Score! You found the receptionist's desk filled with free lollipops. They look like eyeballs on sticks though...

Makkah was freaking out at the thought of getting in trouble with Austri. Fleeing the scene, she made a mad dash for the next available building, cutting clear across the foggy ground. Was this fog real or fake?

The door chimed as she opened it, a hollow sound cascading down the partially lit hallways. By all accounts, this was the hospital. The highblood took a moment to catch her breath.

”Okay, calm down Makkah, you're ch-chill, just stop goin' postal. It's fine, Austri didn't see you, you can deff still prove you're hardcore, or whatever.”

She paced back and forth in the lobby of the fake hospital, giving herself this pep-talk. Pausing between words, her eyes locked on to the bowl of lollipops resting on the receptionist's desk. A small card next to it read, "Take one! =D"

She grabbed one slowly, prepared for her hand to be grabbed by another hand from the bowl or some other such fright. But instead nothing happened and she pulled free a single lollipop. Unwrapping it, she saw a yellow eyeball slowly tinting red the higher it got. It was glossy and looked wet.

”This...this isn't a real eye. Nuh-Uh. They wouldn't...would they?”

Cautiously, she brought it to her mouth and gave it a tap with her tongue.

”OH GLUB!! GROSS, GROSS, UEGH!!!”

She tossed the lollipop to the ground. It clattered on the floor, the hard lollipop surface cracking on the ground.

”I hate the banana flavored ones!!!”

There's a sea shell. You pick it up to listen to the ocean. It's a recording of one of the heiress's speeches. Not the ocean sounds you were expecting, but it's blood pusher thumper

Makkah decided she needed a boost of confidence, and maybe a scaring buddy. She made a quick dash back to the beach, hoping no one would see her. She picked up the propaganda conch and pointed at it sternly.

”Alright listen up, ya weird shell. I'm lookin' for words of encouragement. Real ego boost material, ya heard? So gimme somethin' good.”

She put her ear to the conch and listened patriotically to the words of the heiress. Thoroughly inspired once again, she made her way back to the haunting areas, her drive shifted back into high gear.

      △ Kerras Farron

Covered in a sheet decorated with leaves and branches, Kerras tiptoed through the hive, accompanied by a small podling. Their lusus slumbered outside, too big to fit through the entryway. His crooked form could be seen hunched over outside, through the hive's dusty windows. Every once in a while, Kerras peered out to check on him, but the treebeast had not moved since they left him. At times like these, they wondered if the treebeast ever got bored.

They entered a block of the hive decorated in medical supplies. Most of the tools were foreign to the tealblood leaving them more puzzled than spooked, but several looked painful enough without knowing their purpose and Kerras hurried past.

Halfway through the hall, a beeping began. Kerras dropped to the ground, sheet fluttering and leaves rustling, Beside them, the podling waddled itself in a circle, searching for potential danger. The beeping continued at a steady rate. After a few seconds, it began to speed up. Kerras glanced up and down the hall. Nothing seemed out of place, aside from the noise. Nonetheless, they scooped up the podling and scampered down the hall. To their great relief the noise stopped as soon as they passed through the door.

“Ah!” Kerras let out a gasp. Waiting on the other side was another troll. The orangeblood had not yet spotted them. Placing the podling on the floor, Kerras motioned for it to be quiet. Then they began to creep towards the boy. The podling thumped ominously behind them. It sounded like a person banging a cane against a floor. At last, Kerras jumped towards the orangeblood waving their arms.

“Ahhhhh!”

1. You spot a giant troll sized nutcracker with something in its mouth. At its feet lies a headless corpse.

In his blind search to get as far away from the hospital as possible, he found himself moving through a door right back into the toystore. Relief hit him as he leaned against the door he'd just shut, though it didn't last for long. The sight of the nutcracker at the end of the hallway with a mouth full of... something, and a headless corpse at its feet set his pusher racing again. He needed to move. Find a way out of this hell hive.

The ominous background noise suddenly skips and cuts to a staticy recording of SHEshell's JROTC song for a minute before switching back. Huh.

Makkah braved the area she thought contained the most challenging obstacles for her: High Class Art. Peeking in, she walked past all of the abstract shapes vaguely resembling the shapes of trolls. Inching past a lewd one that was most definitely made to resemble certain fluid containers, she was stopped not by a scare, but by a sudden switch in the music change. It sounded... like a musical?

Not moving a muscle, the purpleblood listened intently as the song expressed the values of the JROTC.

”Um...Conchshell?...Is that you?...What was that all about?”

There is something wet on the ground and it smells kind of gross. If you lean down to look at it, a vent blows cold air on your neck!

Makkah made her way down a dimly-lit white hallway. A shiver began to form, travelling up the girl's spine. She rubbed her arms and kept going, thinking of her comfortable puffy gold jacket draped of her desk chair back at home.

She heard a gross

-plup!-

sound as her next footfall landed. Looking down, an unknown substance lay in a puddle on the floor. She quickly stepped back from it, scraping her fott against the floor to remove as much of the mystery liquid from it as she could. Inching around it, she couldn't help but notice the smell emanating from it. The dirty, metallic scent filled her nostrils as she knelt down, lead towards it unwillingly by her own bizarre fascination. As she got closer, the hair on her neck stood up, and she quickly reeled back, eyes wide.

