Welcome to the Terror Night party! Odette Cygnet, famed singer, and Eostre Diazzi, the Empress' own vice-captain have recently cemented their matespritship, and in line with their interests decided to throw a lavish Terror Night party in Odette's penthouse.

A beautiful, multistory hive with wide windows, Odette's penthouse screams her aesthetics. Delicate reds, pinks and golds accent the hive. It's open and bright, with a greenhouse and pigeon-rehab area, among other things.

Decorated to the nines in appropriately classy and holiday-themed decor, with a fully catered holiday menu, guests are free to wander and mingle, play games, listen to the live band, and speak to the hostesses if they like! There is a small bar set up for older trolls who would like a drink. The two women are dressed in adorably matching flapper outfits, red for Odette and blue for Eostre, and they can be found mingling among the guests when not at each other's side.

Security is maintained with a few spare drones, who help escort guests to the penthouse from the outside. Should your troll be on the wrong side of the law, never fear! It is a costume party! If your troll is sufficiently in costume or masked and disguised from obvious notice, they should pass without incident in Odette's hive, despite military presence. Children are requested to be accompanied by their lusus for their own safety.

Please quote zeflamigo if your troll would like to snoop around Odette's hive or talk to her! Please quote purplerosesbeauty if your troll would like to talk to Eostre!

Apple bobbing!
What would Terror Night be without at least one mirthful game? There is a large basin in one of the set up party rooms with many apples floating in the water. Maybe you can grab some! A small pile of towels stand by, out of courtesy.
Roll a d12 and check your results below!

1. Oh, almost! The apple slipped from your mouth just as you pulled your head out of the basin.
2. A tiny decorative pumpkin! How thematically appropriate! You wonder how it got in there.
3. You pull out your apple, a little disappointed to see how small it was. Maybe it's a crabapple?
4. You dunk your head into the basin and nearly choke realizing this isn't water, it's LaMoixde! This party is so fancy...
5. You pull out an apple with ease, although you know you look a little silly doing it.
6. You feel like you almost have an apple, but slip and fall into the basin. Oof!
7. Oh! Oh! A tiny pumpkin! Not an apple but it's so cute you don't even feel bad.
8. The LaMoixde in the basin is ice cold - it must have just been changed! You shiver as you try to grab an apple.
9. A delicious, sweet apple is all yours.
10. You confidently dunk your head into the basin and come up with an apple immediately. You've shown everyone how to do it.
11. You keep trying, but it seems like the apple...isn't real? Your teeth can't get a good grip!
12. Huh? You seemed to pull out someone's wristwatch. Um, well. Finder's keepers?

"Hey redblood." Regina didn't really dress up often. Sure she wore the standard 'flashy seadweller' clothes, and some would argue that parts of her regular day wear counted as entire outfits by themselves, but at the end of the day she chose clothing that was, to her, practical, comfortable, and aggressively no nonesense. Tonight, she was trying something new. Approaching Odette and Eostre through the crowds, her entire ensemble dripped with pearls. Of course she was going to be here. Of course. How could she not.

"I'd ask you to dance, but I suspect you're already taken care of tonight." The greeting was a throwback to the first time they met, adjusted for the presence of Eostre. She hadn't expected the blueblood to be the one to get into Odette's inner circle, that had been Tagino's job. But when you send a redblood to do a blueblood's job .... the blueblood ends up doing it in the end. Or whatever the saying was.

"Either way. Great to see you, and all your friends here tonight."

Hey, redblood.

The greeting elicited no immediate reaction from Odette. She earnestly didn’t think she was being addressed. Who would refer to her by anything other than her name, at her own party? Such phrasing felt so unusual now, it was old and unfamiliar. Despite her fondness for her youth, being addressed by her blood was a forgotten feature of the starlet's past.

Still, Odette was keen to the sensation of being talked to. Her attention diverted from the partygoer she was in a conversation with, line of sight turning towards the direction of the sound. When she didn't immediately see a source of the voice, she looked down to find the Queen herself, decked out in pearly regalia. Ah.

So her RSVP was genuine, and not just polite. She was thankful that Eostre had ordered so many drones, then. Fluttering her eyelashes, Odette addressed the Queen with professional cordiality.

"Your highness! Such a pleasure to see you; it's an honor to have you attend!" Odette clasped her hands together, holding them close to her chest. "You look absolutely divine," She complimented, genuinely loving the costume. Pearls were always one of Odette's favorite accessories.

She giggled at Regina's dance invitation, sidling closer to Eostre. Internally, she tsk'ed. The queen's indifference was infuriating, and the implication that she could have cared annoyed her even more. Still, Odette was careful to not let that crack in her shell show, glancing down at her lovely matesprit as distraction.

