Brisco sunk down deeper into the hot springs with a pleased sigh. This was the life. Sometimes being a skinwalker sucked -- but other times, like right now, made it great. No one was around to bother him -- mostly because they ran at the sight of him -- so now he had these springs all to himself for some peace and quiet to soak his muscles. Sometimes he wished he'd never gotten the damn charm on his neck -- it was easier when he didn't care what others thought of him. It didn't help that he had a short temper, so when he was actively trying to be... nice to someone, they still treated him with complete mistrust, if they hadn't just run outright -- and it just made him angry. Then he'd snap at them, and they'd be even more wary of his presence -- and it resulted in a vicious cycle that always left him angry and alone. His ears pressed back against his head, irritated at himself. He didn't come to the hot springs to mourn his lonesomeness like some loser. He sunk down a little lower in the water and blew bubbles in it with his nose, growling and grumbling to himself. He only stopped when he heard the snapping of a twig; his ears perked up and he stood up to his full height, water dripping off his soaked body as he bared his teeth, ready to chase off whoever it was interrupting his personal time.

Celia froze. The last thing she expected to see here was a skinwalker. It had already spotted her, so if it was intent on eating her, it would only give chase. Instead, she stood her ground and stared him down -- neither of the pair moving. Her ears flattened back when the skinwalker growled, but he otherwise didn't try to attack. Odd. Celia's eyes fell to the gem on his neck, and her ears perked up again in curiosity. She'd heard rumors that some skinwalkers changed their ways after an angeni-blessed charm was attached to them, but she'd never seen one herself. Maybe this one would be nonviolent. Hopefully. "... I'm only here for some mud," she declared, hoping to put him at ease by stating her intentions. "Then, I will leave you be. Is that acceptable?"

It was clear the little wolf was afraid, but she seemed intent on completing her task despite his presence. Brisco rolled his eyes and sank back into the water, glaring and following the little wolf with his eyes. "Fine," he grumped, still annoyed at being interrupted, but at least she wouldn't be here long. If she tested his patience too long, he could still just chase her off. He didn't really want to leave the warmth of the hot springs, though... ugh. How annoying. As long as she kept her word and kept it quick, then whatever.

Well. He wasn't the most pleasant company, but he wasn't going to eat her, so Celia felt she couldn't complain too much. Or at all. She didn't exactly expect to risk her life in this task for the Forgemaster, and wasn't willing to change that. At the first sign of trouble from this skinwalker, she was out of there. She quickly made her way over to the soft ground, scooping up mud and adding it to the pouch she was carrying with a bowl at the bottom, to help keep it from leaking too much and making a mess. She kept glancing nervously at the skinwalker, but he was just watching her with an angry expression on his face, soaking in the warm water. When she felt like she had enough that the Forgemaster would pay for, she pulled the pouch closed. "T-thank you for letting me complete my task. I'll let you be now," she said, and quickly scampered away. She didn't want to give him time to change his mind.

Well, good. She was gone, and he was alone again. Just like he wanted. Perfect. Good. He growled and splashed at the water angrily with his paw, sinking down up to his chin again, hunching his shoulders. He wasn't upset, just... annoyed that his quiet time had been interrupted. The wolf probably would have been annoying anyway. He closed his eyes and tried to relax, clear his head of his anger at -- at everything. Just let it melt away with the sweat beading on his forehead. His brow furrowed on concentration -- let it go. Just let everything go. What did he have to complain about? He was at the top of the food chain. Hardly anyone would dare challenge him. He was strong and fit, not to mention attractive. He kept his fur mostly clean and his teeth white and sharp. He'd be an ideal mate for anyone -- if anyone bothered to stay close. Stop, he thought to himself, ending that thought before it started again.

No more anger, no more anger...
