of the exposed jaw that created such a contrast with the dark skin, Kagerou watched.

Idiot. Yes, I can see you. I can see...what Jack saw in you, rather. Takeda didn't make a response to the words of the clone before him, trying to put together pieces instead. It was probably something better suited to Kagerou's talents. Riddles and wordplay were easy to comprehend, but cryptic words and complex puzzles were beyond him.Inka was crumbling before his very eyes, being pummeled by an unseen force while still trying to explain himself. Its arms moved, and he heard it tell him to take something...take them. Every word was another question, another need to send out another outburst. Still, he bit the inside of his cheek and rejected those urges, having the gnawing feeling that nothing he said at that point would have any significance. The bones moved away, body all but decomposing in order to reveal something unexpected to the Jiongu. While he initially had no intention of taking the heart of a clone, the lack of hostile intent gave him the idea that it had some sort of deeper meaning. Another thing out of my understanding. This is annoying. Rather than tear apart his sleeve and unleash a massive amount of tendrils, a mere few slid out from beneath the sleeve out of a dark sigil, reaching out for the clone of Inka.
Those black tendrils coiled around the sticky, green-tinted heart while also taking hold of the strange emblem it rested near. Heavier than I expected. What could this be? A few more tendrils were sent out to compensate for the weight, pulling them as gently as he could from their source, ignoring the gleeful shifting of the tendrils within his frame. It was hard to deny even his own excitement. Hearts were a source of strength and vitality, they opened up new realms of possibility for him. "Thank you." He said, barely above a whisper. When the heart made contact with the palm of his hand, it took on a pure chakra form and bled through his gauntlet, through his flesh and into the chakra parasite within him. He connected to it once its chakra entwined with his own, triggering a seamless transition. Red bled into his normally black hair, not completely overcoming it but making itself present while his eyes turned a sickly green-yellow shade that represented the Sero's corruption. "Ngh...what?" Another whisper, that time in reaction to the strange feelings within him. The reaction to his Raiton heart was a large increase in energy, localized numbness, and the occasional muscle spasm. With the green one, it was...odd, like something had directly touched him. It was accompanied by familiar feelings, although they were fleeting. Loneliness. Guilt. Confliction. He had a history of being plagued by such things, though he had gotten rid of it all for the most part. That's what made the sudden burst so noticeable. Is that Inka? Or something else?
Just as he thought of the man, his voice was heard once more. "Leave me behind....forget me.....safer.... That was right, there were two others and they had been ignored. That can't be good. I still have questions, but I know that there's more to be had from these things. it's more important than we know. He was going to alert Kagerou, but it seemed she had already caught on. Miyuki, on the other hand, was well on the way to leaving. It looks well on the way to collapsing and I can't let that happen...she looks shaken. His suspicions were confirmed when the green-haired Kunoichi called out, only for the pinkette to not respond. Was it just not processed? Can't waste time testing that. Takeda's legs moved faster than his thoughts, already making his way over. Early on he crouched low to the ground, laying his weapon on the floor and placing the heavy emblem on top, knowing he didn't have a place to put either of them with his scabbard ripped.
His right hand reached out for her forearm, leaning over to grab it comfortably and not yank in the process. "Hey. Miyuki, are you okay?" The change to his hair may have been subtle, but it wouldn't surprise him if she noticed the difference in his eyes easily. If she turned to face him, he'd move that hand up to her shoulder along with his other to her opposite one. He didn't tower over her since he was probably no more than five inches taller, but it was enough that he could comfortably look down at her and probably eclipse the view of the Sero behind him. "I know she told you to leave a second ago, but it's really important that you stay. Inka, umm...bloomed when I talked to him, I let him know exactly how I felt in response to his words. I might be just jumping to conclusions, but I think it'd be a big help if you just replied to what he said to you. I was too distracted to hear what that was exactly, but you have Kagerou and me to help with whatever you need." He didn't initially intend to hold onto her for so long, but he quickly figured that it was for the best. He didn't know why, but she was affected by something. To touch her...maybe it would keep her grounded? Pulled from her thoughts? It's all just speculation, but in this scenario...what isn't?
