Sonja has had to live much of her life on the mean streets of an unforgiving city. She lives making herself stronger and, deep, deep down, wanting to make life for others around her better so they don't have to live the life she had to. So they don't have to steal to eat the next day or settle for hand-outs.
This is one of the few places Li can sympathize with her on. For all her crude humor and loud bravado, she has the underlying crust of someone who knows tactics well enough to keep herself and others alive. Li is more than a little unsure of his predicament in being Sonja's weapon but can't help in feeling a strong sense of purpose with the Hunter. He will chide her from time to time and can even be down-right cruel but Sonja brushes it off.
He knows if not for the stern advise he often gives, she would have 'bit the dust' long ago.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
The wisps of shadows that plagued the city around ever turn and corner were nothing new. Sonja would stare them down and make her own noises back at them.
The older she became, the more she knew the growling and snarling weren't going to work anymore. They were growing in number and it was starting to break the heavy wall she had built over the years. She had kept herself safe behind it but not for long...
Much of 'her part' of the city had been kept reasonable safe, at least to her knowledge. Til she had gotten word of an eminent presence that was slowly threatening the borders of her 'territory'. It had opened an entirely new can of worms. Sonja had thought most of the city to be fine. In a general sense, at least. Recruiters of some sort of organization had offered forth information of those close to her and had warned of something coming... Something that would threaten the small number of people she had held close to her. That had stuck to her side like glue.
It didn't take her long to make up her mind. 'Where do I sign up?'
After all, this was her home. And she wasn't about to give it up to some spooks!
