Teykali wasn't really the bravest of stallions, his small size often made him a bit of a target, but there was a rumor of some strange serpent, and now...well he wanted nothing more than to assist in defeating the creature. His smaller stature was a benefit as he was sneaky, careful, and with all that he'd learned...hopefully he'd be able to really get in and do some damage. Likely he'd be banged up, but this would be worth it.
He wanted nothing more than to prove to himself that he was just as capable as any other stallion, especially so that he could protect the family he'd found. Topper was his treasure, a most beloved partner who'd been there for him while his memory was lost. Now...now he would prove himself to be capable, and well trained.
Teykali stepped into the clearing where the Serpent resided, glimmering green and vicious purple greeted him, horrifying and enchanting all at once. He would defeat this serpent, or make a fool of himself. He sighed internally as he waited for his designated partner to arrive. It was a test of courage for others, but for Teykali it was proof of concept. He smirked to himself, if Topper knew he was doing this , she'd likely have insisted on coming along, to make sure he didn't get himself into too much trouble. But that was a thought for another time. Right now he needed to focus, and keep his wits about him, make sure that there was no way he'd walk away without defeating this beast.
The confident yet cocky stallion raced threw the clearing and slid to a stop in the way he made his entrance it was almost as if he was showing off his fiery mane was rippling behind him as the wind blew past him, he looked to his partner in battle and gave a smirk, he was eager to fight and take down the beast before them, " So this is the serpent hu? doesn't look scary as I imagined." he said standing up straight his hooves scratching at the ground eagerly as he huffed in it's direction dismissively before looking to his partner. " You ready for a good battle buddy?" he asked cheerfully far to confident in his ability but also courageous and daring enough to try he stood there and ready himself ready to charge in despite the fact he wasn't really much of an armed fighter but magical. he held his head up high yelling to the serpent. " come on show me what you got!" he said before recklessly charging in to battle.

There was an abrupt introduction, and a sudden charge. Teykali didn't have time to think any further as his teammate for this adventure was suddenly bounding off into battle against the giant serpent, who looked like it wouldn't have an issue coiling around and choking the ever-loving life out of both of them.
Without another moment to hesitate he followed at a good pace making sure that he was going to be in range for what damage he could do, he wasn't defenseless by any means, but he hoped his partner would be someone who could hold his own rather than someone he'd have to drag out of the fight unconscious. This was not your normal serpent, it was a poisonous vicious eater of anything that didn't get the hell out of its way.
He silently hoped that this would be over quick and they could be on their way sooner rather than later, but as he got a closer look at the serpent, he felt that this was going to be much more problematic and painful than he'd originally thought.
Taking a deep breath he yelled towards his partner, "HEY! Are you a fighter, or a caster type?" If the flaming idiot who'd charged headlong into battle was a caster, that meant that Teykali would have to be the one keeping the very large and now somewhat annoyed looking serpent occupied. Well, he did have a decent way of annoying the hell out of it, so rather than wait too long for an answer, he shouted loudly at the serpent, and found that it was now entirely focused on him as he rounded towards the back to try and keep its attention on him rather than on his partner. Apparently, he'd decided to be the damage tank.
as he charged in to battle he found some high grounds nearest to the surpant. Trying his best to stay out of reach . trying bwing thw keyword. The fooliah stalion reddied for an attack as he head his battle companion call out to him. This distracted him for the time being . bad moove letting himself get distracted while attempting to cast a spell. His mouth open wide as flames roard within his mouth he gazed over looking at Teykali befor he knew it the flames eruped from his mouth naroly missing the serpant only taking a minor burn he retreated closer to Teykali "I'm a caster" he said feeling a bit less confadent now. He galoped. Back away from the serpant. Drawing back till he could come up with a better plan of attack and maybey not be such a dunce.

He saw the fire breath that missed and barely scorched a few scales, the knowledge that this was no longer just a small issue, but one far larger. Casters were hard to keep out of trouble, but a caster could do decent damage if things went well.
He didn't speak as Icarus moved back allowing for the stallion to breath and focus suddenly a surge of power and energy, with more confidence than he'd had at the start, he let loose a mighty charge, slamming into the serpent at a full tilt. He felt the sting of his impact, sudden and vicious, but managed to avoid getting trapped in the coils of his foe.
That had pissed it off. It wasn’t like he had enough force to knock it off kilter, butt it wasn’t looking quite as spry as it had when they’d started the encounter.
He shouted while the thing reared back, “Get a hit quick, if you’ve got a bigger fire ball please use it now!!” He was trying to keep the thing distracted from his partner, keeping well away from it as he went. He hadn’t expected the poison, a small scratch hitting from the fangs as it launched at Icarus striking him and then flipped to viciously hit Teykali. He felt woozy from the effects, and took a deep breath, he could feel something burning in his veins and he hoped he would be able to sustain himself through all of his despite the pain he was suffering from now. If only he could find another opening.
he huffed as he tried to focus hoping his next attack wouldn't be his last he felt poison surge threw his body as he stepped back looking to prepare his attack he took this opportunity to charge his attack as Teykali charged in to do his own attack, fire roared within the stallions mouth once more,with a blast of power from his mouth the flames shot out fire surging up on his body the flames blasted against the serpent's body Icarus stomped his hooves and rejoiced, the attack wasn't as powerful as he had hoped but half of his full power.
being able to do this much at all made the confident stallion gleeful like a child " heck yeah " he shouted but soon his body ached and he shifted cringing from the poison in his body, he spoke to soon to be excited." man that poisons no joke" he said withdrawing back to take an easy till he could make another attack he had a plan to fallow up is partners next attack with a charge of his own.

