Maybe someone else would have thought that they wouldn't have done as well as they did but they had done it (though Wil was definitely the most battle scarred). "Do you think there's someone that we can just ... meet in the Court and ask for directions to Silk?"

Nasir wasn't sure but he thought that would be the case. He was carrying the frame they had created, arms wrapped protectively around it. They had just made it to the Court, though it had taken a little while and wanting to find it since it wasn't in a particular place.

"I cannot imagine it to would be particularly difficult to find her," Shun murmured as he looked around, "If not, surely some fetch around here or something would know where to find her."

It had taken a bit of work, but they had a frame of sorts. He just hoped it would be sufficient for the spell when the time came.

"Oi. Silk," he called out, "We have something for you."

Wil had his hands in his pockets and had worn sleeves today since they were going somewhere fancy.

"Yea we can always find one of those um.." Zombies, "Fetches." Coming and going from other ashdown wasn't exactly his specialty so all this walking was already wearing on the lazy blonde.

When Shun called out, Wil leaned to Nasir and murmured softly, "This place is kinda creepy without a party happening in it..."

"I'm not your dog," said Silk. (Where the s**t had she come from.) She gave the three men a look like they were something she'd found on the bottom of her shoe. Apparently, calling the Court creepy was just as bad as calling for her like she was some kind of pet.

"Don't call for her lik-" Not that it mattered because Shun was already doing it and Wil was saying the place was creepy and maybe he should've told them that it was not a good idea to be disrespectful of the Court or Silk in such a way.

He took a step forward, arms wrapped around the ornate frame they had made. A breath was taken, so that he did not stumble through the words. "We wanted to find you and to deliver this frame to your safekeeping until it's time." Nasir held it out to her. It was a cube, made from wood (both honey locust and cedar had been used) that had inlays from the wire they had used and stones along each side (amethyst and quartz) in intricate designs along each face.

Oh. There was Silk. Shun turned towards her, nodding curtly. Since Nasir was speaking, he let him present the box while he stood by, watching.

Wil probably didn't realize he'd said anything wrong. He let Nasir handle the turning over part, instead his eyes roamed the area. As creepy as he found it, it was still pretty, and he was always looking for some artistic inspiration.

Silk didn't take it. She crossed her arms over her chest. "And why do you think it will work?"

Nasir faltered but stood anyway, the frame cradled to his chest again. "We tested it extensively, to make sure that it was capable of withstanding strong magical focus." There was no one present without bandaged hands.

He glanced towards both Shun and Wil and back to Silk. "... all of us."

Shun lifted his head at Silk, then nodded.

"It should be able to hold whatever spell is cast to form the Charter."

"Went through a lot of tests and prototypes too.. Different materials and magical effects.." Wil looked at his own hands, bandaged well from all the splinters of wood and stone. He wouldn't be painting for a little while.

He hovered close behind Nasir, shoulders brushing so his boyfriend knew he was here too, for support. He didn't want him feeling bad about what they'd created just because Silk and they got off on the wrong foot.

"And what spell work did you test it with?" Silk arched an eyebrow. "Did the three of you test it together? Why have you chosen honey locust, a wood used for beauty spells?" Silk was definitely irritated at them, because while she'd been acerbic at the conference, she hadn't been snappy like she was now. "It's very pretty, but you're proposing this to replace a living being. It has to be more than pretty."

Nasir flinched but stood firm. After all, he was the only one who had seen Silk at the conference and this was nothing like that. "It is more than pretty," he replied. His tone was still respectful even if she was snappy. "It isn't just honey locust- there's other wood involved." A breath.

"... and, yes, honey locust is used in beauty spells but that's because people don't always look at it's other potential- protection and binding. The honey locust wood helps bind this all together and strengthens the other elements used. It also help creates a stable framework that is capable of holding and filtering." They had worked hard on this. "Other things broke but this one did not, instead it withstood and took the shape you see now."

Shun drew in a deep breath, not flinching from the way Silk was responding to their work.

"A brief time stop type spell was used with it. Not only that, but Nasir here, was able to alter the interior spacial capacity of the box by... a large amount. It did not crack or shatter under the weight of the magic used," he explained, keeping an even and neutral tone.

Wil was used to having his work scrutinized. He was an art student. To say he'd been torn apart many times in the past was not an exaggeration.

"We focused on feminine and effeminate woods.." He explained, "And there are inlays of other things as well, all magically bonded and specific to our purpose." Cherry wood amplified spellwork and was connected to animals and familiars, birch was a powerful focus and a purged old magic well while also being connected to lunar cycles, cedar was also cleansing of negative energy and good for protection and preservation. They had done their work and tried to include the goal and the people involved in their choices.

The blonde shook his curls from his eyes and smiled, "Besides having a beautiful female essence should be beneficial... Like Lady Melany."
