`·.¸¸.Ophelia had been taken back by how happy he seemed to see someone like her. She honestly didn’t think that she would ever see him again, not that she cared if she hadn’t. He seemed to have found it strange too. Calling it fate seemed unlikely, she doubted that any strings of fate were attached to each other.

She stared at the paper she had given him, not really having a need for it. The woman reached out with her now free hand and took it back, very careful not to make any physical contact. Ophelia’s gaze strayed away towards the board when he mentioned that she could have sold it, it did cross her mind. “It’s not mine to sell and on top of that I’m not desperate for money,” Her dark ocean eyes stared back at his crimson ones for a second before she readied to put both papers away.

".. what's that paper you have there…draconic character… Draconic is my native tongue…I'll take the job whatever it is!” Ophelia stopped her movements as she heard important key words from his talking.

“W-what?” she turned to face him with a surprised appearance. It could not have been this easy, right? ‘Draconic characters? Draconic? Lizard boy is a dragon.’ Her assumptions the first time she met him seemed to be correct. That didn’t matter however. Her expression turned serious. Should she just hand him the request? What did she have to lose? She put the map away before extending her hand arm out only to stop abruptly. “I know what it reads.” Her appearance and the tone in her voice did not falter as she lied to the man. “I’ll know if you’re lying to me,” she stated coldly as her hand continued in his direction. Her eyes watched him carefully, his body language first before being fixated on his face where he held a charming smile.

A Rose's bluff.

Ved noticed her subtle choice to not come into contact with his scaley hand, and to stare at the board as he spoke. After making a mental note he simply said softly.

"Well still I appreciate your honesty. Sometimes I feel like honesty is a rare commodity these days that not everyone shares."
Ved will look a bit puzzled to her bluff, but isn't sure if she's lying or not. He gently takes the paper and reads the whole sheet. Learning of what's written he watches it carefully but then snaps back a little, blinking a few times. He says in a confused manner.

"Well That's odd, this writing is awfully old. And I mean really old! Like over 1,000 years old! I may need a minute with this since it's written a bit differently gramatically compared to what's used today. But I've heard similar words from the leaders to my town." Ved looked up to ophelia with a raised eyebrow. Now he was suspicious of her actions and motives. He folded the paper and tucked it into his front pocket before he spoke in a rather calm and nonchalant tone.

"Well don't you worry your pretty little head there. I can still translate it perfectly fine, it'll just take me a minute or two. So I'm curious, do you know any good places to eat around here? How about we talk more about this job during lunch or something? I have a few questions myself if I may ask, and I feel here is a bit too crowded for our conversation..." He ended his nonchalant attitude with a bit of still seriousness in his speech. He would walk past Ophelia hoping she'd follow before quickly stopping and turning back around. His tail whipping about smoothly.

"OH, I almost forgot! I don't think we've been properly introduced to eachother. You know my name is Ved Viidost, but what about yours? I don't think I ever asked, my bad." Ved extended his scaled hand out for a handshake, a proper greeting, with a polite and, slightly embarrassed, small smile. If Ophelia chose to shake his hand ved would simply step aside and motion toward the exit with his hand in a chivalrous manner, as if to offer her to lead the way to a nice food service.

`·.¸¸.The woman stared at him just slightly baffled when he put the paper away in his person. Why didn’t he just hand it back to her? She could always make a new one, but that hadn’t been the point. The more important thing is what he said. The text had been more than 1,000 years old which honestly didn’t surprise her, that much.

‘Seriously?!’ If it would only take him that long why not just look at it? What would be the point of going out to some place to eat? To waste time! And on top of that he had questions! Had this overgrown lizard man person not read her entire script? Ophelia felt a bit surprised that she felt this irritated with a person. A reason why she kept to herself, actually this is the very reason she didn’t want to post the job up in the first place. The woman relaxed her hands that at some point turned into fists and instead placed her right hand over her hip. She needed to relax. Ved seemed to know something, if not he seemed to be a great actor. At this time, she had to give him what he wanted; which had been more than what she wanted to give him.

“I know of a single place.” Before she even managed to take a step to follow him, he stopped. That only brought up the memory of when she met him. He had been ready to leave until he stopped to ask if she wanted to be escorted and once more to give her his name. Now he asked for her name and she could only watch him with her dark blue eyes. The best way she could describe his entire appearance is dorky then gentlemen, especially with that smile on his personable face.