Teykali saw the flames do far more damage this time, and he was a bit taken aback by the fact the fire could do much more damage than he previously thought. Several scales had curled up and burned off the Serpent now, the creature raging rather than staying calm.
He took a chance and went in for another attack, but this time he glanced off the creature, knocking a few scales of it's pelt loose, but not doing much more. He tried to avoid getting smacked by the tail, but failed and got knocked hard again. He was beginning to feel a bit like a stone being kicked around by this thing.
The serpent swept its tail and smacked Icarus as well. Would they manage to get through this? Was this going to be their end? There had to be a way to get through this without losing to the overgrown snake. If only it weren't so large...or armored. Teykali stood his ground and shouted at the thing louder, wanting to be sure that it had all it's attention on him, and not on his partner. The real damage was going to come from his caster, and he just needed to tick this thing off at him more. "HEY, SCALE FACE!!" It reared at him, deeply evil looking eyes narrowing, "YEAH, UGLY. THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?" It snarled and focused solely on Teykali now.
Was this a good idea? Not in the slightest, would it keep his partner from getting hit again? Hopefully.
Icarus prepared him self for something he had never done before, he had the fire power sure, but could he pull it off?, he charged in full speed heading towards the high grounds once more to get a good look and aim, his flames fissile slightly with the pain but roared back up in to a strong flame he opened his mouth as wide as he could while the fire within him built up and with a few short burst he fired 3 balls of fire, they hurdled and smacked the serpent in the chest, the head and the abdomen confident as he watched the serpent writhe in pain he lifted hoof and pointed it at the beast " take that! serves you right" he said and smirked triumphantly. only to run seeing the tail coming down towards him " crap crap crap!" Icarus yelled as he ran for the hills skidding slightly much like a frightened cat.

He'd been impressed for a few moments at the larger attack the other stallion had thrown in. that was definitively the smell of cooking snake flesh. He wasn't sure if it was supposed to be appetizing, or if it was the nastiest thing he'd ever smelled. He found himself in awe for a moment, and prepared his next attack.
As he was about to charge in and hit the serpent again, he was distracted by Icarus bolting away and attempting to avoid the tail that was working on smacking him despite how worse for ware the serpent looked. It was angry, and he was running like a cat who'd been caught doing something bad.
This distraction caused his footing to be less sure, and without sure footing, he tripped over a rock and collided his face into the serpent. Still damage inflicted, but he also cause himself just a bit more, leaving him far more open as the tail that had slapped Icarus not once, but twice as he retreated, slammed around him causing shooting pain and his head to get fuzzy. This Was not the best way for things to go, but as he took a breath and extricated himself from beside the serpent the vile thing looked even more the worse for wear. There was a small chance, and he hoped that Icarus had something up his sleeve that would help them finish the dratted thing off. Teykali did not want more damage than he'd already gotten with this blasted thing.
Icarus was retreating back far away but he managed to get nipped in the butt in the process just as he thought he was done with poison he flopped over slapping his tail against the wound stupid idea but the heat of his tail soothed the pain at least for the time being " holly heck that stings" he groaned and skittered over out of the way to look back seeing his partner only do minor damage, with the poison and as much damage as they had already taken Icarus wasn't willing to chance there lives, as derby as he was, he pulled out the whistle and blew, the sound of the whistle echoed threw the area as the foreman came down to attack ending the life of the serpent, Icarus trotted about " aw yeah we did it! we got them." he said happily though he hadn't done nothing more but called for aid, such a crazy stallion he is.

Serpent: 0 (DEAD AS A DAMN DOORNAIL)
There was a whistle, loud and clear, and the forgemaster came hauling down, smiting the serpent who was now, for lack of better description, a smear in the field. He took a deep breath. They probably could have finished off the serpent without too much trouble. He was after planning to blind the thing, but the point was moot now.
He snorted at Icarus and his jubilation, he felt like crap, and the poison finally wore off. At least it wasn't some sort of rotting corpse type poison, and now well now he could go get his armor and then go freakin' relax. Good lord, how did he ever come to think this was a good idea.
He breathed carefully, "Alright, let's get out of here and get our gold, get our forge things and get the hell out of this madness." He smirked, "I need a long hot bath somewhere far, far away from this place. With no more creatures."
Teykali was sure of at least one thing, he did NOT desire to be an adventurer for the rest of his life. Maybe now and then, but this was more than enough for the time being. Although he had a sneaking suspicion that perhaps this insane stallion he'd met would be causing him more trouble in the future. He realized without much thought, he never caught the name of the other, "Oh yeah, I'm Teykali by the way. Nice to meet you, partner." He laughed as they made their way out of the forest and on towards other things.