"Nothing's going to hurt you as long as we're around, so do you think you can give it a shot? It's okay if you don't know what to say. Even asking this version of Inka a question might help. We might even be too late, but you never know, right?" Comforting others wasn't his strong suit, but he did offer a small, albeit sincere smile.

Miyuki hadn't got far before Kagerou called for her to stop, that she had been wrong about something, but it hardly registered to the rose-haired girl's panicked mind. If it meant getting away from the corrupted Sero tree, then by all means she would pretend she hadn't heard anything. The Mizukage, the village, and the people in it; she was disconnected from all of them them moment she woke up, when she couldn't remember anything but a handful of hazy memories. I should have just stayed in Takumi, she thought again. Far away from that thing...
And then someone grabbed her wrist, stopping her in her tracks. The touch was firm, but gentle, regardless of how her mind wanted to process it. She was turned around to face Takeda, and his hands moved up to her shoulders, trying to ground her. He wasn't really holding her; she could break free if she wanted to. Why was he being so gentle? He didn't seem the type to make such a bold action. But then, why wouldn't he be gentle? He wasn't trying to restrain her. She hadn't done anything wrong. Not like then. He tried explaining carefully what had happened, the revoking of Kagerou's instructions, the Inka clones, she had to speak to it. And say what? She cast a wide-eyed glance over his shoulder toward the somehow wilting Mizukage as Takeda continued. He promised security. Ask questions. It might not even work, but you never know, right?
Her magenta gaze shifted back to his face. His eyes were... different. Weren't they blue before? Or had she just imagined that? Now they held an almost sickly olive tone. Miyuki felt her tendrils bunch under his hands. His proximity was reaching through her panic about the tree and instead about the pressure on her shoulders. Don't do it. She felt her tendrils push his hands up and away from her--unfortunately having no concern for her clothing and leaving holes where they cam through her shoulders. But at least they didn't stab him, right? Not like they wanted. She was in control, not them. "Sorry..." she muttered for the umpteenth time that day, dropping her eyes away from his. "I'm fine now." Or as fine as she could be. Emotions still raced a thousand miles an hour. Releasing his wrists, she took a step back and, the tendrils retreating back into her body, she moved around him, back toward the twin Mizukage and Kagerou.
The tree isn't going anywhere. But that doesn't mean it won't spread. Everyone was in grave danger. No one should have to face that again. Stop.
Miyuki drew to a halt in her original spot before the Inka clone. But what was she supposed to say to it? It had no interest in her and she had no interest in it. A mutual understanding, in a way, that maybe neither invested enough time in worrying about something. He shouldn't act so aloof toward those under him. She should care more about the village and its inhabitants. But what was the point? In the large picture she was nothing, a speck in a world full of disasters. Maybe that's why she was as chaotic, as scatter-brained, as air-headed as she was. How did that connect with the Mizukage standing before her?
"To be fair," she said finally. "I don't know me either. And I don't know you. I don't know what's going on and I don't understand it." She glanced away uncertainly. "But if you're supposed to represent apathy, maybe this is trying to tell you to take a more active role among your shinobi." She shifted, wrapping her arms around herself and letting her cloak spill over her front. "Before the former Mizukage... disappeared, he noticed everyone. Could name everyone. Even... me. As insignificant as that is." Her eyes scanned the clone for some sort of reaction. "Anyway, this was all regardless of my...situation, as you put it. That has nothing to do with this... thing that you are."

Syrup in it consistancy, it drips from a sharp jawline in long, silken lines and heavy-landing blobs. "... maybe this is trying to tell you to take a more active role among your shinobi." Kagerou blinked at her Inka as it made no reaction, not even a physical one. Was it because she had said nothing for it to react to? Miyuki's on the other hand, responded, quite garishly, too. A crunching sound attracted Kagerou's eyes to Miyuki's Inka just as its neck... dropped in a way that could neither be healthy or natural. A spray of ooze accompanied the sickening change, but unfazed by that, Kagerou had already started to run over to the other Inka. Hopefully, her Inka would remain intact until she returned... hopefully.
