Uwah~ So scary. ✰

Rosewater had to refrain herself from making some playfully snide remark back to Moana's snippet as she considered the time and place. While it was the place, it certainly was not the time, especially with how stressed out everypae seemed. She'd hoped to ease the tension with her comment and get a feel for the other's disposition, but that clearly hadn't happened; oh well, win some lose some. "I would think it'd be a bit harder to have it happen down here than on the surface, what with the water and all." Instinctual sass had her wanting to point out that a missing limb wasn't an ailment per say, or at all really, but she held her tongue.

"Okay~"

Humming pleasantly, the capricorn re-positioned herself to have a better grip on the injured naiad, her hands pressing down on his shoulders to get his tail fin to elevate. Hopefully help with the shock. Was that how it worked underwater?

"So, what's your name?"

No point in stressing out. Once the tourniquet was set, either they could go about having a healer seal the wound or have the arm retrieved to see if re-attachment would make any sense. His breathing was stable enough that he'd probably be fine, and if anything dramatic happened, she was there to shock some life back into him. No worries, no worries. That said, it wasn't like she was personally invested in this situation or anything, nor was she aware of where others' interests lay.

-----------------------------------------------

Darkness.

The only thing his hazy consciousness could perceive was an endless abyss in all directions. Where did it begin; where did it end; how long had he been here?

And then, with a sharp cry and physical shaking, he was slowly pulled back to the present.

His head was ringing, vision blurry and doubled. An unbearably sharp noise echoed through his mind as his eye darted around, unfocused, the pain distorting all sound. It was as if someone was speaking to him from far away, their voice muddled by some foreign object. What was--

A deep, sharp pain from his upper abdomen caught his breath and caused Snorri's body to tense, exasperating the pain further. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he was capable of instinctively putting the pieces together. Must be a broken rib. Or two. Maybe three. <******** it hurt.

His fingers twitched slightly at the world came ever so slightly into focus. He was seeing red, waves of it distorting his view. However, he was incapable of realizing that it was blood drifting away in crimson tendrils from the gaping hole on his face. The side that'd been tossed into the wall was far worse for wear due to the tremendous force of the impact: his arm hung limply awkwardly low from a dislocated shoulder, the tendons holding it in place likely torn apart. Obvious bruising and swelling indicated that his clavicle was probably broken, as was the jawbone. The inflammation served to keep the blood supply to his open wounds freshly flowing, blood supply dangerously slow. His abnormally pale complexion and cold skin was enough of an indicator of this.

Honestly, it was a miracle his neck hadn't been irreversibly injured; he'd done well to prevent it.

His eye wandered once more before settling on the red shape before him: the figure, not the drifting background filter. He felt like he should recognize the color, but he was unable to remember what in Alu's Spring it could possibly be related to.

Was it speaking?

His eye drifted downwards to where he was pinned against the wall - oh, so that was why he was held up like this - then again to the naiad before him.

The ringing wouldn't stop, but the sounds of everything else around him seemed to grow clearer. From his uninjured side at lease.

What was going on?

What in the world was this strange Naiad talking about? Moana didn't have time to puzzle it out right now, but chalked it up to having other things on her mind as well as the emotional strain her power put on her. Likely that was why she was feeling so irritated and snippy. After all, the stranger had been kind enough to come forward to help. Moana was likely just reading some of the odd things she said in the wrong way.

Focusing on pulling the cloth taut and looping a quick knot, a few more tight wraps, then tying it off, the Court Lady finally pulled back, trying to reassess the situation. With a light huff of her gills, she turned to answer the other. "Moana. What's your name?"

Pondering for a moment what new sort of exhaustion this was about to cause, Moana pushed forward anyway, reaching out to the brilliant light of the glowing castle for strength. After a few moments, her hands seemed to glow dimly, her scales that had seemed dull just minutes before beginning to shine and shimmer again. Her mood too started to lift, but only slightly given the entirety of the situation. She was about to resume her healing work when the splitting screech echoed through the whole of the castle, followed by the crash. She had jumped, tensing and eyes widening. What in the Waters...?

Answers! He needed answers NOW!

Of course, he wasn't likely to get them from the guard in this shape. Not that he particularly cared much right now. The only thing that mattered were the girls. Come hell or storm fury, the Captain would not rest until his girls were safe, and Spirits help anyone who got in his way.

Turin's eyes remained solid, glowing white, though his vision was red, but not just from the blood in the water. His scales seemed to ripple, his form slowly growing larger, tail longer until he was perhaps half again as large as the poor guard he had easily pinned to the wall. "Snorri." Though his tone was slower, more enunciated and focused on the guard's name, it still rumbled with barely contained rage and perhaps carried more threat than his earlier shouts. The temperature of the surrounding waters dropped further still, steadily descending until an icy shimmer passed over the Captain's warm hued scales. Inches from the guard's face, the Captain phrased his question slowly, enunciating each word carefully in his low timbre.

"Where. Are. My. Daughters?"

Her fauny ears flicked in response to the answer, she offered a smile before replying in turn. "Rosewater." While keeping her hands on the boy's shoulders, she quietly observed Moana begin to 'charge up' for her next round of healing. Now that was interesting... Wonder what that could be...

