Why was Apibom moving away? The movement startled Sephos, and he did the same. What was he supposed to do here? He opted to put his hands up, in case the other troll attacked. That sounded about right.

Out of the corner of his eye, Sephos saw that some of the trolls around them were leaving in disgust. That suited him just fine. What didn't suit him well at all was a blueblooded troll that was now closer. He couldn't see the expression on his face -- it would have been meaningless to Sephos, to some degree -- but the aura that this troll gave off made him uncomfortable.

In that moment, he wanted to get out of the ring.

Spectators were leaving- which was both a relief and also a little embarrassing... then again, they hadn't exactly started doing this to put on a show. The work didn't count if they didn't actually try, though. Api was getting so, so tired. They wanted to just call it quits but they'd been at this too long to give up now! They kept their distance from Sephos, trying to think of a good way to lock the bigger troll down for a tap out or something.

Sephos really didn't like the way the other troll was looking at them. He didn't need to look back to know that he was being watched, there was no mistaking that feeling of being pinned down by unrelenting awareness.

Sephos moved forward, away from the other troll, and threw a punch. It hit, the impact making his arm ache, but it was a tolerable ache.

The instructor called out a little advice about his punching form, but Sephos was only half listening.

Api couldn't tell exactly who the instructor was trying to address, but they followed the advice anyway. The punch seemed to feel a little better this time, albeit not very strong. They were tired, and really, really wanted to go back to their hive for a good cup of tea or something. Anything to not be in the center of attention this way. This was just plain uncomfortable.

Sephos felt himself attempt the counterattack before he realized he was. He'd had these reflexive moves before, and sometimes people got upset. He was the upset one this time, though, and he really wanted to get out of this ring. So enclosed, so hot, so stuffy... He wanted to get outside to the garden, as soon as possible.

Exhaustion was starting to set in- Sephos hadn't really hit that hard, but they ended up stumbling back a few steps, taking in deep breaths. They really, really wanted to go lie down somewhere and take a nap. Maybe after a shower, or something.

Outside the ring, someone was telling them to get back at it.

Sephos felt his focus narrow even as the loud slamming of the gym door sounded just outside of it and the coach tried to offer advice.

Advantage.

Press it.

Sephos only vaguely heard that advice -- instead, he moved forward. If he pushed Apibom to the ropes, maybe he could figure out a way to have them both go home...? Out of the ring made it done, right?

Api found themself being driven back toward the ropes, they struggled to keep up as exhaustion made it hard to stay on the defense. What if they just... slipped outside the ring? That would end it...right? They'd never be able to come back to this gym that was certain but it just might be worth it.

"Hey you!"

Sephos didn't turn around, though the voice was insitent... or tried to be. "Catch, you big lug!" Sephos ducked on instinct as something flew at him, spattering on the floor of the ring.

He spared it a glance - it was a colorful packet of sauce, and it smelled... caustic.

Sephos looked to the side to see that a few of the observers had returned, grinning widely and carrying packets of sauce.

"Hey! Stop it!" the teacher protested, only to be blocked by a few of the highbloods.

"Come on. one of them said, and Sephos, wide eyed, glanced at Apibom uneasily. "We're just trying to spice things up. These two idiots can't fight for s**t.

Oh, oh jeez. They just could not handle this. "I--I'm really sorry--" They summoned every last bit of strength they had in them to knock Sephos' leg out from under him, hoping to pin him down for a forfeiture. They wanted out of this ring and out of this gym as quickly as possible.

SEPHOS LOSES



Sephos toppled like, well, a tree.

"Finally, the lowblood did something..." grumbled one of the onlookers, before the teacher managed to shoo them away. They nodded quickly and blew their whistle, ending the fight.

Exhausted, Sephos sat up but did not stand, looking out at the gym almost balefully. Roots and shoots, he wanted to be out of here.

He gave Apibom a tired nod, then nodded to the teacher as well as their instructor gave each of them a YTMA certificate of completion. He only half-listened to the advice the troll gave him as he staggered out, through the doors, through the halls, and into the fresh(er) air of the small park outside.