‘Be nice, he could be useful’the woman placed her hand on his and shook it once. As cold as her appearance seemed, her hands were surprisingly warm. “Ophelia,” her softly colored pink lips offered him no smile. As she took her hand back, she moved forward to lead the way out of the building.

Ophelia had no words to offer the man, the only talking she would do is if he had anything to say to her. Otherwise it remained a silent walk out of the castle and towards the establishment she needed to take him to.

On the outside the place seemed rather mundane, the sign upfront read “Hush”. Ophelia entered without stopping. First impression of the place, probably overpriced. The ashen haired woman walked over to the counter, the man behind it instantly walked over to her almost drooling at the mouth. She handed him money in exchange for the private room upstairs, he nodded in approval as he quickly took the currency. Ophelia motioned to Ved to follow her as she wasted no time to walk up the stairs and into a emerald colored door with a gold handle. Inside is a room that had the similar design as the main restaurant just on the smaller scale, meant for a small group.

“Honestly, anywhere would seem too crowded,” her voice remained soft and impassive. “We have this room to ourselves,” her eyes wondered over to the waiter that stood still in the corner “Almost,” she corrected herself before she sat herself down on a chair that stood by the round table. Ophelia placed her bag besides one of the empty seats next to her before she watched Ved, her thumb playing with the flap of the menu that lied on the table. ‘This is going to be a long day.’

A pleasent luncheon

Ophelia seemed to play right along in the Dragon's hands. He had been paying attention to the situation now that things are more serious. He noticed when she was slightly baffled, and her hands on hip to relax. It was amusing to watch the interaction. But he couldn't help but occasionally find himself watching more her face than gestures. Ophelia's hand felt supple and smooth, it was nice to feel against his scales. Ved mimiced back in a soft smooth way.

"Ophelia~? Hm, that's a very nice name, it has a nice ring to it. It's a true pleasure to meet you Ophelia~..."
As she took the lead he made sure to keep close, and quickly follow behind her. As the two left the castle, down the stairs, and began to go in the direction Ophelia was a strange smell ran through the air nearby. It was a cold, dark, demonic, and fowl like a corpse. It left a bad taste in his senses as it was paired with a strong strange perfume. It didn't take very long for Ved to look around the area to spot the peculiar blonde female.
She was dressed rather uncouth, and gave off a presence that didn't stew well with ved. He watched her for a second or two, a long glance, hoping she'd notice his glare from where he was. Ved wanted to make sure she knew he saw her, it was a quiet challenge. If she noticed the large dragon then he'd lick his lips to taste the air, getting her smell on his tongue. This made him scowl in it's bad flavor and click his tongue with a toothy frown, he thought to himself.
Tsk, a damn vampire; gross. And this one seems to be the manipulative type, even more gross. But it's not my concern, if she wants to dress like a filthy Harlot then so be it. He looked away after the short moment and continued his pace with Ophelia. Sure while the blood sucker's features were alluring, it wouldn't surprise Ved if all she could do is play off her looks and nothing more.

When the two arrived at the restaurant and were given a private room Ved was impressed to say the least. In the small room he gave an pleased whistle, as he nonchalantly commented while he observed the room.

"Wooow~ Now this is some class. I must say ophelia you have good taste. I'm flattered really, all this pizzazz for little 'ol me~?" He spoke in a teasing way as he took his seat, and gave a soft chuckle at his own words. He then continued in a more casual voice.

"All jokes aside I apologize if this is an inconvenience, but we have important matters here. If it makes you feel better I'll cover the bill~!" He would then patiently wait for Ophelia to order any drinks or food, before Ved would order his own and ask for a particular brand of expensive red wine. Once the waiter was out of the room he leaned forward with his fingers locked and supporting his chin, he pulled out the paper Ophelia wrote keeping his hand over it on the table. It seemed he peered at her with a watchful stare, but seemed to be enjoying what he was watching. He began in a serious tone as he then would slowly take off his overcoat to get more comfortable, then rested his Greatsword against the chair next to his left side.

"Now I know you don't want questions, but I have some anyway because I need to be sure of a few things. I have a feeling you were lying to me earlier, and were you? I would hope not since you seemed so nice and honest before hand. If you truly knew what that text said, then you wouldn't have a need to ask people to translate it. However, I'm glad you gave me the oppurtunity since anyone else there would have swindled you, Draconic is not easy to learn." It seemed Ved now meant business, but made sure his presence wasn't overbearing, in fact it seemed like him asking if she was lying was more of a rhetorical question; the man seemed pretty sure she was lying. He continued after a short pause with.

