Skuld and Eier found the festival and were intrigued by the gathering of all different types of Soquili. Skuld wanted to see if they could find any prospects for Valhalla. When they found the forge, they were interested in the quests that he had in exchange for gold. New weapons were always a nice thing to have! Plus, they could test their skills and improve on their strengths. The snake beast is the one Skuld wanted to try her paw at. Snakes were misunderstood but for a reason. Evil liked to take the form of a snake because they were an easy host.

A star covered bird had insisted he come to kill the snake with them. Skuld didn't object since he had been so bent on coming with them. Skuld figured, if he got in the way, that would be his fault. She was not going to protect him at the cost of her own flesh.

Snakes. Why'd it have to be a snake? The idea of getting bit by something venomous didn't sound like a good time to Eier. She didn't show her concern and followed along behind Skuld without hesitation.

"A snake might not be easy to find. They are small. We should not underestimate it though." she knew too well about not judging a foe by it's size. They lived with the stereotype that small things were not as strong. Skuld loved to prove them wrong. Eier didn't care what others thought. She knew her strength! The bird they had met had pandered to their size, saying how strong they looked. Eier could see right through him but didn't mind the temporary company. Maybe he would be a strong warrior, though she doubted it.

Borealis had convinced the two armored mares to let him tag along. He only wanted the gold to add to his shiny collection. He pretended he would be able to fight, but really, he would just stay out of the way if he could.

Skuld 50 / 50 HP
Eier 50 - 8 - 3 = 39 / 50 HP
Snek 40 - 4 = 36 / 40 HP

Borealis gave a screech as they were walking through the forest. He had let the other two take the lead, but he was the one that found their foe! he had practically stepped on its tail. He shuffled his clawed feet and flailed his wings to hop over it. "SNAKE!" he said in a panic, and instinct took over. His plan to not attack something he forgot about. He clawed and jumped about on the snake. It whipped around, just as surprised as he was and wriggled this way and that.

Eier startled at the sound of the bird. He was SO LOUD. How aggravating a sound! Eier's eyes go wide and the wild sight of the snake and the bird dancing about. Using her spear, she takes a stab at it, attempting to hold it in place. She manages to spear just the tail. At least it couldn't escape!

Skuld 50 - 8 - 3 = 39 / 50 HP
Eier 39 / 50 HP
Snek 36 - 8 = 28 / 40 HP

Skuld watched with a grinless face as her sister joined the stranger in starting a battle against The Serpent. Observing for a few moments, before she just jumped into battle. The snake was easily 3 times her length, with a nasty smell of death and decay all about it. Where was the head though? Skuld watched the slippery beast writhe around to try and avoid it's attackers. There. As soon as it showed it's head, Skuld attacked, swinging her sword down hard. She wasn't going to charge in just yet. Better to hold off on expending so much energy at the start of a battle.

Patience pays off, and Skuld lands a critical blow to the serpents head. A soft thud sound is made, as her blade pierces its scales. The beast hisses out in pain and anger.

The Serpant is PISSSSSSSSED. He had been 80% of the way up his tree, when ssssomething had ssssstarted messssssing with his tail. He had fallen half out the tree, and dropped his dinner. NOW, THESE DELICIOUSSS SSSSWEETYSSS WOULD BE HIS DINNER.

The Serpent gets even MORE angry when he got smacked in the head. THAT HURTSSS.

Raising up, he sssstrikes in 2 ssssswift movements, puncturing his fangs into each of the tasty mini'ssss, right where their hind end stuck out. He sssstrikessss and then wrapssss his body around the tasty morsel with the feathersssss. Mmmmm, yessssssssssss.

He arches his head up off the ground, above the ssssharp objectssss of pain that the ssssnacksss have and hisssssesssss at them.

Skuld 39 / 50 HP
Eier 39 - 8 - 3 = 28 / 50 HP
Snek 28 - 8 = 20 / 40 HP

Eier knew this would end with them getting bit!! She winced more when it struck her sister and was half prepared by the time it struck her. The venom moved through her body like a shock wave. Her heart pounded from the toxin.

"Skuld!" she called out as she moved to her sister's side, and used her spear to try and keep the serpent back from them. She thrust again and again, jabbing at its body as it tried to intimidate them with its hight. Nasty thing!

The poor bird would have to either die or wait. Her sister's life was far too valuable to her. If she was going to die, it would only be by her paw, to make sure she made it safely to Valhalla. So by her side, she would stay, in case she needed to deal that final blow herself to her sister's life.

Her spear jabbed the beast well and opened its neck. Black red tar oozed from the wound.

Eier knew Skuld would get serious now.

Skuld 39 - 8 - 3 = 28 / 50 HP
Eier 28 / 50 HP
Snek 20 - 4 - 3 - 3 = 10 / 40 HP

Skuld felt the venom boil through her veins. This could be troublesome if they did not end the fight quick. Skuld was an old soul though and did not fear death. She knew her fate and dreamed of her end. This is not her time.