"So, how's your healing power wo--?"

Likely, if Rose had been aware of Moana's position in the power structure in the Spring, she would have addressed her more politely. Or perhaps not... It was hard to know with this girl. Her curiosity was piqued regardless. That said, a loud screech had effectively cut her off, and her hears (then head) twisted in the direction it came from. By the earth... What was that? Not even those serpents from before had sounded like that.

-----------------------------------------------

Disoriented as he was, Snorri had yet been able to begin processing that his Captain had him pinned to the wall and was beginning his transformation once more. His eye continued wandering until a single, slowly uttered word seemed to catch his attention.

His name.

At that, his eye returned to the source - forward - and blinked once. Slowly. He didn't recognize what was in front of him, but the tone sent a painfully cold shiver up his already cold spine, and that was not because the water around him continued to drop in temperature.

Recognition did not come until the second statement.

Daughters. Daughters...?

Though unfocused, his eye seemed to tug at lucidity as the silence continued after the Captain's demand. He gazed off as his mind attempted to put back into place what had happened. Daughters... He had been watching... The Captain and Queen's daughters... There had been... Sadron... And the Captain... fighting... They'd escaped...

They'd escaped... And then...

And then...

"Ahhhh...." His body instinctively tensed up at the pain, his vision growing hazy once more as it threatened to return him to unconsciousness. But he was a stubborn man. Wincing, fingers twitching, his eye seemed to struggle to focus on the man in front of him, if he could even be called that at this point.

"Am....bush...."

His voice was hoarse, raspy, soft and muddled. His mouth tasted of iron and bile, a wave a nausea washing over him as everything lost form again. Then returned. Somewhere, ingrained far deeper into his unconsciousness than his ability to think, he knew. He had to tell him. The scales, the dark form... Lunging at them. No match. They were no match. The boy's arm... His arm...

An icy hand slowly reached up to rest on the arm that pinned its shoulder to the wall and gripped is with a force that was minutely detectable. Was it trembling out of fear from its owner's memory, or from how cold everything had become? An eye looked back up in the presumed direction of Turin's face,

"Ser---"

He coughed, blood leaking from his mouth and drifting away in small tendrils. His breathing was soft, his chest's movement barely noticeable. His voice was barely audible, not more than a whisper, as he struggled to maintain his consciousness and speak.

"Ser...pent... A.... Attack..."

His mouth opened and closed silently, as if he struggled to find the right words. He clearly hesitated. His memory... Could he even trust his memory right now? Like this? It was likely his memories were jumbled up, that recent events were all mixing up and confounding what he'd witnessed. Perhaps he was even making it all up in this state, an unconscious attempt to try and justify how they'd come to be this way. But if there was even a shred of potential that his mind wasn't playing tricks on him... If there was even a non-zero chance that he was right... Alu help them all... The Captain... The Captain needed to know...

His grip twitched as his eye looked back up, resolve once more found. Even so, there seemed to be a mix of anguish and anger in what tone of his could be discerned.

"Court...."

"Ser...pent..."

All of the floating blood was clouding the waters. "Damnit," Sadron grumbled. How could he smell anything else? "DAMNIT," he bellowed. He could feel the water around his fists heat up as they had while he was being controlled. ".... the ********?" An idea passed through his head. He placed his hands on his wounds and groaned in pain as they cauterized.

Did that son of a hagfish give him heat powers? What was going on? His anger gave way to puzzlement.

And just like that it was gone. The naiad would have to deal with this later. For now his concern was to elude Tariel until she calmed down.

What sounded like an explosion shook the castle. Sadron's adrenaline spiked once again. His heart made one big thump in his chest. He could feel his sides tighten. This could only mean one thing. "No. No no. Nonononono. She's going to kill everything."

With a flash of light on scales, Sadron swam full speed toward the exit. The teal torpedo of a pae sliced through the water in the direction of the floating debris. He dodged around bits of wall suspending in the water. At least this far from the blood he could smell again.

If he were to be a snackrifice today, at least he'd go out with his faculties intact. "Today's a good day to die," he yelled to the fish as he passed, pointing himself in Tariel's direction.

The fish were thoroughly unimpressed.

Beltan had been under the impression that he'd made his entrance just after all hell had broken loose. When the screeching cry reverberated through the throne room and the whole palace rocked with what sounded like an explosion, it became quite clear that he was square in the middle of it.

Badly shaken and knocked off-balance, any sort of plan he might have had when he'd first surged forward went right out of his head. Beltan watched blankly as the last authority figure of old he recognized made an exit in spectacular fashion and he found himself completely at a loss as to what to do. His first inclination was to go after the Queen but, frankly, he had no idea where she had gone and would most likely waste precious time trying to locate her. Forcing his focus to the here and now, he assessed what he could immediately accomplish: there were civilians and wounded in the palace.

Hoping the guests had had the sense to get out without panicking, he moved toward the two healers he could see and their charge.

Ayu blinked as everything seemed to whirlpool and spiral out of control. One second she's marveling the little Princesses from afar with the possibility of getting a closer look of the precious babes... and the next...?