"I would like to know where you got this text from, and why you want it translated. There is no right answer here, per say, I just need to make sure I'm not contributing to a plot that will harm my home town and dragon kin. My people had already suffered enough as is, so we don't need more." It was here that he would unfold the paper again and once again study the text some more, working on making perfect sense of it, waiting for her answer. Lastly, before she could answer, he added with.

"If it makes things easier for you, I don't want your payment. It's a nice reward but I'll help you for free so long as we are on the same page here. I don't need the full story to everything, just what's related to the question at hand, the faster you answer and more transparent you are. The faster I can tell you the answsers you seek Ophelia."
Ved's eyes peeked from behind the top of the page, a raised eyebrow told her he was interested in both her, and this situation.

`·.¸¸.“This is a private matter,” she spoke sternly. With a snap of her fingers the waiter came running over, he seemed young and nervous. As she finished giving him her order, she added that she wanted everything brought at the same time and then for them to be left alone. He nodded and moved on over to the blonde-haired man where he seemed just as nervous. "No need for you to pay," she mentioned as the young waiter took his order and left in a quick pace.

Ophelia couldn’t help but feel irritated over him questioning her. “I have no reason to explain myself to you. Afterall, you took this job without even knowing what it entailed.” Her gaze became cold as she continued on “I’ve been doing research for over 50 years now, I’m aware of how difficult it is. Aside from that small script there is more that I need translated. That is why I need to know if someone can read this. If they can, we can move on further to the real job, which-” she pointed at the piece of paper he held towards his face “is the book that has also been mentioned.” She placed her hand back on her lap, her gaze never leaving Ved’s form. Ophelia took in a deep breath before continuing on. “I’m doing this for the sake of my people, they have also suffered and it’s about time I returned that torment back to whom casted it first,” in simple terms, revenge. The woman leaned into her seat refusing to give up anymore than she had to.

“This will not harm your kin in anyway, I promise.” Her voice softened up as she became sincere. If he were telling the truth or not, she felt sympathetic. “I only want to know what the tome is telling me and then you can be on your way and we will never have to see each other again. No one gets hurts.” Ophelia leaned over to her bag before pulling out a rather thick and old book. She didn’t remove her hands from it even once it had been set on the table. It had been obvious that she felt the need to protect it.

The curious dragon that could...

Ved watched amused as Ophelia ordered the waiter around in an expertly controlling manner, it brought a small coy smirk to his face. He admired the spunk Ophelia displayed and knew she not only meant business, but that this matter is of the utmost weight. Ved gave a nice order, a hearty meal fit for a dragon. Now it was a matter of entertaining Ophelia and himself, while also waiting for the wine. Her cold stare didn't faze Ved, in fact he met hers with his own tempting stare of curiosity and knowledge.

"Ah I see, interesting. 50 years is a lot of dedication, I'm actually a bit surprised you've been around that long. You seemed so fair and young I thought you were somewhat young. But regardless you seem passionate about this, set on your choices. To be honest I'm glad you're taking action against your oppressors, whoever they are, my issue is a bit larger and I am but one dragon." Ved spoke in a soft tone, seeming sympathetic with her cause but also calm. It seemed he has had a lot of years to stew on whatever his issue is. With this he perked up when the book came into view and wanted to see more of it. Indeed the design was old, fitting of the age, and was very large too. The amount of secrets and knowledge held within this book enticed Ved a lot, it pulled on his impulses and desires like a mouse seeing a wheel of cheese being left out! He swallowed a tad of nervousness down his throat and composed himself subtly, he needed to play his cards right if he was going to get anywhere with this woman.

"I see your reasons and I symapthize with your choices. So I'll help you anyway I can, you seem like a strong woman in more ways than one and I admire that. Where I come from Strength is the cultural code, and proving oneself to be worthy of respect and acceptance from my kin can be difficult. Or perhaps I'm rather 'open minded'~" He finished with a small giggle at his own words, he seemed to have complimented her but also was playful with it. With a clearing of his throat he got serious once more and wrote down in english under the draconic characters.