Respecting what felt like unwritten rules that each Inka was meant for one individual, Kagerou stopped just short of really getting close to either Miyuki's Inka or Miyuki. That respect didn't last for long, though. As soon as the Inka's cheeks started to hollow, Kagerou glanced at Miyuki and understood that she wouldn't be interfering in anything. Then Kagerou tried to briefly make eye contact with Takeda. Without words, she besought him to protect Miyuki, though she didn't say it aloud for fear of causing undue panic in the sensitive pink-haired kunoichi. It wasn't that she didn't think he was going to protect Miyuki. After all, he wasn't one to go back on his words. It was just a reminder to make sure Miyuki was priority, but well, it was only a momentary gaze. Only so much could be said through one such look. After trying to get all of that through, Kagerou stepped up to the Inka that wasn't her own.
What would Kagerou do now? Ah, who knew? Kagerou didn't. Time to wing it.
It started with just the ringing of bells and gently cupping Inka's cheeks within her hands, paying no heed to whatever mysterious goo ran across her fingers. Trying to somewhat fix the Inka, if that was at all possible, Kagerou tested the waters by ringing a technique into life, Chiyute No Jutsu: Karui [ Healing Hands Technique: Minor ], with the sound created by her hands reaching up to Inka's cheeks. Would this do anything? Haha. She didn't know, but that was why she started with something so low level. Two balls of healing chakra appeared beneath Kagerou's hands, attempting to do some good for the hollowing cheeks. Another appeared upon the Inka's neck, testing the waters to see if any sort of healing could be seen to be done upon the neck that was being gently pulled back up. Under her gentle touch, she could feel that, misshapen as the flesh was, it still felt like flesh. She didn't dare put any more pressure on it, though, for fear that it would cause the already caving in cheeks to cave in further. Although, that also meant that she couldn't pull the neck up with much force.
Eye-to-eye, Kagerou stared into the weeping socket(s) of this Inka. Their heights were nearly identical, and a stray thought asked, . As for what Kagerou said, it started with a very small, "Danger..." Just a repeat of what the Inka-lone had said. The crimson eyes of the Uchiha trained onto holes of blood and, if she could turn it in her direction, gold until a sound came from below. Kagerou glanced down as tendrils of something split the ground. She gulped, but otherwise looked back up and held her ground. Red returned to look into red and gold.
Maintaining that confident, or at least she hoped it was confident, eye contact, Kagerou continued, "Inka-sama, you are not a danger to the village." They weren't just empty words. She remembered at least one time where he had protected her and everyone else in that small office. She was going to show that time to him but from his own perspective.
As an excuse to move, Kagerou's right hand moved from the cheek to further up the face, wiping away the stream of liquid from one eye and then from the other. Using the ringing that accompanied the movement, Kagerou performed Shinteki Ijutsu [ Mental Medicine ] to open that memory from the not so distant past. Hand placed on Inka's forehead to help Kagerou grasp onto the immaterial moment, she concentrated on having Inka remember just the memory she needed. Whether or not it worked she didn't know, so she narrated what she wanted him to know, "I hope I did this right... There was a lot of... unpleasantness that night, Inka-sama, but I remember, seeing in the corner of my vision, the advisor back then, you, grasping tightly to a small body, protecting him it would seem. What had happened, was happening, or even what was said, I don't remember. I was too focused on my task, but I do remember that the next thing you did after relinquishing protection of that small body was to pull the rest of us together to make sure we could protect our weakest. You are no danger. You are most definitely not a failure. You made sure we were as safe as we could be under those circumstances. You are a protector, so the danger... must be something else... Can you tell us what it is?". Hopefully, even if the technique hadn't worked, then Kagerou's words alone would jog Inka's memories enough for him to remember what she was talking about.
Breaking her words with a long breath in and then out, Kagerou decided that she wasn't done. Not yet. Even if this Inka looked like he wasn't listening to her at all, she was going to continue. A smile, pinched and small but still trying to shine as strongly as it could, accompanied what Kagerou had to say next, "And even if you truly are the danger, then please Inka-sama, I have just one request. Apathy is a terrible thing to have. I still believe that the last thing you want is to harm your own men and women, so don't just stand there and accept it if you become the danger. Fight whatever is changing you, and if you can't win alone, then just endure for as long as possible. We'll be right up there to save our princess from her leafy tower prison in no time." Ideally, Kagerou would have ended with a laugh, but as it was, smiling and trying to make light of the situation was taking all she had in the acting department.