After getting some more giggles out, Odette returned her attention to Regina. "Well, it would be rude to have the queen be a wallflower at our party. If there's a troll that fits your fancy, give the name and I'll have it arranged." She promised with a wink, smiling cutely.

"You'll likely find more of Eostre's company here tonight, perhaps Aandes'..." Odette admitted with a giggly sort of sigh, putting her hands to her blushing cheeks. She didn't have many connections that extended beyond her professional life. Ganyma? She had to expand the net pretty far. The party was practically open invitation, just with a fancy dress code and military drones as bouncers.

"It's funny... Even with so many eyes on you, it can be hard to make actual connections." Odette glanced back at Eostre with fondness, thankful for the blueblood's company. Even Eostre was a special case, a connection Odette made before her rise to fame. Part of her wondered if that connection would have changed, if not for their long history.

As Odette's attention slipped away, Eostre followed her gaze to Regina, whom she was eye level with. She smiled, her hands clasping together in a mirror of Odette's actions. "Lovely to see you, Regina. You look incredible as always," she said, voice bright and peppy. The sky itself - a fitting costume for their queen, whose empire would soon expand beyond the stars again.

Her matesprit moved closer and Eostre put her gloved hand on the small of her back, resting it there comfortably. "When you have to hold others at an arm's length, they can't come much closer," she murmured. Hypocritical to say herself, as she was that way as well. But the life of a celebrity meant boundaries, just as much as life as a spy and military officer.

Beyond that, the interaction between Regina and Odette was... curious. Eostre was careful, and even more so around the queen. “I’m sure if there’s anything you’d like I can see to it, Regina.”

Aconan readjusted her mask, which was kept in place by her horns, and took a deep breath. The invitation had been open, and the drone leading her up to the penthouse was certainly a sign she wasn’t being thrown out. It’s just, she felt a little…..wild. Oh don’t get her wrong, part of that was deliberate - after all, it was a terror night party, so she’d gone to the nines to try and dress up appropriately….but part of it was the fact she didn’t generally attend such parties. But this was such an opportunity - Eostre would be there! THE Eostre Diazzi, Vice-Captain to the Empress herself! Aconan had no illusions she would actually get to speak to Eostre, being a mere greenblood - and on the lower hemotype of green at that - but to mingle among military trolls (and she supposed other celebrities) well. It was bound to help boost her eventual military career. She was determined.

Her mask hung over the top of her head and face, a partial howlbeast skull she’d scavenged then painted black, and even found some luminous paint and black buckram fabric to make creepy glowing green eyes she could still see through. Her usual stuffed tail had been replaced with a spookier one (black and hemo-green), and she’d sewn dyed fur to fake-ripped clothes. In truth, anyone who knew Aconan wouldn’t be surprised one iota that she’d gone with a werehowlbeast as her costume. It suited her to a T, and if they knew her they’d know she already had enough furs and such to make the costume easily. Which she had.

As she entered the room, Loupsus padding along beside her, his large frame dwarfing the young troll, she couldn’t help looking around. The place was beautiful, stunning. Aconan wasn’t really a connisseur of….anything, and her own decorating style was distinctly feral in nature, but she could appreciate the high-class hive for what it was.

Surreptitiously, she double-checked her boots for mud, even though she knew she’d wiped them at the door.

"Diazzi, my girl, I'm sure you can!" Regina gave Eostre a hearty slap on the shoulder, pulling back from it being too aggressive and turning it into more of a pat. Fancy part, and all that. Still with one hand resting lightly on the blueblood's arm, she looked around the room, looking for faces she recognized in the crowd. "Dancing though? Nah nah nah - I'm here tonight as an ambassador. Of peace, or, whatever. Consider me your official, one night only, on hire Auspice."

She looked from Eostre to Odette, giving them both a quick eyebrow wiggle. "I know you got your quadrants on lock Diazzi, but our heartthrob here - I'm sure you got your fans who don't know when to quit." She didn't know if Kursha would be showing up, but it was a nice excuse to get to hover around random guests, checking them to see if the would be 'causing trouble for Odette'. And if he did, then she could monopolize all his time, under the guise of talking him down from strangling a celebrity in public. Yeah, she was all on board with being the 'selfless' troll for one night. "So I'm just here to ensure your night goes by without any troubles." Winking, she flashed the ok sign.

Mihail shuffled in through the entrance, one hand clasped with Knetic's, feeling a little bit like perhaps he should've suggested a different activity for the two of them to do. He was pretty sure that neither of them were going to know anyone present, but it seemed like the polite thing to do - showing up to a party when invited, that is. That and Terror Night themed gatherings were one of his favorites.