"Anyway back to business, I appreciate my people's consideration and for that I'm humbled. Translating that book will take a long time, and that's if everything can be clearly read in the first place. But to give you the answer you seek the paper says: 'Yein in Silon Strun.' Which translates to: 'Hail our Silver Storm.'" Ved slowly leaned forward handing the paper back to Ophelia, as he did so his eyes wandered down to stare at the cover of the book, hoping to see more of it. His thin shirt was almost see through, but had bits of gold and purple embroidered to it that would make it lightly dance and reflect the nearby light in small ways. Through the shirt a deep blue glow could be seen that matched the same glow from the markings on his arms and face. Ved leaned back down in his chair and said nonchalantly.

"Well I hope that helps you, I'm not entirely sure what it could mean. Old books like these tend to be overly cryptic, and if you don't mind me asking what is your take away from that? What does this line mean to you, if at all? I myself am not really sure what to take from it, but I am interested in wanting to know more. Perhaps you'd like to negotiate another deal or bargain relating to the book itself? This job posting is one thing, but the book is another story so I feel a seperate deal would need to be agreed on for it~" He finished in a rather coy tone, as if trying to subtly suggest talking more. What felt odd is that Ved didn't come off in an untrustworthy demeanor, but instead had a more charismatic air to the situation. It seemed he was both serious and enjoying himself in the moment, it also seemed like he was very intruiged in Ophelia and her book, but didn't want to show it upfront or admit it.

Jodan turned to Shift when he jumped down and approached him, informing him that no one tried to ambush them. He smiled and thanks the man, but then he was interrupted by what Shift said next. Wanting to talk to him in private? "Huh? Wh-what do you need to talk about?" He asked. The look on the man's face intimidated Jodan a bit. He looked so serious. He couldn't help but freeze a bit. Before Shift could say anything, his attention was drawn to something else. He instructed him to stay here, and ran off. He was gone in a flash. Jodan stared at where Shift disappeared at into the trees. He let out a breath, trying to calm himself.

"What would he want to talk about that didn't involve Zuki and Amara?" He muttered to himself, glancing at the two girls who still slept. He tried to figure out what could possibly on the man's mind. So many different scenarios. Jodan paced back and forth, muttering to himself more. "Perhaps he wanted to talk about this mission? Maybe figure out a plan that he possibly felt would be best for me and him to discuss? I mean... I am the one who wanted to come out here and I hired him to help. Or maybe he wanted to talk about something else? But what else would it be?"

Jodan held up his right hand to his mouth, lightly biting on the thumbnail, while holding his left arm to his right elbow. He continued to pace back and forth. "Maybe...." He stopped and paused for a moment, looking up slightly. "Don't tell me he wants just want sot leave Zuki and Amara behind while we go into the mountains? I mean... it would be faster that way and have a better chance of collecting a lot of the scales... but... I don't want to leave them behind by themselves. Who knows what could be lurking in this forest...." The muttering continued. "No way he could possibly say that, right? Right? They've also agreed to come with to help it and the more the merrier, right?"

"Gah!" He placed his hands on his head, ruffling up his hair a bit. He took a few deep breaths to try to calm himself. He really shouldn't be overthinking this! Right now, Shift is handling a potentially dangerous situation, since he said someone seemed to be approaching. He felt Shift would be able to handle it by himself, though he wondered what could be taking so long? He shook his head, trying to stop himself from overthinking things again. "He'll be okay! I'm sure he'll be okay! He's pretty strong after all, right?"

He smacked his cheeks lightly. "Stop it Jodan, you don't need to worry so much!" He growled to himself lightly, trying not to talk so loud to wake the girls. He looked up to the sky. "Maybe I'll fly up and take a look at our surroundings, and figure out how much further we are from the White Hills." With that, the wings appeared on his hips, his feet lifting up from the ground. He hovered up above the trees through the clearing, looking around his surroundings. All he saw were trees, and trees, and more trees. But he also saw the behemoth size of the White Hills, some of the peaks reaching up into the clouds. The Hills is known to be the largest mountain range in this world. At he very least, they won't have to climb up too high to find some dragon scales. He looked around again, then back down to the campsite, seeing the girls were still asleep.

He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them up, the magic circles appearing in front of his eyes. Everything around him was revealed, seeing through the trees, to determine the proper path to take towards the mountains. Being up here, and with the girls still asleep, especially Zuki, Jodan figured it would be safe to use his Foresight. He could see where Shift was, and the figure next to him. Probably the person Shift went to investigate that was nearing their camp site. Seems Shift's focus is towards the other man, so it's likely he won't see detect Jodan using his ability, same with the other man. At least, hopefully. His Foresight expanded out towards the mountains, determining the pathway. Along the way, Jodan detected someone that would likely come across the path, seem to be looking towards his direction.

