Gators and bugs!
While the swamps aren't entirely pleasant, they're still an aspect of the world he hasn't seen. Venture into the swamps and see what you can find!

Sabjorn hadn't wanted company. He wanted to complete this task on his own. In and out, quick and efficient -- but this... thing... hadn't taken no for an answer and just followed him anyway, humming a strange tune. He closed his eyes for a moment, grinding his teeth in irritation, wishing he'd just shut up. It was times like these that he was reminded as to why he wasn't interested in finding a soquili to bond with. He had his mate and their pack -- it was all he needed. Or wanted.

Myrmidon hummed absently as he followed along, trailing behind the angry little wolf without a care. He quite liked the swamp. It smelled bad and had lots of gross creatures in it. And the ground was all soft and he liked the way it felt squishing between his toes. Squish, squish, squish! He laughed to himself, delighting in the feel. Why was he here again? Oh, yes. That hippogryph had wanted bugs and things! At least, he was pretty sure. He couldn't remember, but that was fine. Visiting a swamp was fun all on its own, and he even had a friend to tag along with! Maybe he would remember. He saw something squirming in the mud and went to expect it, pulling out a grub with his claws. Oh, that looked tasty!

"What are you doing? Don't eat that!" Sabjorn snapped, horrified when the soquili paused with his jaws open above the wriggling insect. The soquili seemed to consider his words, but clearly decided to disregard them as he gulped the worm down. Ugh, gross. What was with this stallion? Sabjorn shuddered and turned away from him to keep walking. Fine, if the soquili was going to be creepy, he'd leave him to it.

Yum! It was silly that the wolf told him not to eat it. How strange, when it was so yummy! When the wolf began to walk again, Myrmidon stopped squishing the mud and trotted after him to follow, starting to hum again. He found another worm, but this one he decided to save to give to the Forgemaster. Maybe he'd like the way it tasted, too! He dropped the squirming thing into a bag, along with a little bit of mud and a stick for it to enjoy. He squished the mud one more time, just for good measure, and continued on his way by the wolf's side. He didn't seem to be picking anything up to bring back, which was weird. There was all kinds of useful things here! Like these vines -- he pulled some of them off with his claws and tucked them away. And that bug! He had to squish it to catch it, but he still managed it in the end, and he dropped that into his bag too.

That's it; Sabjorn was done. There was nothing useful here to bring back, it was muggy, it was disgusting, and he'd had enough of this soquili following him around. He was going back, task for the Forgemaster be damned. If he wasn't satisfied with his story of the swamp, he didn't care. It just wasn't worth it. He turned around, glared at the soquili and growled, before he took off running. He couldn't deal with this anymore, and with any luck, he'd lose the soquili on the trek back.

Why did the little wolf prance away so fast? Myrmidon was enjoying himself -- he didn't want to leave so soon! He huffed, annoyed at the loss of his companion, but decided to keep exploring on his own anyway. He didn't need a friend to have fun. He squished a few more bugs -- eating some, saving others for the Forgemaster -- as he went, favoring the more colorful ones. They somehow tasted better. He found a discarded snake skin -- how wasteful -- and added that to his growing collection of goodies. He managed to find some nice plants too, including some cattails, and he stuffed several of those into his now bulging bag. There, that should be plenty of things! Pleased with his haul, Myrmidon began to make his way back out of the swamp. He'd have to come back here again soon -- there were plenty of things he wanted to keep for himself. He did so adore dead things, and it would be nice to maybe start a bug collection. Like butterflies -- they had such colorful wings, but they never liked to stay put long enough for him to look at them, Squishing them first would help, and then he could look at their wings for as long as he pleased!
