tab Mishe glossed over the table filled with some snacks grabbed from cafeteria as well as yesterday's spoils gained after the excruciatingly boring, brain numbing walk around campus that was Orientation day. Was it really all worth it? She counted five rare candies, four pokeballs, one greatball and one pokedazzler, whatever that was. "Better than nothing I guess," she said with a heavy sigh. She really couldn't afford to be picky in the most literal sense of the word; she was now out of her so-called parents lives and that meant they no longer had to put on airs by publicly showing care and affection towards her which ultimately meant no more living and financial assistance for her. Luckily for her, the school paid for food, housing, books for classes, and uniforms, but most Pokemon items had to be paid out of pocket. The academy did offer students jobs to help students get used to the real world or something like that. It was probably another obnoxious attempt at forced socialization if you asked Mishe. As weird as a system she found it to be, she was honestly thankful that that was all she had to worry about getting, though she absolutely hated the fact that she needed this place's help for anything.
tab Scanning the room that was the cafeteria, Mishe saw that the place was practically deserted; something that she had hoped for really. She had expected that most if not all of the student body would be at the club fair and that was be expected as well. The annoying rule of having to join at least one club would make attending the club fair and obligation. The redhead really wasn't having all this forced socialization nor the fact that she had to wear a costume as well. Some Mudsdale manure about appeasing the spirits on Spirit day which just so happened to be today of all freaking days. She really didn't want to dress up and she almost didn't, but Roo and Méta's begging for her to buy all three of them matching horns had convinced her otherwise. It was rare that they ever asked for anything, but ever since they came to the academy they had become more vocal with their wants. Her horns in particular still had the price-tag on, not really caring about its obvious presence. It wasn't like she cared about her reputation, not anymore anyway.
tab Now one would ask, why would Mishe be in the cafeteria knowing full well the importance of the club fair? Well for one thing, the Kingdra student despised crowds and the last thing she wanted to do was be in them. Secondly, she highly doubted any of the clubs this school had to offer would really interest her, unless there was a free money club, so there was no need for thorough research on the matter. And finally and most pettily of all, just the idea of being forced to join a club made her not want to take the event seriously and with no Pokemon items promised for participation, why should she? But the fact of the matter was that she did have to join at least one club by the end of the day, lest she gets punished or even kicked out of the academy. She wouldn't put it past the school to maintain their 'prestige.' Her plan for today was to wait it out until the crowds died down, pop into each club to make sure that she was seen not skipping the event, ask the president how many members were in the club(and maybe ask them other throw away questions to feign interest) and join the one with the least amount of people in case that attending club meetings was also an obligation. She wanted to talk to the least amount of people as possible if she could help it. With that plan in place, she just had to play the waiting game... Staying in her stuffy dorm wasn't an option so she opted for a place she could grab a bite to eat. "Ugh... Another long day..." she said to herself with one hand scrolling through her smartphone and some beef jerky in the other, totally unaware that her pokemon who supposedly went back to the food area of the cafeteria, got curious about the fair and left for the area.