Jodan let out a gasp, the magic circles vanishing in front of his eyes. He allowed himself to drop to the ground with a thud. He could feel his chest pounding! Did this person happen to see him!? He couldn't tell, as he was in such a panic that he bailed! He hoped whoever it was didn't see him Jodan rushed over to where Amara and Zuki slept, lightly shaking their shoulders. "Hey..." He tried to whispered, with his breathing irregular. He could feel himself shaking a bit, trying to take deep breaths to calm himself. But it wasn't working. His mind was in too much of a disarray. "Zuki... Amara... Wake up...." He spoke between breaths. "We should... get packed up.... and head out... And then.... go find Shift..."

Since Amara knows of his Foresight, she would understand why he would be in such a panic. But as for Zuki, she doesn't know yet. So it's likely she'll be confused.

`·.¸¸.“I’m only 105, that’s rather young… she stopped herself from getting distracted from the matter at hand and continued to listen to the man talk vaguely about his circumstance and his people. His comment on her being strong didn’t change her emotions much.

“Yein in Silon Strun. Which translates to: Hail our Silver Storm.” Her entire being perked up, her expression clearly one of surprise. He knew what the text read! Silon Strun, Silver Storm, O Lux Candida where all names that were constantly repeated throughout the book because it had been the same being. Ophelia’s hands came up from the book and clasped together in front of her as though she were ready for prayer:

“Silon Strun
Nostra O Lux Candida
Abiit c** ventus
Spem omnem
Nostra salutis
Nostra responsa
Ad eum locum qui dicitur domum suam
Ad somnum sempiternum et in “Diinaan himdah”
Semper in orationibus
Requiem oculis vestris
Vivificantern
Sot Petals mah
Sot Petals mah"

Ophelia opened her eyes and placed her hands back down on the book as though she were done with saying a prayer. “Diinaan himdah and sot petals mah,” she eyed him with a small glimmer of hope, her voice sounding more animated. “Are these words familiar to you?! These are the only ones I don’t understand-” before she could continue a knock on the door stopped her “Come in” several waiters came in with trays of food in their hands, most of them being opened and dropped off in front of the dragon. A tea set and some nicely sliced sandwiches were placed in front of her. Lastly, one of the men poured Ved a glass of red wine and as he readied to go over to the young lady, she quickly dismissed him. He sat down the bottle on the table and disappeared with the rest of them. This gave her enough time to compose her excitement.

“What kind of deal are you suggesting?” she responded with her best uninterested voice so that she wouldn’t seem to eager. This dragon, this man seemed to be her only hope at the moment, but she didn’t want him to know that at all.

`·.¸¸.♡║Such a sweet and dominating dream the young maiden was having. The silver haired lass sat on a beautifully decorated throne with a ball gown so beautiful it lit like the sun. Her legs rested on Shift’s back as he stood on his hands and knees.
“My tempting and robust princess, how I’ve missed you!” A royally dressed Jodan would appear and take her hand kissing it lovingly.

“Oh my,” Amara bashfully looked away “You’re too much for my eyes to gaze upon my love,” she felt his hand gently tug her chin so that she would turn to face him once more.

“Please, my princess I only want our lips to meet at last”

“Oh Jodan! Please take me!” She turned to face him with pure bliss and as soon as their lips were close to meet something strange happened. In front of her it was no longer her charming prince, but her leg rest Shift! “NOOOO!” Amara shouted as their lips almost made contact, but she instantly awoke sitting up right away.

Looking left and right she stopped upon seeing Jodan “M-My Prin- Err Jodan. O-oh!” she quickly removed herself from her sleeping bag and focused only on her distraught blonde angel “A-Are you alright?!” Amara did not like the look of dread came over him “Did you use-” before she could even finish her ruby hues were looking through out their camp and out to the forest. No one seemed to be out there, but Shift also wasn’t here. She turned her attention back to Jodan feeling real concerned in fact she needed to calm herself down. The fact that Jodan felt this way made her want to protect him…with all she had. Distracting herself she moved her body to pack away their belongings. Where exactly had this idiot gone to?

As she continued to pack her belongings, she made horrible discovery. ‘M-my knife…my vial’ her eyes became wild as they searched around the campsite, her hands patting down her person until she realized that both items were not with her. ‘No, no, no, no. This isn’t happening. No! I-it’s alright! I can’t let this get to me, Jodan needs me!’ The young lass calmed herself and did her best to smile “It’s alright Jodan! You’ll be alright!”