The apathetic Inka immediately turned to self pity at Miyuki's words, and the strange clone wilted further, his head hanging as if he couldn't support it. Vile liquid oozed from him, plopping on the ground around him, and Miyuki's face wrinkled in disgust. She was angry, despite knowing it was probably the tree that cause this. Knowing that each of the clones seemed to reflect something of Inka. But why should she care? This man that claimed to be the Mizukage that was literally falling apart in front of her meant little to her. While she was not opposed to protecting the village because it was her home, she had no interest in a man who was only seeking pity. It infuriated her that he was self-centered enough to believe, even if amplified through this reflection of him, that he was the sole cause of the issues the village faced. No, it was the damned tree. They should have gone far away from it to reestablish a village, not live on the thing that tried to kill them.
It took all of her focus not to run him through with her tendrils, tear out whatever corrupted heart might be in the man's chest. Maybe then the creature living inside if her would be satiated for a while. She felt them writhing underneath her flesh.
And she may have actually attacked him if it weren't for Kagerou stepping in the way. She cupped Inka's face and her hands glowed with chakra, perhaps in an attempt to heal him. Miyuki wasn't convinced it would work, but she took a step back and waited, listening. He wasn't a danger to the village. She didn't agree with that; this weakness he displayed was a danger. He was a protector, not a danger. It had to be something else. They were going to save him, he just had to hold on. By 'they' Miyuki assumed the three of them. Kagerou wanted her to go up there despite the oscillating chakra that made her more para noid with each pulse? Despite the pods that engulfed the villagers around them and took them to gods only knew where?
Miyuki was convinced Kagerou was wasting her time. But she was willing to wait and watch, and see what happened in response.
[･･･] The clone, crumpled at the neck, and shoulders drooping inhumanely low, didn't react to the gentle chime of bells ringing, not its cheeks being cupped. One eye socket, leeking coagulating red gunk, remained sightless and ignorent of the woman before it. At your first, soft spoken word, nothing apparently changed - but a few feet away, with the skin of its jaw hanging low and trapped in the unidetifiable, honey-coloured, ooze of one eye socket, the other shivered. A small sound of rubber ripping, and more skin was pulled down under the weight of the sap - peeling like a fruit skin from the flesh of its neck, revealing green tendrils where arteries might have been and the slimy membrane that once kept the skin attached.
The activation of Mental Medicine coincided with a shift in the canopy above, a ripple that resonated from the top of Sero's trunk, where the highest level offices were located...
You keep speaking, and at first it appears nothing is getting through - a sickening crunch, like dead branches breaking but filled with the thick, juicy bodies of grubs now mangled and burst, erupts from a few feet away, at the imitation left alone, the skin peeling down its neck. It shudders, turns its head - he gazes at you, unblinking, seeping. "Do you..." And the material of the black robe covering the chest clings inwards, heavy and wet. "See me?" It stumbles forward a step, and its arms move.
"Take it, quickly." It says - but the voice is different, as though coming from a fog previously, Inka speaks clearly now. "Just let me," The hands lay themselves on his chest, grip deep, wet bark breaking. "Keep protecting you?" The knees buckle - legs splintering open and becoming roots digging deep into the stone. "Even from myself." Crumbling down and inward like a tree felled from the inside by termites, his hips hit the ground as the robes spill down and melt, the black taking an oil-like quality as a prism of colours refracted off its melted surface. "Quickly." With the fabric having melted away, it revealed the sight of the tanned skin - and a smashed-in breast bone. A small, sad, smile and the fingers push aside the dissolving flesh to grip the sternum with a squelch. Prying apart the brittle bone revealed it to be more akin to paper mache - and a strange sight within. A heart that seemed to slow with every pulse, veined and tinted green, was held aloft a strange, metal object, its sheen and hue lost while in the depth of the moist, slime-dripping cavern.