Knetic had picked their costumes- the two of them were wearing matching crocodile onesies, warm and convenient since they also had pockets. Somewhere. He felt around for one with his free hand, then stuffed it inside as they made their way further in to the hive. "I-if it's buh--boring we'll uh, go do something e-e-else." He glanced back to Knetic - who wasn't as keen on attending as Mihail had been.

"Suh--sound good? Oh, luh-look, there's games. We could pl--play?" He nodded to the apple bobbing station. That might make things more... interesting? He didn't expect that either of them would be interacting with the party's hosts- they were much older and much higher ranked in society. But, who knew.

Odette wanted to laugh. So they had the world's most expensive bodyguard on call tonight? For her? No, Regina probably wanted to cover for her other captains, all three of which were ill-tempered aside from Eostre. Perhaps that was the funniest thing to Odette. Byakko didn't need to babysit her advisors.

As incredulous as Odette was, she still maintained her polite, charmed smile. She'd accept the offer gleefully, as it was still an honor to be in the Queen's presence.

"That's so kind of you, your majesty, thank you! With your assistance and so many drones, I can only imagine the night will go by as smooth as punkin pie." She giggled with a tiny smile, head tilting ever so cutely.

Eostre was sure she knew which fans Regina was talking about - her matesprit had some weird, tumultuous encounters with her fellow teammates enough to be an issue. She wouldn't make this offer for just any crazed fan. But between Eostre herself and the Queen... well, the trolls she was thinking about would have to back down if they tried to cause trouble. The queen's ulterior motive... she'd just have to accept the offer. It'd be in her best interest anyway. There was a party to host, after all.

"Thank you, Regina. I appreciate your help. You're a good friend," she said with a smile, her hand on her cheek gently. Polite and composed, with gratitude in her voice. "I've got no desire to get pulled from my quadrant, so keeping the trouble down will be lovely." She glanced up at Odette, and then back to Regina.

Polair walked through the entrance as confident as she always felt. Or trying to at least. As every outing date night got her feeling all sorts of things. Plus, this was organized none other than two influential women in Alternia, so skipping this soirée was a big no. Claude had urged her to attend, thinking she could mingle and meet new trolls and ditch others that weren't just that influential. In other words, ditch the yellow blood she kissed during PROM.

Joke's on him though. Engrav was her date tonight, and she couldn't imagine any other troll she'd like to spend time with right now. They had been seeing each other for some time now, in a totally different scenario. Either doing professional work at the lab, going to his hive or sneaking him inside hers... If she thought too much about it Polair wouldn't be able to keep up with everything else.

The highblood had dressed up for the costume party and attempted to keep up with the theme they had both agreed on-- mad scientist and their undead creation. Of course the highblood gave it her own personal touch while she adapted her biological makeup to the costume. Black two piece swimsuit, a two piece harness with gold pieces that kept both parts of her costume in place, waterproof make up to mimic different shades of skin and stitches, a pair of earrings with golden Bolts on the end of each and more golden ring because this was an undead sea dweller. Polair took a hold of Engrav's hand with a smile and wondered how was he feeling. She knew he didn't like to attract much attention and, honestly, her presence never helped but she'd try to avoid any unnecessary spotlights if she had to.

"I'm glad we're in this together. Wouldn't be the same without you. How are you holding up? Want me to get us some drinks?" She said. The only bad thing about public events was the fact that there was nothing she could do to keep everything under control. Nothing planned out or any possible outcomes to predict. Still, this was going to be a night to remember.

Engrav Setlar

Engrav knew, in the back of his thinkpan, that this was just the kind of thing that Polair would attend without a second thought. It made sense for her, keeping up her public image, but as they grew closer and closer to the, the... soirée... he felt himself grow more and more nervous. There was a delicate line for the yellowblood to walk here. He had to appear just interesting enough to continue to hold the superstar's attention, yet just incredibly boring enough to not attract any of his own.

At the very least, he would have felt much more comfortable with Morrimom around.

The first pair of drones the two of them passed made Engrav anxious. The second made him sweat. All he had to do was act like a good lowblood, just for a night. No outbursts of self-importance, no injured pride, nothing that could result in him losing even more limbs than he'd already lost. The inventor pulled at the collar of his lab jacket with a sick expression on his face, giving Polair a long-suffering look. This would be fun, a... a date, something they could laugh about later, but for now, the inventor was exceedingly nervous.