The truth revealed: The dragon that unknowingly played into her hands.

Ved supported his head by resting his fist against his left cheek, leaning a little to the left. He listedn to Ophelia with the same expression of enjoyment, but slight curiosity. With her answer he actually straightened back up in his chair a bit and nodded in surprise as he said.

"Gosh only 105, that is young! I myself am 356 years old which is still in my prime for a Dragon's life span." His tone stopped and he grew quiet as he watched Ophelia bring her hands together for some kind of prayer. He watched with intruige, curious as to what she was doing and saying specifically. With her soft voice she spoke a prayer that sounded like a harmonious chorus to his ears. But what would catch him most off guard where the draconic words laced within the prayer and how Ophelia recited them with upmost fidelity! His hands couldn't help but grip the chair he was in as he could do nothing but watch in awe, his mouth slightly open and his crimson eyes staring with a flurry of conflicting thoughts and questions. As Ophelia finished he was still stuck in this position before quickly shaking his head to get himself back to attention after she spoke a familiar phrase to him. Immediately he tried to not look too surprised or enraptured by what happened. She spoke once more asking him another question. Her silky voice met his ears with an ever so hushed pace, yet a tone that spoke volumes. Quickly coming back to reality he tried to hide his surprise from before and simply cleared his throat as he said in a slow voice.

"U-Uhh, y-yes I do. They are familiar, t-t-they mean-" just as he was speaking he was interrupted by the knock and presence of waiters. He quickly turned his head to the left, trying to hide his gaze and shattered bravado. He rubbed his temple with his two fingers trying to appear distracted to the waiters, before then giving a fake smile of pleasent surprise at the sight of the food.

"Ahh there it is, thank you sirs. I look forward to this." He held up his wine glass for a waiter to pour in the wine, and then proceeding to take a small taste of it. He gave the waiter a nod and thanked him for the bottle. Once they were all gone he recomposed himself by taking a long sip from the glass.

"Ahh, delicious~ Would you like a glass Ophelia?" He offered innocently as he raised the glass a tad, as if to entice her with it. Next Ved cleared his throat to ready himself for his next move. He realized in his head Well clearly this woman is trying to get something, I'm not sure what though. She doesn't seem to really need me given how much of that I didn't know, but I need to learn about her! I need to know how she learned these phrases in draconic yet can't understand them! There is more here than meets the eye and I can't seem too anxious. I should play things calm and smooth, but casual. If she knew how much I'm caught in her web she'll use me, and i'll seem weak! I can't allow that...

"A-Anyway yes I am familiar with those phrases. 'Diinaan himdah' and 'Sot petals mah' are draconic terms, and they mean 'Frozen home' and 'White petals fall.'" Ved spoke in a soft serious manner, not trying to reveal too much behind his tone. He started to eat some of the food to help his demeanor stay calm as he thought carefully about her last question.

"hmm well I was perhaps proposing a deal related to the book. As long as you include me on wherever these clues take you, and we work together on solving this mystery, I can provide my services as translator and protector over you. Not saying you need protection, but if this happens to lead to some ancient horror then I'm sure you wouldn't mind the might of a powerful and elite dragon by your side? Hell I wont even ask for money as payment for my services." He tried to speak innocently, casually more than anything, as if he was making a simple bargain to offer help for help, or a "help me to help you" situation. He tried to not make his voice sound like he was too interested in her specifically, or his motives behind wanting to offer help, but even then he wasn't entirely sure or confident if he succeeded given what had transpired just beforehand. He nervously would very lightly tap on the table using his left fingertips in a rhythmic pattern, to signal his patient attitude in waiting, bu tthis also suggested a sort of anticipation for something. With his right hand he would continue eating from his plate, trying not to show too much emotion, but that can also be a sign that he was nervous enough to forget to enjoy the food given. His crimson eyes were watching her vibrant saphire stare when he spoke, but now they couldn't meet her gaze, they were too focused on various items, bottles, plates, food on the table.

"Well not just some drunk," Decarabia responded with a wry smile. "I'm also a hell of a dancer, a generous lover, an astonishingly talented painter, a genius detective, a renowned vintner, a damn fine chronicler, and the most handsome man you've ever met," he added in something of a sing-songy tone. "But yes, I'm a drunk. But only most of the time." In a moment it seemed as if all his woes of dealing with a hangover were gone. He still suffered from it, of course, but he was nothing if not a showman. This was far from the first time he'd been forced to perform through a hangover. He was far too proud a performer to allow something as small as all the fires of Hell burning out his temples to ruin his composure.