Without any further aid, his body continues to split open, revealing how the innards more resemble a dissected stem; from the colour to the lack of most neccesary organs - or perhaps they had already been repurposed as the robe has been, now amber and blooming as petals florishing from the central pad of the melting upper torso. The heart, ready to be taken, has near stopped by the time the ribs fold open on their own. They splinter, replicate, and become fillaments, holding aloft the pollen-releasing nub of the amber flower - by which point the chest cavity, and all the contents withing, is gone, abosorbed into the base anchoring the petals to a central point.
What was once appearing human is now a glowing lotus nestled neatly down on the stonework - sheens of honey and blood refract over the silk petals - like forever dusk and dawn incarnate. You find it to be a gentle lightsource, with its thick, green roots travelling over the stone to dip deep into the chakra-rich waters of the village lake.

As the ripple expanded through the Sero's canopy, Kagerou could feel it, but she did not avert her focus from the Inka in front of her. Quickly, just everything needed to be done quickly, but also carefully because not only was this operation delicate but it was also dealing with, quite possibly, the psyche of another.
Even as her Inka started to crunch disgustingly, Kagerou continued to talk and carefully observe for any signs of life in the Miyuki's unreacting clone. One at a time.
It was only when the other Inka started to speak with her that Kagerou glanced in its direction. She glanced and saw the black robe clinging to his chest. "See... you?" Kagerou asks, slightly dumbfounded. She peeks back at the Inka she is touching. No reaction. she concludes not very confidently. Worry clouds her eyes as the Inka, her Inka, steps forwards.
Again, she looks over at her Inka, just in time to see its arms reach for its chest. For a brief moment, Kagerou remembers in advance what Takeda's Inka turned into. Her hands leave the face of Miyuki's Inka. The moving Inka's hands touch its chest. "W-" Kagerou tries to get the words out of her mouth in time, but they are slowed by hesitation on her own part, but the idea of ripping open one's chest being "natural" was such a hard idea to swallow. The Inka's fingers dig into the chest, far too deep to be normal, natural. Kagerou's word finally comes out, "Wait!" just as the Inka falls and its body begins to transform. The silent complaint, rings somewhere in an unused corner of Kagerou's head.
Seeing a body fall to pieces that are not human and that sad smile... Of course Kagerou rushed over without a second thought. she questioned herself as she halted to a stop in front of the plantifying Inka. Healing techniques had already proven ineffective. No, even if they were, this was ultimately the natural course of things... right? Most likely? Again, seeing a body fall apart hardly seemed like anything even remotely "right."
The chest, unlocked and open wide for Kagerou, gapes at its dumbfounded recipient, who gapes back she tries to mentally process the process. For a moment, the entire process seems to pause, to stop. She gets a good look into the cavernous hollow. The heart, steadily slowing down, and some strange metal within. The glimmer, though dulled, attracts Kagerou's attention, and she reaches in to pull out the large metal shard. It takes her some doing to dislodge the curious object, which looks like it would have belonged to something the size of her own head, and the force of pulling it out causes Kagerou to stumble back a little.
Having retrieved this "prize," Kagerou spends a moment to examine it. Yes, it was certainly a curiosity, but she was not given much time to admire or decipher the craftsmanship.
A small, splintering sound signals that the ribs, which had paused in their opening for a mere second, had started to expand even wider. Kagerou's head snaps up as she watches the now barely beating heart nestled within the slowly deteriorating cavity. the idea strikes her a little too late, It was the only organ within the body. There could be some importance to it in these events, whether in use or to study afterwards to understand the full... weirdness that was the Sero. How to keep it, though? That was the question.
Kagerou, ready to wing it, starts to step forward. Although... Would she really reach the heart in time? If certain tendrils interrupted her now, she wouldn't stop them...

Miyuki's Inka didn't even twitch in response to Kagerou's kind words to it.
