This is year 80 of the Cosmic Era. The world has changed completely. After just one year from the end of the Second Bloody Valentine war came more conflict between the PLANTS and Earth, despite the best efforts for peace from both sides. The OMNI forces had completed their next tool of war, not a deadly new mobile suit or super weapon to destroy the plants with, but rather ALICE. Assistant Logistical and Interception Computation Extension. This device was installed into OMNI's mobile suits after a design influenced by DSSD's AI on the stargazer gundam, and while not a perfect design it could perform its duty. The ALICE device isn't a perfects machine, to be used it requires a neural connection with a natural pilot, using data from Logo's Pergrande mobile armor.

This system allowed natural pilots to be on par, and even superior to coordinators in mobile suit combat depending on the pilot's combat data. With this system, OMNI defended its assets against increasing coordinator terrorist attacks lead by either Zala or Durandal loyalists, and was subsequently used by hidden Logos members to attack civilian locations populated by coordinators. These attacks began to stack up, with colonies beginning to separate from the PLANTS, their citizen's demands for justice unanswered by Lacus Clyne. Entire EA nations protested as debris came down upon them, pushed by infuriated and rogue coordinators. The nations began to shatter, but the final flame was just about to be lit.

It was called the Three Day war. On the first day, a splinter PLANT used its military force to destroy all six mass drivers on Earth, the major protests from the Earth nations demanded Zaft handle its own colonies or there would be another war. Lacus Clyne still promoted peace, and by the end of the second day, OMNI was mobilized. Using all its forces, they pushed for the rogue colony, while Zaft commanders saw it as an attack on their nation and mobilized against the council's orders. Every major force in the world was deployed in the battle, either to defend itself or avenge its people. On the third day, calamity happened. Despite best efforts from every side, 4 colonies that splintered from the PLANTS were eradicated, and knocked out of their orbit, fell on the Earth with influence from Zaft forces.

The Earth faced a fate worse than the Break the World incident, and the remaining EA forces in space pushed for the now weakened plants in a final push, with Orb forces now trying to intervene officially. The resulting battle was devastating, several colonies were rendered uninhabitable, more were damaged to the point of near collapse, no machine left the field without a limp, and nearly every influential figure was found missing, even Chairman Lacus Clyne. When all ships finally returned, and the fate of the world was seen, captains began claiming themselves as warlords, gathering up military forces and staking lands on earth and the moon. The Earth had lost 60% of its population, nations fell and the world went quiet as the sun rose...

This is 5 years into the aftermath...
