This adventure had ceased to be magical. Today it was finally hitting in that she was miles and miles and miles away from home. There was no warm gathering of bodies to help her sleep, no brother or father to protect her, and no bounty of food. Isjaki was not impressed, not at all. After years and years of hearing her mother and father’s chance meeting in a pool of water, Isjaki had stopped and waited at each one along the way. She was starting to believe that a golden prince appearing by water was some sort of myth and it fueled her frustrations. She was tired of flying, tired of eating grass and most definitely tired of walking. How dumb could she be to believe that stallions just appear? Isjaki tried to reason with her self, mumbling between labored breaths. That’s why she left, right? Because she knew if she just stayed home with her family, she would never find her one true love.
But did true love even exist? Or did it just shine down on a select few people? Isjaki thought she was pretty enough. She has seen other soquili along the way, but none of them approached her. Maybe they thought her wading in the waters a private act? She didn’t know and at this point she didn’t really care, she was just so tired. The last few days she had crossed a giant span of plains, and had finally reached the edge of a forest. There wasn’t much in the way of water so she rolled in the dry grasses to keep her coat as pristine as she could.
Isjaki looked into the woods, taking a deep breath and letting out a sigh. She couldn’t remember which direction she had come from. Until she could sit down and remember if the sun was in the west or the east along her journey, she figured she would just keep going forward. A few steps into the forest and she immediately regretted it. There were brambles and it was dark and damp. Isjaki pushed through, trying to find where the light dappled in through the leaves, following what little bit there was. And that’s when she heard the water. Big water.
Her heart raced and she rushed forward through all the brush and thorns, stopping herself from screaming with joy. Big water has to mean a bigger chance of meeting the one! She just knew it. Isjaki could see a bright opening of sun ahead, and the sound of rushing water was so loud. The last of the forest seemed to disappear and all she could see was the giant waterfall filing the river below.
The sight its self was so magnificent that she could take or leave finding her stallion today. Isjaki rubbed her self on the shoulder, she knew she had done well. Although she was now covered in leaves, her hair was filled with thorny vines she knew that this had to be the place. The water she slowly waded into was the perfect temperature, just cold enough to ease her tired legs and wings, and it flowed fast enough that she could detangle her hair without floating downstream. The magic returned. Now she just had to wait and see what this body of water would bring.

Thaddeus was off again on another trip around the lands of Kawani. He had finished helping his now good friend, Shadow, in a quest to find the stallion's long last brother. Shadow's story had hit a lot of Thaddeus' heartstrings, the familiarity of Shadow's plight all to familiar. Having lost his own father in a rather traumatic event, Thaddeus couldn't help but feel all that much more obligated to reuniting other Soquili who were separated from their loved ones. Thaddeus had been glad that Shadow's younger brother was still in good health and they had been able to find Dusk in the care of Dusk's adoptive mother, Eve. It had left Thaddeus feeling satisfied, happy, and like some of the weight from losing his father had lifted.
He had stopped by where his mother and sister resided to regale the events and to spend some time with them before moving on. The stallion enjoyed his time at home. His mother and sister were such important parts of his life, and while he enjoyed his expeditions out and about in the world, helping those that needed him, and defending those that had no way of defending themselves. It was often grueling, but rewarding work, and it felt good, knowing he was making a difference in the lives of others, helping them and leaving some lasting positive impression. At least, that's what he hoped he was doing.
The stallion hadn't stayed long with his mother and sister, itching to move on and explore different parts of the lands he had yet to see. There had been tale of some beautiful waterfalls, a sight that hadn't been easy to come by in his foalhood home, and the form water took in the current place his family took residence was lakes and streams. Waterfalls were a rarity, and the ones he had witnessed were wimpy little things, the product of small streams trailing down from natural springs against rough rock outcroppings. He was happy to be back out in the world, out doing things, out stretching his legs.
The place he had discovered was beautiful. There were plenty of thickets in the area, creating a nice area of shade on the ground to relax in if Thaddeus ever felt like it. It was lush, green, and peaceful. It was a quaint place that he was sure his sister, Clarissa, would love if she could travel to it. His words would have to paint the perfect picture for her when he got the chance to tell her about it during his next visit home. Though he had paused to enjoy and take in the pleasant sight, he continued on his way through the area and getting familiar with it. It'd be a nice place to set up camp until he was ready to move on and see if there were other herds in the area that could use his assistance.
Thaddeus enjoyed listening to the birds chirp and sing their songs, crickets and cicadas letting out their shrill calls, and the sound of rushing... water? The sound was curious, not one he encountered often. He was used to the soft sound of a babbling brook, but this had a fiercer roar and he could only imagine the full magnitude of the sound once he was closer to it. With his brows drawn in curiosity, Thaddeus pushed through the thinning thickets and found himself standing in a clearing, filled with warm, bright sun, and a beautifully clear river flowing through it, a waterfall spilling from above and feeding the flow. The view was so breathtaking that he almost missed something, no, someone moving in the water. Thaddeus couldn't help but be stunned by the creature's beauty. From what he could see, she was a soft gray, warmer and lighter in tone than his own gray hide. He could see the tips of golden feathered wings poking out from the surface of water and her mane, a beautiful mix of soft white and the same golden color of her wings, floated gently on the water's flowing current.
The stallion stood there, locked in his entrancement. It took him longer than he would have liked to admit to shake himself out of his captivation. What was he supposed to do? Was this a private moment that the mare didn't intend for wanderers to witness? Thaddeus wasn't sure if he should feel like he had intruded, but he hadn't crossed paths with anyone else while he was exploring, so surely she had thought this place private enough to enjoy on her own. He gave a shake of his antler adorned head. He wasn't usually so stunned in his tracks, he was usually bold, confident in his actions, assured of his actions. The gray stallion moved onward, inching closer to the edge of the river, more timid in his approach of this mare than he had ever remembered being before. Was it alright to step in the water and join her? How was he supposed to approach her? He attempted to call out to her, though his first attempt caught in his throat and he let out nothing more than a breath from the back of his throat. He attempted once more, wanting to get the mare's attention without being ude or invading her space. "Excuse me!" Thaddeus looked out at, making sure she realized that, yes, it was indeed her he was talking to. "... Should I... not be here right now?"