Instead, the one that had insulted her seemed to fall further apart as it stumbled toward her. It grasped its chest, digging fingers through fabric and flesh, begging to let it keep protecting them. The fabric melted away, exposing bone, and the Inka clone tore away even that to reveal a heart. Miyuki's eyes trained on that, and again the tendrils writhed, several creeping out from her hands and wrists, though this was hidden by her cloak. The heart, colored green like the tree it represented was slowing with each beat. Don't. That thing is corrupted. It's sick. The tendrils didn't seem interested in listening. After all, they thrived off of the Sero's corrupted chakra. And they hadn't experienced that chakra in months. They desired it, whether Miyuki wanted the heart or not. It wasn't even a matter of whether or not she wanted it; she simply didn't want to lose control again. But if not losing control meant taking it, even if it wasn't rightfully hers, then she wouldn't stop it.
Each second that past, what was a copy of Inka fell further apart, less recognizable, and the heart slowed even further.
Miyuki watched as Kagerou reached into the chest cavity and for a moment though that the chuunin was going to take the heart instead. That would be for the best, after all, so long as Miyuki could dissuade the thing living inside of her not to attack Kagerou. She liked the green-haired kunoichi. Not that she was hard to please, but she didn't want to see harm befall a friend. However, instead of grasping the heart, she pulled something from beneath it. A shard of metal of some sort. Leaving the heart behind to examine the object, Kagerou's attention was diverted from the heart briefly.
That's when Miyuki took her chance, letting her tendrils loose. They reached past Kagerou and wrapped gently around the heart, infused with chakra so as to preserve it and, hopefully, stop the organ from dying altogether. Assuming nothing went wrong with the extraction, the tendrils pulled themselves back into her body along with the heart, vanishing as if they never existed in the first place.
In the meanwhile, the rose-haired girl turned her attention to the unmoving Inka clone. Right, if being nice to it didn't work, then it was her turn to lay into it. "If there's one thing I hate," she started softly. "It's a person who has the audacity to insult me or my friends, and then try to guilt me into pity. Regardless of whether or not that's your intention, it's what you're doing." Miyuki swarmed with tendrils again, poised as to strike though they didn't move forward. "If I care about you, it's only because you're a member of this village. Besides that, I don't know you. Why should I even be talking you, hm?" She took a couple of steps toward the Inka clone, the air about her a contrast to the bubbly and air-headed nature she'd shown the other two on the trip back to the village. Instead, despite the panic from a moment before, she had an aura of confidence and, in a way arrogance. The panic of course was still there; she didn't want to be anywhere near the tree during... whatever this was that was happening. But if Inka was the key to making it stop, then for the sake of the people that lived in the village, she would remain. But no one would like the words she had to say. "Kagerou thinks you're not a danger to the village. I disagree. You let yourself be captured by that... thing that we call a home. You're weak, pathetic. You want to protect your village, then pull yourself together and do so. You are better than this." The tendrils relaxed although they didn't retreat. "And if you can't do it, then let someone who can take your place. But you were picked to be Mizukage for a reason. You are better than you know."

Kagerou wasn't going to stop the tendrils, but that didn't mean that she wasn't going to twirl around and, in the most exasperated voice she could muster, start saying, "Taquito!" the new nickname added to her Takeddy Bear arsenal. Except, when she turned, she found that the tendrils reaching past her didn't belong to "Taquito," but to the new girl instead, Miyuki. Almost immediately, she apologized, "Oh shoot. Sorry Takeddy- I mean Taquida. Tasquida?". Close enough. Kagerou actually wasn't even sure anymore. She wasn't even sure what she would have scolded Takeda about. That she had wanted the heart even though she had no idea how to transport it? No, not even an idea. The idea of ripping it out had bothered her from the beginning, it was why she had ignored it initially.
Kagerou sighed and rubbed her head in the universal gesture of, "I don't even know anymore," as Miyuki started to speak to her Inka. It surprised the medic, enough to make her lose her usual stable mental footing, but at the same time, part of her felt like it made sense that Miyuki had the same tendrils that Takeda. The two had similarly darkened eyes, after all. There really wasn't a reason to just accept it as it was. Maybe it was just seeing the heart ripped out of the chest and taken into another's that had tilted her. It always was one thing to say she understood what was necessary and another to see it in action, after all.
