Cigaro by System Of A Down hits the arena, causing the fans to explode into cheers as Cartwright makes his grand entrance. He is wearing an ENGLISH Flag inspired jacket, wrestling tights and boots. Cartwright swaggers towards the ring, looking very happy with himself.

Michael Buffer: "Coming to the ring at this time, from London, ENGLAND and weighting-in at 225 lbs. Wearing red and white, he is one of the most recognised stars in the history of professional wrestling. He is the self-proclaimed Extraordinary Englishman. He is........CAAAARTWRIIIIGHT!"

Cartwright enters the ring through the ropes, climbing the steel ring steps first and poses for the fans in the center of the ring as turnbuckle pyro sparkles around him.

Crowd: "CARTY! CARTY! CARTY! CARTY! CARTY!"

Tony Schiavone: "To the relief and joy of all his fans, Cartwright survived his match with Snypa at The Great American Bash with his career intact!"

Larry Zbysko: "Not just his career, but Cartwright also earned contendership for the WCWG World Heavyweight Championship in a match at Starrcade against the champion Andre Damone, who he faced at Starrcade the previous year!"

Tony Schiavone: "Tonight, Cartwright is going up against a mystery opponent!"

Larry Zbysko: "I love a good surprise as an announcer, but I would have hated this as a wrestler! I would have had no way to prepare myself properly for the match if I didn't know who I was competing against!"

 

[Salem Croft]

A moment would pass by after Cart's entrance was over, the silence building on the palpable tension that built like an orchestral crescendo as the fans waited anxiously for the Extraordinary Englishman's opponent to arrive. The crowd was jolted to life, however, by the sudden riff of electric guitar, brought on courtesy of "Highway to Hell" by AC⚡DC.

NUH-NUH!

As the iconic voice of Bon Scott echoed through the arena, a ring of fire ignited on the stage, smoke roaring up from below as a figure rose up amongst the flame and smoke.

Crouched at first, the specter stood up as the light from the stadium revealed him, taped fists and forearms giving way to bare biceps that led to a leather vest sitting upon broad bronzed shoulders, a dark-haired individual stepping out from the circle to unveil his identity.

"AND HIS OPPONENT...WEOGHING IN AT TWO-HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE POUNDS...THE 'MOST WANTED MAN IN WRESTLING', SALEEEEEM CROFFFFFT!"

"The Copperhead" grinned at Cartwright from the stage, making a show of tightening the laces on his black boots before descending the ramp towards the ring, pointing and smiling at his long-time frenemy from across the sea. The crowd was more tame in their reception but nonetheless ready for some wrestling, cheering for the fight that was about to ensue.

Clapping hands with some fans along the way to the ring, Salem descended the ramp and strutted up the ramp with arguably the greatest rock band of all time blasting through the speakers, the addictive riff and lyrics giving him an amp to his mood as he wiped his boots on the apron.

Ducking under the top rope, Salem entered the ring and ascended the turnbuckle he'd entered through, waving to fans before dropping to the canvas and approached his esteemed opponent, smirking like a Cheshire cat as he extended a hand to Cartwright.  

[Cartwright]

Cartwright wasn't expecting this! Salem Croft has made his return to WCWG. The Lad has known The Copperhead for a long time and it seems like Salem wants to test himself against The Beeeest here tonight.

Tony Schiavone: "IT'S HIM!"

Larry Zbysko: "NO WAY! I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD!"

Cartwright looks surprised to see Salem Croft again, greeting him with a smile as he reaches forward to accept his handshake before the bell rings to start the match. The niceties end there though as Cartwright pulls Salem forward by the hand, looking to strike him with a forearm to the head using his free arm!

 

[Salem Croft]

Salem grasped Cart's hand firmly, shaking but finding his grip kept by the Englishman, who then dragged the Native forward into a forearm across the cheek!

Staggering back a step without breaking the handshake, Salem shook the strike off, reaching up with his free hand to rub his cheek, feeling a small cut from Cart's elbow along the inside of his mouth. Looking back at the lad, Salem smirked a little, returning the favor by pulling Cartwright towards him for a forearm strike of his own!  

[Cartwright]

Cartwright smirks as he watches Salem wipe his cheek.

Cartwright: "Welcome back you bloody..."

WHACK! The blood fires Salem up, who gives back as good as he takes, striking The Lad with his own forearm with such force that it forces Cartwright to release his grip on Salem's hand, staggering into the ropes!

 

[Salem Croft]

"Say it!" Salem shouted towards his old friend, grinning with the faintest tint of pink clinging to his teeth, crouching a little with his hands raised outward and open-palmed, waiting for the next exchange. "I'm a bloody b*****d, I know.~"

With that, Salem urged Cart on, motioning for him to bring the fight back to the center of the mat as the audience around them started to salivate for what looked to be an exciting affair!  

[Cartwright]

Salem continues to show his fire, challenging Cartwright to continue what he started. Cartwright gathers himself as he leans on the ropes before charging towards his opponent with another forearm shot!

 

[Salem Croft]

Salem braced himself as Cartwright charged in, telegraphing his attack in the heat of the moment enough to clue Croft in on what was coming! Ducking the forecasted forearm, Salem slipped beneath the Brit's bludgeon attempt with a sizzling display of reflexes and speed!  

[Cartwright]

Salem shows-off his speeding prowess by dodging Cartwright's strike, damn it! The Lad continues to chase after Salem, trying to lamp him with right hand punches!

 

[Salem Croft]

Croft was poised on his toes like a cat as Cartwright came at him with more fists, Salem trying to be slippery by baiting the Brit to the ropes and over them, backing up to duck and pull the top cable down, hoping the contentious Cartwright cartwheeled over it!  

[Cartwright]

Cartwright flies over the top ropes, falling to the outside on his front and looking frustratedly into the camera that decides to zoom into his face.

Tony Schiavone: "Salem's too quick! Cartwright can't touch him!"

Larry Zbysko: "I'd be annoyed too! This isn't an athletic display, it's a wrestling contest!"

 

[Salem Croft]

Salem brought a hand to his mouth, stifling a laugh as the crowd gasped with the bump Cartwright took over the ropes to the floor, the Brit looking annoyed as he got back to his feet. Salem, however, simply backed up to the center of the mat and raised his hands palms-out in apology to the Extraordinary Englishman, still chuckling slightly as he waited for his friend to get back in the ring!  

[Cartwright]

Cartwright shakes his head, that wasn't funny, he could have landed on his head and killed himself! The referee begins to count The Lad out as he paces outside the ring. His current strategy isn't working out so well, so he's having a think while he has the space and time to do so!

 

[Salem Croft]

Tony: "And it looks like Cartwright is trying to gather his thoughts! It's hard to prepare for a mystery opponent but even harder with a game Salem showing up tonight!"

Larry: "Maybe Cartwright's just wondering why a FRIEND would pull down the ropes like that and potentially INJURE him! That Salem's a snake, you just can't trust him!"

For his part, "The Copperhead" casually stretched his shoulders and hamstrings a bit, staying in the center of the ring but turning with Cartwright as he walked around ringside, keeping watch like a hawk while maintaining a smile, a little amused at the sudden change of pace, pun intended.