The tiefling's head dropped to the left slightly, the corresponding brow raised. "What?" he said in a confused tone. "So you throw knives at the first humanoid you see? I dunno, seems to me like a good way to provoke a fight, not avoid one, or protect anyone for that matter. You must be new at this." The man claimed the tiefling was no threat, which made him smile. He wasn't wrong. He had little doubt the man before him could put a dozen holes in Decarabia before the tiefling could draw one of his many hidden knives, and he had no interest in pretending otherwise. "That's one of the few correct things you've said so far."

Despite his confrontational demeanor, however, Decarabia had to swallow the bitter pill that this uncivilized person was the only hint of civilization in sight. It would probably be a good idea to follow him out. "Before you take off, you wouldn't happen to know a way out of here, would you? Truth be told, I have no idea where the hell I am, and I'm not exactly the great outdoors type." Decarabia was an entertainer, not a ranger, and that was one thing he was not too proud to admit. "I mean, I follow adventurers around, but I'm no adventurer myself. I did say I was a chronicler, and I was actually being honest about that," he added with a smirk.

Broken swords and dragon's bones
Scattered on the way back home
Beating to the sound of clashing steel
When they're on our heels
Now chant the tales and legends told
Strengthened by the hymns of old
Weathered as this winding road is long
So we sing our traveler's song...

`·.¸¸.Ophelia raised an eyebrow at his sudden stuttering. Had he been astounded by something? Perhaps that she knew a little of his language? She hadn’t been entirely sure how to feel over the fact that they seemed to have lost their composure at the same time, it had been nearly enough to make her smile…nearly but not enough. The woman shook her head slowly to decline his offer of wine, she didn’t have a fancy for drinking at least not with a stranger.

“Frozen home, white petals fall.” The pale figure appeared rather frustrated. How could she be learning so much, yet none of it had been enough to help her. Shaking her head, she placed the book back in her bag to avoid any damage to it. Her hands then traveled over to the beautifully decorated tea pot, she managed to lay her fingers on the handle before stopping to listen to Ved’s words. Her blue eyes darted over to him “What?” Her voice sounded puzzled. “What you’re basically saying is that you want to follow along and be my, what? Knight? A protector of sorts? With no pay? You just want to help me out of curiosity?” Her voice continued to be questioning, she felt completely baffled. Perhaps Ophelia had missed something. Her hands now laid in front of her on the table her attention completely on the dragon “Why?” Her voice held no hint of negativity, she genuinely wanted to know why this is his price? Ophelia didn’t want to seem as though she cared too much and made a quick snatch of a cut sandwich and began nipping at it. Her cobalt eyes darting away from him to stare at something else. But then returning to him, to watch his gestures.

She didn’t mean to have her eyes wonder anywhere else but his face, but they did. First thing she noted, how thin his shirt is and how much she could see through it. The second, something rather strange, radiant markings that she had just noticed “Have you always been shimmering like that?” She became rather quiet. The woman took a bite of her meal before turning away her face that somehow went from white to silver. “N-not you personally, but…” The woman cleared her throat. “I could help but notice the hieroglyphs on your body seem to be well…glowing,” Ophelia completely turned her attention back to the tea pot. Ever so carefully she picked up the hot ceramic container and poured an almost honey color liquid into a matching tea cup. A soothing scent began to fill the room as she set the pot back down. She swirled a spoon around the liquid pretending to keep busy to avoid staring at this man for the time being.

A glowing heart, and a silver face.

Ophelia's sharp stare pierced into Ved's own gaze, he continued to try and hide his uncouth behavior. He thought to himself. Damnit she's onto me! I need to cover this up. I can't let her know I played into her hands. Ved cleared his throat as he said.

"Ah yes well I suppose a protector of sorts is a good term for it. I make a handsome amount of money back in my home town, that's why I didn't want to be paid for translating. Anyway I feel as though where ever these phrases and book came from there could be more Draconic text, and I feel perhaps my insight and knowledge could be invaluable to you~" Ved spoke in an at first calm tone, but towards the end would add a hint of bravado to his speech. He did this to sort of entice Ophelia in a small way, to sell her on the idea of his value. This helped mask his reasoning as to appear that his value could be crucial to her goal. Ved gave a small smirk to help his facade. Behind his confident watch Ved was also studying Ophelia the same way she was him, trying to notice subtle gestures. With her next quiet comments he would be caught off guard, he didn't expect her to say something like that. His smirk faded to a slight head tilt of confusion before understanding what she meant after hearing the explanation.