After giving the fully transformed Inka, now a beautiful orange lotus, a lingering last look, Kagerou walked her way over to stand besides Takeda, slipping the metal shard into one pocket and pulling out the mysterious weight in her other pocket. Whatever mixed feelings she may have had upon the reminder that Takeda and Miyuki both had a power that grew with the death of others, Kagerou was determined to not let it get in the way of whatever she thought about the two of them. Trusting her ears to catch any sounds of disturbance, she let her eyes wander down to the mystery-flavored sweet. Twirling the candy in her fingers, she had half a mind to pop it into her mouth. However, before that, she wagged it in front of Takeda's eyes and asked, "Did you also get one?". As lightly as her question had been asked with that playful wave of the candy, it didn't show in either her face or gaze. Her lips were set straight and her eyes had returned to carefully watching Miyuki go on her little tirade. It seemed like Kagerou wasn't sure herself how she wanted to be. Happily light in spite of the gravity of the situation or focused because of the gravity of the situation and Miyuki's position right in front of a possible threat?
Regardless, she was always observant. Kagerou noticed with a tilt of her head. The personality shift Miyuki seemed to display was much more interesting to her than the blistering stream of criticisms directed to the apathetic Inka. This sort of attack wasn't something she would have expected at all from the Miyuki of a few moments ago.

Can perform D rank techniques through instrument at gennin, C at Chunnin, B at jounin, A at Konin, and S at Sannin.
• Learn Medical techniques one (1) post faster.
• Learn ninjutsu (1) post faster.
• Learn genjutsu one (1) post faster.
• Miracle Performance - Kagerou can perform healing eiseijutsu through her performance/instrument as if it was ninjutsu of the same rank. When performing healing medical techniques, she can target anyone who can hear her music with the jutsu. I.e. she no longer has to be within touch range of the target to use healing hands.
• Calamity Performance - Kagerou can perform offensive eiseijutsu through her performance/instrument as if it was ninjutsu of the same rank. When performing offensive medical techniques, she can target anyone who can hear her music with the jutsu. I.e. she no longer has to be within touch range of the target to use killing hands. Harmful eiseijutsu cast in this manner is guaranteed to hit as long as the condition of sound is met, but it takes one post to manifest its effects. In that time, the technique can be nullified by matching the energy (chakra/stamina/whatever else) cost Kagerou paid to use the entire jutsu, including any extra costs for additions/modifications. Those afflicted by harmful eiseijutsu cast in this manner become aware that if they do not spend the required amount of chakra/stamina, then bad things will happen to their body. The target(s) will have a vague sense of how bad the damage will be, but do not know what exactly will happen.
• Dream Audience - Kagerou's dream is to help as many as she could. From this desire, the dream world manifested the power to multiply the recipients of all of her eiseijutsu techniques. With neither extra effort nor decrease in power, Kagerou can affect two extra targets for each eiseijutsu activation as long as they fulfill the requirements to be a target (i.e. contact for most eiseijutsu by default or sound when Kagerou performs eiseijutsu). Past the starting two, she must spend a total of 5(n-3)+10 energy split evenly between chakra and stamina for each additional target; n = number of targets. Odd energy costs are split with 1 more point of stamina than chakra. This additional cost cannot be reduced or refunded.

"I disagree."CRACK And its chest suddenly implodes inwards - what ribs that were there most assuradly shattering in such a volatile way to pierce and rupture what organs would be there - and there was a sound of metal scrapping.
"Better...?" It echoes to the void - the void of its own mind or the the sky lost above the canopy, you couldn't say. "Better... who? How am I better?" It quakes, and a sound of tearing rubber could be heared before on of its arms drops out of its sleeve - then suddenly jerks to a stop right as the elbow peeks out from the cuff where the wrist should be instead. It swings, loose, like on a chord. A green-tinted goo oozes down the arm, and the sleeve of the black robe sticks in, almost to the chest with only a thin, rope-like length where the arm used to be sitting. "How...? What do I have that marks me from them? Weak. Pathetic..."

Evidently, for the moment anyway, the heart Miyuki had stolen did nothing. Oh well. A heart was a heart, and if it meant satiating her tendrils for a while, then she wasn't going to complain. Aside from the fact she had yet more of the tree's chakra in her.