”UGH!! Stupid vent!! I've got weird stuff on my shoe now and a bad case of T.H.O., this hallways sucks!!”

Unlike the regal statues of the room before, these just look like a bunch of screaming kids and teens. Wait a minute...didn't the kid that went in before you have those exact same horns?

Okay. Toystore escaped... art gallery found? Deimos wasn't sure what to make of this part of the hive - the statues were giving him the creeps, that was for sure. He squinted at one of them, feeling an eerie sense of familiarity from it. Was it the horns? Yeah...

The realization that they looked exactly like the pair on a troll he'd seen go in before him did not ease his nerves. He rubbed at his face, blinking hard to make sure he wasn't just seeing things - and upon discovering that he wasn't, decided he'd just... spend the next while staring at the ground while he walked.

      Void

A dark shape swooped out of the sky and settled in the Grove Warden's branches. The lusus creaked open one eye to regard the beast before dozing off again. Somewhere a frog croaked.

9. The bust of a seadweller opens its mouth and screams as you walk by

Static didn't exactly know why he kept running into the JROTC group, and especially, Scorpa. Its like there was a curse on them or something. Static decided to ignore that Scorpa was there and just enjoy the haunted house. Sadly, Raijin was also there. Since his failure, the lusus had become even more aggressive and judgemental, which was exactly not what Static wanted when he ran into Scorpa. Luckily he just ran into an intimidating seadweller instead! Oh lucky day... Static stiffened as the fake seadweller screamed. Thank god he didn't flinch or scream, or he would never hear the end of it from Raijin.

Back to the hospital theme. Deimos shuddered with dislike as he maneuvered down the hallway. Was this fake or real blood? Honestly he wouldn't put it past them to use real blood. Well, maybe real blood of the lower castes. Not that he knew for sure but he felt like it might be a little... illegal... to use the blood of high castes in such a way. The sooner he was out of this section, the better.

2. Up ahead sits a bubbling cauldron labeled 'candy' with horns and bones floating in it. If you lean in for a peek, a motorized hand reaches out of the cauldron at you!

.
Static frowned. Of course, here it was, Scorpa's haunted room. Static sneaked a peek at his lusus, praying that the beast wouldn't do anything too much or too loud. He just wanted to get through this thing with some dignity, if that was possible.

The hallways were now brightly colored. Makkah reasoned she'd found her way into an area in the Toy Store section. Her footsteps grew slower as she surveyed her surroundings. A part of her was hoping the furby would show up again.

There were shelves filled with ancient-looking dolls and stickball sticks. As she passed a dark section of the shelves, suddenly something sprung out at her!

Literally, it was attached to a spring. Makkah jumped to the side and thrust her hand into the assailant's face. Her hand was met with a soft round nose that deployed a quiet, demeaning -HONK!- at her touch.

The purpleblood sighed at the trick, angry that it had momentarily gotten the best of her. Steeling her nerves, she took heart in knowing she could see the next jack-in-the-box coming. Taking another step forward, she strode on with the confidence of a clown rainingdownuponherfromtheceiling-!!!!

5. Every step in this room is creaky and the lights are dim. There is an unpredictable thwump every few minutes.

.
Static frowned at the weird noises. He glared at one particularly loud one, and wondered if some troll was indeed just slamming their body against the walls to make a commotion. Static smirked a little imagining Scorpa body-slamming walls for effect.

You walk up the stairs only to see a body, bound and limp, with a bag covering its head and what you can only guess is paint on the front. Is this... real?

Tiny footsteps echoed through the passageways Makkah walked through. At the end of the hallway, a spiral staircase twirled up and to the right, it's end not within her vision. Creeping up the stairs, now lit only by torchlight, she clung to the center pillar as her path wound upwards to the top of what had to be a tower of some sort.

Reaching the apex, she peered over the top step into the room above. Someone sat in a chair on the other side of the room. Walking up, she noticed something was off about this troll. Their arms and legs were tied firmly to the chair they were in. A bag was covering their face, only the feint indentation of a nose and two small horns from the inside of the bag. The bag was also tied furiously to the troll's neck. The body was actually soaked in a thick, foul-smelling fluid. Most of it appeared to emanate from just under the base of the bag, with a deep, dark, soaking stain still oozing from in between the tied rope.

The highblood was shaking now, her feet moving forward slowly but her mind frozen still. She reached the top step and took a single cautious step into the room. Her foot rest slowly, carefully on the floorboard below. Even still, a small creaking sound was produced from the board itself. As she'd been watching her feet intently, she looked up at the person inside to see if they reacted. The stranger sat in the same position, unmoving, but with one key difference: it's head was now held up of it's own volition. Through the position of the nose, she could tell. If its eyes were visible, it would be staring directly at Makkah.

”Nope.”
The girl turned full-tilt away from the stranger and bolted back down the stairs. As her head went lower than the top step she glanced back. The chair was empty.