With a fierce and mighty swing, she rears back and slices at the wound her sister left. Eier moved her spear just in time before Skuld met his flesh. Once her blade kissed the wound with its sharp steel, she gave a battle cry, yelled at her sister. "Eier!" Eier would easily wait for her to give the final blow, but Skuld liked to challenge her twin. She held back just enough, to give her a chance to be the one to give the final stab. "Be sure not to kill him though. he is not worthy of Valhalla." Time ticked by. With her paws, she rips at the wound and uses her shoulder to push the sword in further. They would make him bleed to death, and watch as his life faded. Being sure to have no physical connection to the beast as it bled its last blood of life.

Borealis had fainted when the snake squeezed him. This sucks! He thought as the world went dark. All because he wanted some shiny gold. But at what cost?

{Using a charged attack.}

Skuld 28 / 50 HP
Eier 28 - 8 - 3 = 17 / 50 HP
Snek 10 - 1 - 4 - 7 = DED / 40 HP

Eier is half tempted to step back and dig in her bag for an anti-venom. She really didn't feel good. Hearing her sisters battle cry made her snap back and focus on the task at hand.

As the toxin spread through her body, so did her will to not die here. Though, she wondered why Skuld didn't finish off the snake. Skuld had purposely avoided the bigger organs but made an easy target of them for Eier.

Eier uses her wings to lift up off the ground and thrusts her spear with all her might, right where Skuld wanted her to. Her spear goes through a lung, and out the other side of the snake's body.

Withdrawing her spear, she steps back and waits. This is a mortal blow, from which no beast could survive. If she had wanted to kill him instantly, she would have aimed for the heart...

Skuld 28 - 3 = 25 / 50 HP
Eier 17 - 3 = 14 / 50 HP
Snek DED / 40 HP

Skuld also withdrew her weapon and stood back to watch the life fade from The Serpent. It released the blue and white bird and curled up on itself belly side up. It writhed in a wad of snake and blood, trying to shake off death. It gave a raspy gasp and slowed down its movements. After a moment, it ceased to move anymore. The blood continued to flow from the wound, even after its life was gone.

Skuld wiped her sword on the snake's dinner it had dropped at the start of the battle. It was already dead and served well to clean off her blade with its fur.

Eier looked awful. She fell to the ground. Skuld reached in Eiers bag, and found a bottle of anti-venom. "Looks like I'm the one taking care of you for a change." she said with a loving affection for her sisters curative skills. Skuld popped off the cork with her teeth, and held the bottle up for Eier. Eier tried to protest, wanting Skuld to take the cure first. Skuld looked down at her sword then back to her sister. As if to say, if you don't take this cure, I'm going to have to kill you. Eier complied and gave a sigh. Skuld poured half the bottles contents into Eiers mouth. Eier swallowed. It felt like fire in her throat. She looked longingly and desperately at Skuld. "Calm down." Skuld said to Eier as she drank the rest of the anti-venom. Her sister had obviously wanted her to take the cure first, but Skuld was stronger than she was.

As the toxin subsided in their veins, the two lay there together, in a world of their own. Both high on the success of their battle. Skuld removed her helmet and helped Eier remove hers. They would rest here, till they felt well enough to move on. When Eier regained her strength, she dug in her bag for a salve and used her paw to spread it over Skuld's bite mark from the snake. The salve is a recipe all her own, that helped stop the bleeding and encourage healing. As a bonus, it helped with scaring. Though Skuld still sported quite a few scars. She didn't always let Eier heal her.

"Bird, are you hurt?" she said after she had put the salve on her own wound, without even looking at him.

Borealis had woke up and sat there silently watching the mighty warriors tend to their wounds. It was sweet, and he didn't want to ruin the moment. Plus, he still felt like his insides had been smooshed together... Borealis startled as he was addressed. Guess they knew he had been watching. "Umm, yes, I'm okay. Thank you." He had a name, but it seems they had already forgotten or didn't care.. They really were strong though! He hadn't imagined how strong they were when he had been flattering them with compliments before they took the quest. He felt kind of sheepish, and worthless.

Eier walked over to the snake, close to where the bird lay. "You did well."

Borealis blinked at Eier. Why was she just standing there? he was taken back by her words. He didn't' feel like he had done well at all! "But, I didn't do anything." as he said this, the blue mini motioned at the snake with a paw. Curious. Borealis stood up and hobbled over to where Eier was standing. Looking down, he saw all the claw marks he had made on the scales of the snake before he had been captured in it's coil. He puffed up, so proud to see that he had done damage!

"With training, you could be a good fighter."

Borealis had tried to insist that he stay with his new company, but in the end, they all parted ways. He would remember this for the rest of his life though! he had been a somebody today!
