Sh'shi had use of the office today. It was odd really, having to share the office at all. It couldn't even be called her office anymore. R'ulfr was Weyrlingmaster to a total of forty-four weyrlings across four classes, soon to become five. Meanwhile Sh'shi was responsible for only eight, her last class, set to graduate in less than a month. Then her retirement would be complete. She would have no claim to the Weyrlingmaster's office whatsoever. It was a strange feeling, some might even say unpleasant. They had been the Weyrlingmaster of Fort for decades now. Fiskenerath seemed to have no problem with the idea of lounging in retirement, but Sh'shi was a touch more restless. What was she supposed to do with this much time?

Her method of dealing with it was to not think about it. She sat at the Weyrlingmaster desk, with eight folders in front of her. Her eyes roamed over the information she had written over the past two turns. Assessments of her charges as they had grown and developed. Decisions needed to be made about where each charge would start their career as full fledged riders.

The office door was open. It was expected for the oldest class of Weyrlings to be nervous. To have questions. As graduation approached, Sh'shi had made it clear that they could seek her out at any time to discuss their future or any concerns they might have. They all had ideas of what they wanted their futures to be. Wingleaders got a say in who they did or didn't want put in their wings, but in came down to her choice. Only the Weyrleaders could veto that. Sh'shi liked to place Weyrlings in wings that would help them, but none of it mattered if it wasn't what they wanted.