It's like the entire ocean floor suddenly dropped out from under them. The babies were gone, some of Triton's daughters appeared to be missing, blood tainted the water, others were panicked, and the Queen was... screaming?

She pressed herself closer to Triton, trying not to panic herself. A pair of her tentacles wrapped lightly around his fin and trembled. She was terrified! But also didn't want to hinder his ability to swim.

Octavius chuckled softly at Ariel. She was absolutely precious. Things definitely took a turn for the worst, however.

In the very instant things began to happen, Octavius was pulling Ariel protectively closer. He'd spent a good portion of his life protecting Ayu from various threats, so he had no trouble falling instantly into the role. "Take my hand, and don't let go." he demanded, interlocking their fingers. He then pushed his limbs quickly together, propelling them above the heads of the crowd.

In his experience, familiar faces often felt safer. They were all in a sea of strangers. He knew he had to get Ariel to her dad or one of her sister... and Ayu will likely need a familiar face too. He turned his gaze to the throne since it was the last place he'd seen Ariel's father with Ayu. Sure enough, the large, buff old man was there and he could just make out the small wisps of Ayu's hair drifting on the other side of him. "This way..." he patted Ariel's hand in his and swam them over.

They got to Triton and Ayu's side just as others were attempting to usher the masses out of the palace.

Turin was struggling to restrain himself as he waited painstakingly for the single words from Snorri's lips to slowly form phrases. The urge to shake the guard to hurry him up was strong. Ambush? Clearly. The aftermath showed that whatever had happened here, the guards had been unable to do anything useful to stop it.

Serpent attack? Yes, but they'd fled in time to escape the battle in the throne room. There shouldn't have been any danger from the serpents after Tariel assisted their escape--

Court serpent. No, they'd been well free of the battle out here. He and Sadron...

Turin felt like the blood in his veins had swiftly been replaced with ice. He and Sadron were accounted for, yes, but they weren't the only court serpents...

His mind started racing. When was the last time that he'd seen her? She'd been noticably absent for some time. Since...had it been that long? Since the meeting to create a formal alliance with the Faun? After what they'd learned that day...it made sense...

I'll have her head!

Turin released Snorri abruptly, leaving him to sink back to the floor of the hallway as the Captain darted away with murder in his eyes. Back towards the throne room, he had a duty to perform...then he would give in to his rage. Not yet. Not yet. Halfway back to the throne room, he found a guard on his way to investigate the sounds from this direction. He seemed startled by the Captain's half-shifted appearance, but quickly threw a salute and a 'Sir!" in his direction. Turin stopped his forward momentum with an abrupt twist that left bubbles in the wake.

"You! Report back to the others with my orders. There's no time to waste. The Princesses have been taken. I want the full regimen on alert! Let no one leave the castle without being interrogated. Further more, find the Queen's adviser. I want her detained on sight. Do not underestimate her; full squads, assumed dangerous. Further down this hall are two injured. Get them taken to the infirmary and cared for. I have questions for them when they're stabilized. These are my orders."

Leaving the terrified guard nodding enthusiastically to his orders, Turin allowed the rage he felt to claw its way forth. Heading for the nearest exit, he let out a guttural roar, continuing to shift as he set out to join the Queen in sweeping the lake bed in search for vengeance.

The Naiad Queen, in her fear and rage, swam away, hoping to catch the pae responsible. Priority number 1, rescue her precious daughters. Priority number 2, tear the kidnapper to pieces. Queen Tariel transformed into her giant, raging and unreasonable leviathan form to hunt. In her haste, she burst through a wall in an attempt to catch up with the kidnapper.

The father of those precious babies, Head of the Queensguard and consort to the queen, Captain Turin, fled after. His motivations same as the queen's; find his daughters and mince the perpetrator.

The rest of the palace, naiad and guests are left with few answers. News spread of the act, and a notice is sent out to be on alert for information pertaining to the princesses. And to be on guard as there is a villain among them now.

=========================

The princesses' staff was left in an awful state. The damage, both physical and emotional will leave deep scars. We encourage those seeking answers to RP with Tox Curie (EvilSilverDragon), Logan (DaemonGabrielle), and Snorri (Daisicle) for help. They are the key witnesses.

===========================

We are encouraging all of you to RP and help with the search for the little princesses. It is through these RPs we will determine which naiad will fill the empty court positions. (twist!) We are hoping to add players that are active, reliable and enthusiastic for our naiad and meta plot to join us in shaping Naiad culture and the future of the Water Element.

Thank you for participating! We hope you all love the new types of Naiad and enjoy playing them as much as we enjoyed creating them. We are thankful for your patience in getting this RP to where it needed to be. We look forward to see the RP search for the princesses!

All of us are available for RP. Please label your RP [NAIAD SEARCH] so we know which threads to drop clues in.

[We also would like to thank all participants for your hand in the event. We know we drew this out longer than planned, but sometimes things happen. We are so thankful for all of your patience and support! heart ]

((This event RP is now considered concluded and counts as an RP towards RP perks. We encourage everyone to continue any storylines that started here in new threads in the main RP forum.))