"O-Oh, that's what you meant! For a second there I thought you were talking of my pristene form, hehe~. Anyway These markings on me are a sign of the powers that flow through my veins, the dragon magic I possess. I was given these markings through a ritual performed on my body a long time ago before I began to serve my town, their glow is a sign of the power within me~" Ved held up his arms, pointing to the twirling marks that ran down them, before he lifted up his hair a little to show off the marks along his face. He spoke in a light hearted way at first, before explaining in a casual nonchalant manner. He noticed her face change color slightly, but he wasn't sure if it was just the lighting playing tricks on his eyes.

Ved went back to eating a portion of his plate once more, taking occasional drinks from his wine, refilling the glass once or twice. After the quiet moment he spoke up once more.

"A-anyway what do you think Ophelia? Would you agree to these terms?" He made a small friendly smile to accompany his offer, before going back to continue eating his meal. With this he had his composure under control and gave off his usual charismatic demeanor. Finally noticing the tea she poured he spoke up in a soft manner.

"Hm that seems like a unique brew, I haven't had much tea before. Would you mind if I had a glass please?" Ved held up a hand holding a tea cup by the handle, his finger looped in the handle. The teacup gave off a reflection of his smooth, black scaled arm.

Zuki had woken up earlier than the rest of the group. She quietly sneaked out and started breakfast for everyone. She knew the aroma would wake them up. Their tummys would be crazing food and their mouth would water. She would watch them slowly come out pleased to see a hearty breakfast consisting of an omlette with fresh veggies and a slice of nicely cooked meat Shift had brought."Eat Up Everyone!" Zuki said happily as she watched them all happily nod and join her around their little campfire. The small group chattered and ate, enjoying themselves, getting to know each other better, bonding and it made Zuki happy. They were all becoming friends!

Zuki continued to eat and listened to their stories when Amara bolted up quickly. Tears streamed down her face. Zuki gasped as she extended her hand to hold onto Amara's, but Amara pulled away, her crying intensifying. "A-amara...wh-whats wrong?!" Amara began to run away and Zuki chased her as quickly as she could, but her legs her tiring quickly. "Amara wait!!!" It didn't take long for all her surroundings to disappear. She was in a dark void where only Amara's tears could be heard. Zuki yelled out Amara's name. "It's okay Amara.... you can talk to me..." her voice full of worry and concern for her new friend. She found Amara crouched down crying. Zuki slowed down her pace. As she got closer she could see something dark and sinister trying to consume her light. "A-amara!!!" Zuki yelled out desperately she needed to warn her. On the other side of this void she could hear her name being spoken. She shook her head. She couldn't listen to the other voice. She had to save Amara. She needed to let her know she was in danger. The other voice got louder. It was familiar. It was Jodan's. Perhaps he could help. Before Zuki was able to do much more she felt a forceful yank. It woke her up. She had been holding onto Amara's arm. She rubbed her eyes as she heard both Amara's and Jodan's voice frantically around her. She was still groggy and couldn't quite put together what was going on.

As her memory began to collect itself and remind her where she was she picked herself up and quickly began collecting her belongings. It was quite clear they were both in some sort of distress. Her dream began to blur. It was going up in smokes. The one thing that she couldn't get out of her head was the demonic aura that surrounded Amara. She took a quick glimpse of the girl. She seemed to be panicking looking for something perhaps Zuki could help. Establish a bond. Then again Jodan looked like he was in disarray. She took a deep breath and as loudly as she could. "Is there anyway I can help?"

Ichka made her way through the town when she caught a whiff of her curious little doll. It seemed she would be running into her constantly. It didn't take long for her to realize the dragon following Ophelia with the kind of glare he was projecting at her. Her eyebrow arched, impressed of what little Ophelia had subdued. Ichka's gold eyes met with the dragons. Curiosity written all over her face. She didn't falter at his gaze she was just as consistent looking back at him. Disgust written all over his face. Was she offended? Definitely but she wasn't gonna show that. Instead she winked at him and sent him a big air kiss as she looked away and continued on her merry way.

Ichka looked around the city. She needed to spot some potential somewhere. After all her home would need to be built here for her plan to work.