Engrav had decided on a labcoat with some added electrical burns, a pair of rubber gloves and a shock of spiky white hair that looked like it should still have electricity running through it. He certainly didn't have the means for all the gold Polair had added to her costume, but he'd added some glasses that made his eye particularly large and hilarious looking in the hope of spicing the costume up some. They'd barely entered when Engrav caught sight of the guests and he stopped as though he'd hit a brick wall.

Nausea hit him like a physical wave as he realized who the guests were. Engrav was so far out of his depth. Blood managed to rush back to his thinkpan just in time to hear Polair say something about drinks. "Er! Yes! I mean, I'll come with you! Ahahaha. I'm fine, all fine."

Oh gog, that was the Empress, of all people.

The inventor managed to stumble in Polair's wake as they found their way to a table of drinks. At least it wasn't likely anyone would recognize him behind all that makeup and glasses and wig. "I'm, uh, holding up fine. Thank you. I guess I'm just feeling a tiny bit... starstruck?" he said in a quiet voice to the seadweller, but he knew that wasn't even a little bit true. He knew this feeling and it certainly wasn't awe.

It was terror.

      Detective Kursha Vidari

From the start, Engrav's plan was doomed to fail. No matter how good his costume, how much he tried to keep to the background, he neglected one important factor. Not that he could have known anyway.

Kursha Vidari never forgot a face. And Engrav's was pretty unforgettable as it was.

“Pretty good joke there,” Kursha said from behind the couple. Hands in his pockets and pipe in his mouth, he joined the yellowblood in eyeing the empress across the room, though with a decidedly less concerned expression. After a moment, he turned to face the yellowblood and his companion, grinning.

“How's it going, One-Punch? Long time, no see.” He gave the former a friendly punch in the shoulder. “I like the nerd get-up. No, no. Don't worry about returning the favour. I'd rather stay in one piece, thanks. So, who's the fish?* You actually blind or is that part of the costume? Captain Vidari by the way.”

He would have offered a hand to the seadweller, but the red colouration in her eyes looked real enough that he thought the better of it. He had dressed up as Sherlo Kholms—a not so subtle dig at the host—complete with houndstooth jacket, deerstalker cap, pipe, and boot knife.

What? Boot knives made everything better.

Truth be told however, Kursha would be refraining from any real investigation. No, the true sleuth of the evening would be Sarcel Cincil. With her boring a** personality, social ineptitude, and invisibility powers, she made the perfect rat to go sneaking around. And while she dug around for information, Kursha would do what he did best: make a scene and divert everyone's attention.

*Unfortunately, the greenblood paid little attention to pop culture figures aside from those he inevitably planned to murder/snog. Fortunately Polair met neither of those requirements.

Static Charge

The blueblood hesitated at the door, debating if he should really join the party. He looked down at his costume, it was a comic book superhero, and felt regret. Well, too late now. He had come because he was sure more military trolls would be here, and it seemed professional to go. Not to mention he needed some time away from his own solitude. It had been a sweep at least, but the blueblood could still not get a particular brownblood out of his head, and it was better to go to something than sit in the dark and think.

He took a deep breath and walked in. A look of relief crossed his face as he recognized a few trolls. Polair, everyone knew her, not that he had ever really met her. Kursha? Static put on a weak smile. Of course Kursha was here. He was both excited to see the greenblood and worried about what sort of thing would end up happening. And Engrav, they had been on a ship together, and although they hadn't become close, the blueblood thought well of the yellowblood.

Since their time together at the haunted hive, Static felt more comfortable with Kursha than he really was with any other high ranking military troll. Static approached the trio of trolls and smiled a hello. "Engrav, good to see you again." He held out a hand to the seadweller, and introduced himself. "Polair, right? Hello, im Static." His hand hung in the air as he realized that the seadweller was blind, and he awkwardly used it to instead adjust his goggles. He nodded, then saluted the older greenblood. "A pleasure to see you again Captain. I, um i like the costume."

Not to say he isn't excited for a terror night party, he just wasn't the keenest on a terror night party possible, or definitely, crawling with military folk. Knetic could think of many things he could be doing with his best friend that didn't involve more nonsense drawing him into the military's clutches but he wasn't going to deny a request from Mihail. Especially not when he made so little to begin with.

He squeezes Mihail's hand in solidarity and puts on his widest grin. They'd have fun tonight even if it killed him. Which was a very real possibility when he spots that the empress her ******** self has decided to pay a visit. Time to reign in that mouth of yours, Knetic or surely you'll never speak again.

"Games are always fun! See any in particular you wanna jump into first?" Yes. make this night all about Mihail, it's his time to shine and hopefully it'll be a nice relaxing evening in some seriously comfy gator onsies. He's going to make this happen for his friend.
