Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
Tzei has no family that she can remember. She joined a Hong Kong triad when she was young and worked with their drug smuggling and prostitution rackets around the world, because being able to see who was being followed by Shadows turned already-paranoid people into easier targets.
Her greed got the better of her and she made use of the comparatively lax gang management system for low- and mid-tier members to sell information from one gang to another. A deus offer came in right around the time the triads got wise to her snitching, and since she had no desire to experience 五雷誅滅, an opportunity to disappear couldn't have come at a better time. She set her cash reserves and her apartment on fire after signing, just to make sure no one (including her new employer) got their hands on anything.
