Black Zetsu told the story of how Kaguya came to the land of ancestors via a star and how the first divine tree stole everyone's life.

The sons of Kaguya meet the first toad sage who had put a boulder in a creek to block the stream which one of the boys destroys the boulder before the two find the land of toads. The two boys then discover the secret behind the divine tree and they plan to stop their mother from committing anymore serious crimes.

Black Zetsu finishes telling his story by siting specific events that happened in the past that led to what is happening now according to his plan.

Naruto and Sasuke avert being sucked in by black zetsu thanks to Naruto. Naruto tries the sexy jutsu, which works for a time, but fails in the end. Sasuke and Naruto are then separated and a revived Obito promises to help reunite Naruto with Sasuke using the time space trick that Kaguya has been using.

The sage of 6 paths began telling his story to Obito, to Sakura, and to Kakashi in order to help them defeat Kaguya.

Indira the elder son of the sage of 6 paths obtains the sharingan and turns dark while Ashura is worried for his elder brother's path to ninjutsu.

In order to choose a successor, the sage of 6 paths sends Ashura and Indra on two separate missions. Whomever succeeds and depending on how it was done will depend on who becomes the new sage.

Indra shows power with his mission possibly killing the villagers to bring peace amongst their lands. However, Ashura digs a well to be rid of the divine tree to help the villagers where he was sent and gained some friends in the process.

The ghost of the sage of 6 paths finishes telling his story to the reanimated Kage and how a simple pair of promises was the start of how the shinobi wars began and how it is up to Naruto and Sasuke to stop it.

Naruto buys some time for Sakura and Obito to find Sasuke, which works. Now the problem is getting them back to their time space.

As Kaguya launches some ash darts at Naruto and Sasuke, Obito and Kakashi jump in the way, but only Obito gets hit because he warps Kakashi's dart away.

Obito crumbles to death, but reminisces one more time as he is reunited with Rin in the afterlife.

Kakashi regains the sharingan from Obito and protects everyone while the rest of team 7 work together as a team to take down Kaguya.