Miyuki lost interest in trying to help the Inka clone as it responded to her, falling apart further and wallowing in its own self pity. In fact, she was half tempted to help it and finish it off. But that would accomplish nothing. The other two with her didn't even seem interested in Inka's plight, or at least not this one. Of course, interacting with it had done little, so she didn't blame them. "Alrighty, then~ That gives me my answer. I can waste words on you all day but it does no good if you won't hear them." Turning on her heels, she clapped them together sharply as she faced Kagerou. She wasn't certain the girl was a chuunin, but in her mind she was, given her Inka's response to her, but at the very least she was much more experienced than Miyuki. "As far as I'm concerned, you're in charge here. What are your orders?" To no one in particular, except the clone now behind her, she added, "Or do I have to keep moving on to the next and next person until someone steps up to the plate? The villagers are being taken by that disgusting thing we call a home, and I feel right now that's more of a concern than a man who just wants to wallow in self hatred."

"Ewww..." Kagerou involuntarily muttered as the plant Inka further disfigured itself. If even she had reached this point, then she had to acknowledge that talk was... regrettably, not going to solve this Inka. However, the sound of metal had caught in Kagerou's ears. She also had a piece of metal from her Inka. She wouldn't be surprised if Takeda did either.
To Kagerou's surprise, Miyuki turned to her expecting orders. This really couldn't be the same girl as before, right? Something just felt really different. It didn't help that Kagerou wasn't quite done thinking yet. No, more accurately, mustering the resolve to decide one way or another. She just wanted Miyuki to keep on trying. She really did. After all, these Inkas were the key to whatever was happening with the Sero. Probably. Most likely. Okay, it was just a gut feeling more than anything.
However, if Kagerou had to be honest with herself, then there probably was another way than trying to talk sense into an Inka that would listen to no one else but someone who gave up. It just didn't settle well with her because of, again, a different gut feeling that these Inkas were connected with the real Inka. If they were to hurt Inka-lone, then what would happen to the real Mizukage? Also, Kagerou just didn't... like... hurting people or even things... It was difficult to explain in this sort of situation.
"You've..." Kagerou hesitated at first, and upon discovering that hesitation, she intentionally let the answer trail off into silence. That way, she could start anew, except then she changed her mind, as so many situations that are winged go. Before giving any orders out first, she was going to get some hands-on experience. Literally. Takeda or even Miyuki were no doubt better suited for this sort of job but... Kagerou was no hypocrite.
"Wait just one moment," Kagerou let Miyuki know that she did intend to give some sort of directions. No, orders. Since she had ranked up, she would need to start getting used to that. Just in case, she added, "And please cover me if anything goes awry."
Walking around Miyuki, Kagerou cautiously approached the Inka once more. Before, it was try to talk. Now, it was going to be the very opposite. It was an opposite that Kagerou really, really didn't want to do, but that was exactly why she was doing it. If she thought it was wrong, then she couldn't bring herself to tell someone else to do something she didn't want to.

As long as nothing happened to Kagerou as she approached and no signs of hostility or danger were displayed from the Plant Inka, Kagerou was quick to stab her left hand into the caved-in chest, aiming for the space in the chest where her Inka had his metal shard. All she wanted was that metal shard. Although, as she hadn't used a technique, it wasn't even guaranteed of she would even pierce the chest. She was kind of relying on it looking as soft as it had appeared at first.
Kagerou's face, throughout the whole process, spoke for itself. She did not like any of this one bit, not what she was touching, not the risks of the situation, and definitely not what she was doing. Even elbow-deep in plant Inka mush, Kagerou would be wondering if this really was the only thing that could be done. If it wasn't, then she would be so happy to find out.

She had taken only a few steps to the entrance of the Sero when the vines started to ensnare their first prey. The panicked murmur, for a brief minute, turned into screams of fear, and then all was silenced, as quiet as that day of nightmares. Once again, only a select few were chosen to proceed to a solution. The select being those given pods to direct them. Kagerou, meanwhile, was frozen, unsure in which direction to go. Rush towards those who had just been captured and undergoing who knows what danger? Rush back to the Inkas who now had taken center stage as the most likely keys, a promotion from possible keys, to this situation?
